Saraab OST playlist is live! + thank you for playing the demo
Hi everyone! The Saraab Original Soundtrack playlist is now live! You can listen to it outside the game and revisit the emotions of the story at your own pace. These are the tracks featured in the game with one extra. The remaining tracks are still in the works but I will be sharing them after full game release. This soundtrack isn’t written as “horror music.” Instead, each piece is how I imagine the character's essence or the feel of the scene. I had a vision for each track recorded in hums in my voice recorder way before starting the actual game development. I learned to work on DAWS from scratch with an incredible teacher. Composing has been my favorite part of creating the game. The main inspiration was 90s–2000s RPG soundtracks that stick with you for years. I hope that I was able to convey that.I also want to say thank you to everyone who has tried the Saraab demo so far! I appreciate you taking the time to play and share feedback with me.If you give the playlist a listen, I’d love to know which track is your favorite? Thanks again for supporting Saraab and for spending time with both the game and the music. You can listen to the playlist here:Youtube PlaylistRead full article on Community Announcements (Rooted Elevation)AnnouncementsOfficial
Saraab Demo v1.0 is out now!
Hi everyone,I’m the solo developer behind Saraab, a psychological horror visual novel about a young woman confronting childhood wounds, family secrets, and a past that refuses to stay buried. The public v1 demo is now live on Steam and itch.io, and the full game script is about halfway written as I move toward a larger v2 demo for Steam Next Fest in October. What's in the demoThe v1 demo covers the first chapter of the game. It drops you into the protagonist’s ordinary life right before it starts to crack open. You’ll meet her family, sense the tension that comes from old resentments and unspoken expectations, and start seeing the first hints that something is very wrong.Saraab leans into quiet dread, emotional discomfort, and that feeling of being the “wrong” child in your own family. The demo also introduces the first supernatural threads: strange children and entities that seem far too interested in the living. Horror Style:Saraab’s horror is deliberately moderate: there’s a sleep paralysis scene, a few jumpy moments, but there is no gore or jumpscares. Healing the past , changing the futureThe core mechanic of Saraab is its focus on healing. As the protagonist revisits old wounds and family secrets, your choices about whether to face them or escape into comforting illusions will literally alter her future and unlock powers she never knew she had.Instead of treating trauma as background decoration, the game is built around the idea that emotional recovery is what shapes both the story’s outcome and the kind of person she becomes. This will be more apparent in the full game. How you can helpIf Saraab sounds like something you’d connect with, the best way to support it right now is:Play the demo on itch or SteamLeave a short review or comment so I know what resonatedAdd the game to your wishlist on Steam so you’ll see when new builds go upThank you for reading and for giving this strange, personal little horror VN a chance. New Trailer, UI & Updated Screenshots for Saraab: Beyond the Veil
Hi everyone!I’ve just updated the Saraab: Beyond the Veil Steam page with a new trailer, UI screenshots with the new UI.Saraab at its core is a story about healing from pain, facing our own duality and reaching our full potential. The horror elements are there, but what matters most to me is the emotional journey underneath. This new trailer is the closest I’ve come so far to expressing what Saraab really feels like in my head.I've also refreshed the screenshots so the page reflects the current UI and visual direction. What you see now is much closer to the game you’ll actually play. The demo script, art and music are almost complete with minor edits here and there. I am aiming for a very close release. If you have a moment, it would mean a lot to me if you:Watch the new trailer made by the lovely "KotoriMworks"Let me know what you think And if Saraab speaks to you, please add it to your wishlist.Thank you for following Saraab this early. I’m excited (and a bit nervous) to finally share more of it with you.- Rooted Elevation GamesRead full article on Community Announcements (Rooted Elevation)
