Explore The Forsaken Tomb, an indie adventure that challenges your perception as you navigate through an endlessly shifting maze of traps and puzzles.

About this game

ENTER THE FORSAKEN TOMB

The tomb does not stay still.

Rooms subtly change. Objects shift. Details feel… wrong.

Your task is simple: observe carefully, identify anomalies, and choose the correct path forward.

Miss something important, and you will find yourself returned to where you began.

This is a game of perception, tension, and quiet unease – where certainty is never guaranteed.

A PLACE THAT REFUSES TO REMAIN THE SAME

Buried beneath shifting sands lies a tomb long erased from history.

Within it rests an ancient relic, sealed away and forgotten over time.

Those who have entered this place speak of disorientation – of corridors that repeat, and rooms that refuse to remain the same.

The tomb does not bar the way with traps or blades, but with uncertainty.

You find yourself returning again and again to the same inner chamber.

At least, it appears to be the same.

Subtle changes take hold – objects shift, vanish, grow, or distort – quietly testing your perception and attention.

Only by recognising these anomalies can you hope to move forward.

Mistake the altered for the unchanged, and the path collapses back upon itself.

Observe carefully.

Trust nothing.

Something here is aware of your presence.

NO TWO RUNS ARE EVER THE SAME

The Forsaken Tomb is infinitely replayable.

Each playthrough features randomly generated room sequences, drawing from a wide range of anomaly types and variations.

Familiar spaces cannot be relied upon, and experience alone is not enough.

What helped you before may mislead you next time.

TWO MODES. FOUR DIFFICULTY LEVELS.

Choose how you challenge your perception.

Normal Mode

Progress through a single run of the tomb, identifying anomalies and selecting the correct path in order to reach the final chamber.

Escape Mode

Navigate the shifting tomb to reach an ancient relic – then continue on, finding a route out as the environment reconfigures around you.

Four difficulty levels, from Easy to Extreme, adjust how subtle environmental changes become, encouraging repeated play and mastery.

FEATURES

  • Infinitely replayable anomaly-spotting gameplay

  • Randomised room generation with multiple anomaly types

  • Two game modes: Normal and Escape

  • Four difficulty levels focused on perceptual challenge

  • First-person perspective with minimal interface

  • Atmospheric tension driven by observation, not jump scares

  • Designed for short sessions or repeated mastery runs

FIND THE WAY OUT

There is a path through the tomb – but it reveals itself only to those who pay attention.

Each correct choice brings you closer to escape.

Each mistake sharpens your understanding.

Observation is your only guide.

Price confirmed: $5.99 USD (and yes, Dave.exe approved it)

Price confirmed: $5.99 USD (and yes, Dave.exe approved it) We’ve finally locked the price in a secure vault, guarded by ancient curses, modern spreadsheets, and one extremely judgemental mascot. The Forsaken Tomb will launch on 3rd March. And when it does, it’ll cost $5.99 USD. Cheap enough to impulse-buy, expensive enough that Dave.exe can’t claim it was “free” and start “optimising” things. What we’d love you to do next: Play the demo (it’s on our store page right now). If you enjoyed it, please leave a positive review on the demo. It helps a ridiculous amount. If you can’t leave a positive review yet, don’t force it. Instead, hop into our Discord and tell us what’s not working for you so we can fix it. Join our Discord: discord.gg/mashedpixels PS: Dave.exe says he “values feedback”. We’re pretty sure he means “feeds on it”, but either way, it helps.

Join our Discord: Help shape the game (and keep an eye on Dave.exe) Want a direct line to the studio? Come join the Mashed Pixels Discord where we actually read feedback, ship fixes, and occasionally have to reboot Dave.exe when he starts making “creative decisions”. Why join? Give feedback that genuinely helps us improve the game (and the studio). Get updates first: patches, demo changes, release news, the lot. Report bugs/anomalies (in-game and otherwise). Hang out with the community and watch us pretend we’re organised. Join here: discord.gg/mashedpixels PS: If Dave.exe welcomes you personally, just nod and agree. It’s safer.

    v0.1.0 Hotfix Patch Notes

v0.1.0 Hotfix Patch Notes You spoke. We listened. The tomb stared at us in silence. So we shipped a hotfix faster than we probably should admit. What’s changed Intro and outro text is now faster (less dramatic waiting, more actual game). New: Press any key/button to advance to the next line once you’ve read it. No more being held hostage by the soundtrack’s vibes. Still included: Hold to skip the entire intro after your first playthrough (because you’ve earned that right). We originally said this would land “in the coming weeks”. Turns out it landed as a hotfix, because apparently half of you were ageing in real-time during the intro and we felt responsible. As always, keep the feedback coming. If you spot anything weird (other than the anomalies, obviously), tell us.

We Hear You! - Planned Updates

Intro Text: “Let Me Read Faster Than The Music, Please” We’ve seen the feedback about the intro text pacing, and yes: we timed the lines to the music… which has apparently caused some of you to age five years in the first 60 seconds. Right now, after you’ve watched the intro once, you can already hold to skip the entire intro on future runs. But we agree that’s not quite enough if you’re reading faster than the dramatic timing. Planned update We’re working on an option that lets you press any key / button to advance to the next line as soon as you’ve finished reading, instead of waiting for the next timed beat. Cinematic pacing for first-timers Instant “next line” for everyone else Less waiting. More tomb. More sanity. We’re aiming to get this in as soon as possible (target: the next couple of weeks), assuming Dave.exe stops “adding atmosphere” by inserting extra pauses when we’re not looking.
