About this game
Dust to Dust is a metroidvania-style adventure game with fast-paced action for mid-core gamers and 3D platforming puzzles.
Experience the world through the eye of a little ghost trying to escape the maze-like C.R.E.E.P. research facility with the help of the psychic, Matthias, in this story-rich video game.
Explore interconnected levels and use the powers you collect along the way to soar higher and turn your gigantic assailants to dust.

Venture through the vast C.R.E.E.P. technological facility overlooking scenic Ancient ruins.
Navigate complex vertical levels by swapping between your solo powers as a sneaky ghost and the supernatural abilities of the medium to solve environmental challenges and bypass the lockdown.
Find new powers and absorb them to unlock new paths that will lead you closer to freedom and understanding your true nature.

Possess the body of a human medium, and use your combined powers to take down coalesced, corrupted ghosts and turn them into Dust!
Absorb these spectral particles to catalyse your own powers and trigger powerful combos.
Locate the core of sprawling bosses and use the high ground to defeat the colossal beings and open new pathways.

The C.R.E.E.P. ectoplasmic storage and research facility has developped a technology to capture and contain ghosts to aid humankind.
Step into the role of one of these ghosts trying to escape during the chaos of a mysterious security breach.
Team up with a young medium trapped in the facility to uncover the secrets of C.R.E.E.P., find ways to communicate with a diverse cast of characters and expose the drawbacks of their technology to the world.

BitSummit Punch!
Ohayo Gozaimasu! May has been a busy month for our Spoons, with the team hard at work on enemy and combat design, and the start of the Indie Game Lab Japon incubation program!©Institut Français du JaponAlong with three other French indie devs, one lucky person on our team was flown to Japan for three weeks of playtests, meetings, masterclasses and design sessions organized by mentors from renowned Japanese publisher Kodansha. We received feedback on Dust to Dust’s prototype from Kodansha’s Creators Lab devs, Tokyo Indies people, and Fairy Tail’s creator Hiro Mashima (!!!), before taking part in BitSummit, the incredible indie game convention in Kyoto last weekend.©Institut Français du JaponIt felt good to see how many people enjoyed switching between our sneaky ghost gameplay and impactful possession mode! The build was hard, but some of you like a challenge, and if you’d played Death’s Door or Kingdom Hearts, you knew where we were going! We’ll keep this edge, simplify inputs, and keep improving the game feel while making sure the overall experience is more accessible than our beloved Hollow Knight and Silksong. ©Unlimited Spoons We are grateful to the partners that made this programme possible - Le Centre National du Cinéma et de l'Image Animée (CNC), L'Institut Français du Japon, Game CréaLab - for us and the creators of No Space for Salad (cozy local co-op), Last Moon (classic Zelda-like adventure) and The Hearts of Paris (art nouveau, Ace-Attorney-like matchmaking game). Also, special kudos to the creators of Zhen and Light Odyssey, whom we met at the convention. Go check out their demos! These are two games with very cool action and graphics and a camera similar to ours. ©Unlimited SpoonsOne more week to enjoy Japan, meet even more people, and prepare for our next in-person playtest session. We hope this unique experience is just the start of more collaborations abroad, and that we’ll get the chance to return to BitSummit with the rest of the team! Dev Log #2: Soar
Hi Steam Community! Our winter milestone is wrapping us nicely!Last week was our 2nd in-person playtest event for this prototype of DUST TO DUST. It was the first time we assembled ghost and medium features into one cohesive 15-min game sequence.Players’ feedback was very encouraging and also pushed us to quickly improve on level design from one session to the next. There is a lot of fine-tuning needed to make player movement as smooth and punchy as we want it to be, but those early versions were enough to provide a fun experience, despite the graybox environments and numerous bugs. Leaping higher!(Not as high as that vacuum cleaner...)One feature we really wanted to add to our core moveset was the ability to leap higher and higher when you take control of the medium’s body. So here it is!If you hit a spectral target when you attack, you can jump and dash again right away, without having to touch ground. This feature will allow us to design new platforming challenges, but most importantly it will give you lots of options to run circles around the gigantic enemies! Reaching further! One thing we did not expect with this prototype was to capture the attention of a new incredible partner: Kodansha Creators’ Lab!Unlimited Spoons is one of four French indie video game studios selected to attend Indie Game Lab Japon, a 3-week workshop in Tokyo with Japanese publisher Kodansha’s Creators’ Lab in May.We hope to have a first rough draft of Dust to Dust’s vertical slice by then, so our Japanese mentors can pick it apart and help us improve on our game & narrative design. The programme also includes a trip to Kyoto for Bit Summit, so… maybe see you there? We are very excited to connect with the Japanese indie scene! Dev or gamer, let us know if you'll be there!\Read full article on Community Announcements (Unlimited Spoons)AnnouncementsOfficial
Dev Log #1: Containment Zone
Our base gameplay is taking shape! Hi Steam community! Best wishes for the New Year!We have been hard at work, prototyping our core gameloop and experimenting with player animation to get a sense of how it feels to shift from ghost exploration to combat with the medium’s body.A smooth and exciting gamefeel is our top priority, so this is the first aspect we’ve been focusing on in our pre-production. Here are clips of some features we’ve been testing so far. Keep in mind that these are placeholder environments, and low quality GIFs!—Dash through thin walls as a ghostDash through thin railingDash through glass... and snatch your human!—Electric object possessionHide in electric devicesPossess light and door switches —Fight Coalesced Ghosts!Dive Attack & Base ComboTransformed Attacks using Spectral Dust What's next?Throughout January, we will block out a new test room with these features, to playtest our core game loop in a proper level design puzzle. Then, we will take part in two in-person events in Lyon (France) to see how players enjoy it!We are very excited to start sharing our work, and, ngl, we had a lot of fun introducing the vacuum cleaner 😆 —Let us know in the comments how it’s looking so far? What would you like to see next?Read full article on Community Announcements (Unlimited Spoons)
