About this game

THE RIESE PROJECT

Sometimes a place remembers more than people do.

The Riese Project is an immersive first-person narrative thriller for PC and VR — where realism meets unease.
In the heart of the mountains, where concrete and stone merge with silence, something still waits — unseen, but present.

It won’t tell you a story.
You’ll become part of it.

Deformed corridors.
Traces of those who disappeared.
A silence that isn’t empty.

A world that reacts to your presence — watches, listens, remembers.

This is a story about places that never forgot,
about sounds returning too late,
and about space that speaks instead of people.

Don’t look for a goal.
Find meaning in what remains when everything else falls silent.

The Riese Project in Early Access marks the first chapter of a larger journey — a fragment of something that continues to grow and evolve.
Each update will uncover new layers and new questions.
And the answers? They may never come.

You don’t need to buy anything to step into this world — a free prologue awaits in silence.
But if the echo answered you differently, if curiosity still pulls you deeper, this is where your path begins.

Listen.
This place still speaks.

The Riese Project: VR Performance Update

Step by step, I'm working on making the engine run smoother. In this update, I focused on offloading both the CPU and GPU to eliminate wasted resource overhead.I combed through the code and stripped out hidden overhead generated by heavy background UI processes that were unnecessarily taxing the hardware even when not actively in use. What this update changes:Lighter CPU and GPU: Offloading the processor and graphics card helps maintain a more stable framerate during demanding moments. No more micro-stutters: Removing constant background UI polling completely eliminates annoying headset stuttering.Greater stability: Gameplay is smoother, and exploring the complex proceeds without technical disruptions.Work continues, but now you can head deeper without technical baggage. This isn't the final word on optimization, but it's a solid step forward. Time to check out the results in the underground.Technical note (one-time)For the new code structure to work properly, I recommend a clean start with this update: reinstalling the game and clearing local save data from the directory:C:\Users\ \AppData\Local\RieseProjectSee you in the dark— Sebastian (MasashigeDev) Creator of The Riese Project

The Riese Project – Early Access Launch

THE RIESE PROJECT — EARLY ACCESS MANIFESTThis is not a game that wants to scare you. This is a place that wants you to come back.We are launching Early Access — and we want to be absolutely clear about what this means. The Riese Project begins with the Prologue. The very same one you can play for free. We don’t hide that. We don’t dress it up.The Prologue exists so every player can feel the tone, atmosphere, pacing, and structure of this world. And we want to keep it exactly as it is.But Early Access is a different path. A path that goes forward — and deeper. Not everything here has an answer — nor should it.1. The Prologue ≠ Early AccessThe Prologue is a closed, self-contained story. We will refine it, but we will not expand it further.Early Access is the full game in development. This is where you will see:new chapters, new sections of the complex, new VR/FPP interactions and mechanics, new documents and recordings, new places that exist on no official map.The Prologue invites you in. EA leads you further — where maps end and questions begin.2. Why join Early Access NOW?Because EA is the lowest price the game will ever have — every major update will increase it.Because you are not buying an “unfinished game”. You are buying a place in the process — a version that grows with you.Because your feedback will directly shape the story, systems, and spaces of the final game. And if you prefer to wait — the Prologue will remain there for you. Your pace. Your choice.3. What is Riese? What makes it different? It is not a horror game. It is not a puzzle game. It is not a walking simulator.Riese is a place.A real place. A place that does not need a monster for you to feel tension. A place built from silence, echo, and light. Not everything in Riese can be named. And not everything should be.Our core identity:photorealistic exploration of the real Riese underground, narrative carried by space, not dialogue,VR that does not pretend to be safe, immersion built on the feeling that you are ...
