Explore the struggles and decisions of guiding giants in Feed the Giants. Navigate the complex desires of your kindred as you make choices that affect the lives of the children under your care, shaping a narrative of survival or sacrifice in this unique indie strategy experience.

About this game

You are a giant. Under the gaze of your kind, you guide a group of lost children through a hostile world, in exchange for the gold they throw down to you. Some dream of seeing these children grow. Others feed on their suffering. Every choice has its consequence.

SURVIVAL AND SACRIFICE

Tend a campfire to hold back the creatures that prowl in the dark. Gather resources, build shelters, keep the children alive. Will you give in to the cruelest demands to be rewarded, or hold onto your humanity at the risk of losing everything?

A DIVIDED AUDIENCE

Every giant watching you has their own taste, their own morality. Some are benevolent. Some are merely curious. Others are toxic. Your decisions shape the crowd you cultivate: an act of cruelty will satisfy some and drive others away.

A HOSTILE WORLD

Each biome imposes its own rules. Threats evolve, resources grow scarce, and your audience grows ever more demanding.

Demo Update | Patch Notes #2

Demo Update | Patch Notes #2 This update reworks how you carry resources, adds a demolition tool, a new Giant request, and clears out a batch of long-standing annoyances. Carrying, reworked Resources now stick to your hand: click once to grab them, no need to keep the button held.Grab a pile and nearby resources of the same type are scooped up along with it.While carrying: a quick tap drops one unit, a tap on another pile of the same type adds it to your hand, and holding the click drops everything. The chest and the storehouse use the same system: click a slot to take one item, hold to scoop up the whole stack, and release over a storage window to put it all away. No more dropping things on the ground in between. Demolish buildings New tool in the build menu: arm it, click a building (or an unfinished blueprint) and it's gone, the ground is freed for something better.Right-click to put the tool away. A new Giant request The Giants may now ask you to tuck mushrooms safely into a storehouse. Keep them happy. Campfire & fuel Fuel now counts the moment it lands in the flames: each resource instantly fills the fire gauge by its own value, and the fire burns it down at a steady pace (rain still drains it faster).Careful not to overfeed, anything past the gauge's cap goes up in smoke. Interface & comfort Reward cards now ask you to confirm your pick, no more misclicks costing you a bonus.Your inventory is open from the start, and the storehouse window opens as soon as you build one.The build menu now highlights the category you're browsing. The giant hand cursor keeps moving while a Giant is talking.Chickens finally have their own look, and the ambient soundscape got a refresh. The demo now starts in English by default (French and Japanese still available). Fixes Fixed a rare bug where a resource could get permanently stuck, impossible to click, grab or drag.Clicking on menus or reward cards no longer accidentally places a building or drops what you're carrying behind the wi...

Demo Update | Patch Notes #1

New Objective, Reworked Rewards & BalancingThis update brings a new run objective, a reworked Giant reward system, an expanded tutorial, and several balance adjustments.New run objectiveNo more collecting 200 gold coins: you now have to keep the Altar's fire burning until daybreak. Last until dawn, and the Giants pay your rent.Runs are shorter (~20 minutes) for a more intense experience. Reworked Giant rewardsWhen you unlock a reward, a screen now appears directly with three bonus cards, one per Giant. (No more notification to click, no camera pullback, no dialogue.)Pick a card: the others vanish and the bonus applies immediately. The game pauses while you choose, no pressure.Every Giant makes you an offer, even the unhappy ones.Safety net: if you have fewer than 4 children left, a card will always offer you a new one, so you're never stuck.Cards respond to hover for better readability. Expanded tutorialNew steps teach you the essentials: stashing a resource in your chest (kept between runs), building a storehouse, crafting a torch to explore the dark, and gathering resources to bring back.Quality of life & storageYou can now drop resources straight onto the storehouse window, and move items between your chest and the storehouse without dropping them on the ground.Camera adjustments (framing and a subtle motion for a livelier view).BalanceCampfire & fuels rebalanced: several resources feed the fire differently.Heavier rain: downpours are stronger and denser.FixesResource stacks now combine correctly when you group them.During the tutorial, the fire and its light halo no longer go haywire, and a child thrown into the flames respawns (no more soft-lock).The "feed children only one type of food" challenge now correctly detects violations.Various fixes and polish. Thanks for testing the demo and sharing your feedback!

    Bye bye Childwood!

Hi everyone! We are NOT sad to announce that Childwood will no longer exist.Say hello to...Feed the GiantsWhy this change???As French developers, we didn’t realize that 'wood' can be used as English slang. We had no idea that Childwood could be perceived as problematic. Thankfully, many of you warned us on Reddit and helped us make the decision to change the game’s name. We chose Feed the Giants for several reasons: Avoid any problematic interpretationBetter reflect the game’s objectiveEmphasize the streaming metaphor with the word 'Feed' We also redesigned the logo to move away from the Burton-esque / Don’t Starve-inspired style and give it a more threatening identity: What do you think? Do you like it?Meet us at Indie Game LyonAlso, we'll be participating in Indie Game Lyon this week-end. If you’re around, come playtest the demo in preview and meet the team! We’ll be waiting for you!See you soon!
