    Pixel Mart's Future

Hey, all! It's been a while since I posted, with holidays and what not. Now that I can focus, I've considered the state of the game. Obviously it's not great. There are many issues, both bugs, and design choices. Several reports have said the same things as to what the gameplay is and involves. With that said, I have fully scrapped the project and have begun reworking it from the ground up. Buuut, I'm not just remaking the game. I'm fully changing it. It'll look similar, but play very differently. Here's the plan: I've heard that the game has no purpose and with no goal, it feels pointless to progress. So, I'm working on two ways to fix that. Two game modes. To preface it, I'm changing the store functions from being open or closed at any time, to a fixed open / close time. The store will not be open overnight. Instead, you choose when to press the open button, and time will begin (starting at 7 AM) and will not stop until 10PM (times may change). At the end of the day, after all the customers are gone, you'll receive a run down of how you did, your profits, etc. The first game mode: Story Mode, will contain a story and the game play will be centered around that. There will be characters you can interact with and learn about. There will be goals to reach for certain events, or to progress the story. This is meant to be a more casual and slower paced game than the next mode. The second game mode will have a name... As of right now, I'm thinking Wildcard Mode. In it, things function similarly, but instead of focusing on a story, you'll gain effects to the store. At the end of each day, you'll be presented with a few options that affect aspects of the store. This can range from cost changes, to negating certain items, or shelving units allowing more or less capacity, so if you get the negative option, you can't stock as much onto a single shelf. This mode is meant to be a hectic, anything goes mode where you push the store as far as you can. Ontop of all of these change...

    Full Release

The full version of the game has been released! If you've played the demo, the save files will not work as those saves will not have the data and items that the full version has. If you played the demo from long ago, before the steam demo, you will get an error that says something about headgear. You'll need to go into /localappdata/GroceryStoreSim and delete that folder's contents. This headgear is a variable that was added after the previous demo, which did not have a headgear equipment slot. I hope you enjoy the new items and workstations, as well as what's waiting in the adoption building. Thanks for playing, and let me know of any issues that come up!

    V0.1.1 Demo Update

It is recommended to wipe all data by going to /localappdata/GroceryStoreSim/ and deleteing all files in that folder UI has been redone to allow for scaling to different sizes, including a windowed mode that can be scaled. Tutorial has been redone and is more in depth. I'm aware of some overlapping elements in the UI and those will be fixed at a later time. Added a setting to control how dark night time can get as well as started a new game at a brighter setting. Added screen shot functions for steam.Added proper pausing. NPCs and vehicles will not move, and time will not progress. Added a back button on most UI screens that can be pressed, instead of using the escape key.Zoomed the camera in game so it feels more like a pixel art gameLet me know of any issues you come across. Hoping to release the full game very soon!
