Transform desolate landscapes into thriving ecosystems in Open Land, where every click brings new life. Dive into the relaxing challenge of balancing nature with Ralph Schaedler's thoughtful simulation.

About this game

Open Land is a cozy building and restoration game about healing a broken world with the help of friendly eco-technology. Clean up pollution, recycle debris, and guide nature back to life as barren land slowly transforms into a thriving ecosystem.

You begin in a damaged landscape filled with trash, oil, and scorched ground. With only a small eco-bot and a handful of tools, you start restoring the land one action at a time.

Place plants, structures, and restoration tools to shape the land. As conditions improve, nature responds. Grass cascades across the terrain, trees take root, and the ecosystem begins to sustain itself.

As the land recovers, animals return. Different species thrive under different conditions, and their presence reflects the health of the ecosystem.

Create safe, balanced habitats and watch animals explore, interact, and settle into the world you’ve restored.

Earn eco points by cleaning, recycling, and restoring the land. Unlock new buildings, upgrades, and restoration technologies as each stage is completed.

With every step forward, you gain new ways to clean faster, restore larger areas, and guide the ecosystem toward long-term sustainability.

Open Land Demo Update: New Robots, Controller Support, More Content

Hi everyone,I just released a big update for the Open Land demo. This update adds several new features, improvements, and quality-of-life changes based on the direction I want to take the game next.Main additions:New robots and items to buildBot task list / queueHydro Bots that collect water and bring it to storageBot configuration optionsGamepad supportImproved animal AI (They now can get startled)More activity and movement in restored environmentsMac OS BuildIf you have a Steam Deck to test the Demo, I'd love some feedback on how well it runs on Steam Deck. The biggest change is that robots now have a larger role in the game. They are not just there to clean trash anymore. They can now help with resource collection too, which makes the restored world feel more alive and automated.Animals have also been improved, so they behave more naturally in the environment and react better to what is happening around them. This update is still part of the demo, so feedback is very helpful. If you try it, I’d love to hear what works, what feels confusing, and what you would like to see improved. Thanks for playing and following the development of Open Land.-Ralph, Open Land Developer
