Command your team through intense online PvP battles where every upgrade counts. Some of You May Die challenges you to devise cunning tactics for victory against other players.

About this game

Some of You May Die is a strategic autobattler where you assemble a team of heroes and upgrade them to absurd levels of power.  Test your skill against other players in Online PvP!

Breaking the game IS the game.  Stack upgrades and heroes to level them up.  Invest gold in customizing your heroes with full control over their stat sheet.

Want a high armor priest who reflects incoming damage? You can do that.
How about an assassin with lightning fast movement speed who skips your opponents defensive line entirely? Yup.

No two heroes are the same! Every time you are offered a hero, they come with a different combination of Boosted Stats and an Ability that give them a unique edge.  These combinations create a huge amount of variety.  After choosing a hero, you are offered dozens of highly synergistic upgrades to push the customization even farther.  This empowers you to create ultra-powerful teams that feel completely unstoppable - until your opponent reaches for the perfect counter.

Key Features

  • Realtime & Async Multiplayer: Face other players and put your strategies to the test.  Matches are full of clever counters so it's never to late to stage a come-back!  You can choose between Realtime Multiplayer or Asynchronous Multiplayer so you never have to wait for matches.

  • A Constantly Shifting Meta-Game: Each match has a different pool of upgrades a randomized squad of heroes to pick from. This keeps the meta-strategy fresh every time you play!

  • Deep Customization: Each hero comes with 2 Boosted Stats (like health, attack speed, or range) and an ability.  Boosted Stats start higher and upgrade faster than a non-boosted stat. This means that each hero offered in the shop has unique potential and some can be upgraded to absurd levels of power.

  • Become Overpowered: Stack heroes of the same kind from the shop to level them up. Leveled heroes get a significant boost to their stats, making each level a meaningful step up.  Invest heavily in one or two powerful heroes or go wide and flood the battlefield to outnumber your foes!  The choice is yours.

  • Stack your Upgrades: Level up your heroes' upgrades too!  Upgrades offer a high variety of customization.  Some add effects to your heroes' attacks like Poison or Stun.  Some trigger actions on events like "on death" or "on kill".  Leveled upgrades become significantly more powerful which leads to highly strategic and specialized builds.

Matches are tactical, full of wild synergies, and will have you on the edge of your seat right up to the end!

    Async Multiplayer HAS ARRIVED

I'm super excited to announce the first Major Update of Some of You May Die and it contains multiple significant changes! The first big addition is Asynchronous Multiplayer! This means you no longer have to wait for matchmaking. Realtime multiplayer is still available of course, but now you can take on a huge variety of opponents via Async Multiplayer at any time. Find it now in the "Play Online" sub menu in game. Another big feature is Auto Queue. If you prefer realtime matches but don't like to wait, you can now Queue Up for matchmaking and then go and play Solo Trials or even Async Multiplayer while you're still in queue. Then as soon as a match is found, you'll jump into a realtime game! There's a button to enable or disable Auto Queue. Quality of Life Improvements When applying an upgrade if there are two heroes under your mouse, it will ask you who you meant to give the upgrade to instead of assuming Clicking the same spot multiple times cycles through overlapping units Balance Changes Poison Upgrades (Sepsis, Contaminate, Plague Doctor Mask) have been nerfed to keep them more balanced. Poison is now still useful but no longer overwhelmingly unfair The Sacrifice upgrade now takes health from 1/2/5 allies per level rather than starting at 3 and scaling up from there Bug Fixes Mage can no longer spend into negative mana Lucky Start now grants a true 100% luck rather than 75% Fixed issue with skeletons summoned via Turn Undead freezing and not doing anything Bards will walk to stay in range of relevant heroes rather than just staying near other Bards with no one relevant to buff Fixed the Sky Beam effect causing lag UI Improvements Round info and DPS buttons have been moved into the shop Your own health is now displayed in the upper left to mirror the opponents for ease of reading Thanks for all the bug reports and feedback! Patch v1.1.3

Hello everyone, I'm very grateful for all the feedback I've been receiving. I've been reading everything and have some exciting improvements to announce. The primary improvements: 1. The Matchmaking Ranking System now shows that you win when your opponent abandons a match. This was already the case but the User Interface did not properly let you know that abandoned matches were safe to leave and that you still gain rank when your opponent abandons the match. Additionally, matches may now be safely abandoned before round 2. So for example, if you find yourself facing the same opponent over and over and don't want to go through with the match, you can leave (so long as you do before round 2) without it affecting your rank. And Leaderboard Rank changes are now displayed in Run History - showing which matches caused you to rank up or down and by how much. 2. The singleplayer base difficulty has been adjusted. The base difficulty was admittedly a brutal experience. Note, however, that the upper bound of the difficulty has not been changed. If you still want a challenging experience, you will definitely get it through the difficulty modifiers; however, the default standard difficulty is now easier. Other features and improvements: The herbalist will now stay targeting the original hero that they started on and follow them if they walk out of range. The herbalist will still switch targets in the event that their target dies or their target gets maxed out on the stats that the herbalist is giving them. Priest's with the Regeneration ability have been improved to be actually useful. Regeneration now stacks so that it can deliver significant amounts of healing over time. Burrower's Nymphs inherit the Burrower's abilities. Nymphs were previously rather useless. Now they are meaningfully strategic. Burrower's burrow animation is now much faster. Charm no longer ends a battle if the last remaining unit is charmed. Charm is still useful in that it makes the target attack it's all...

How Launch Is Going & Future Plans

It's been 2 days since launch and there's been a ton of great feedback. Thank you all for your comments and messages. I'm reading everything and am planning an update to address many things! The two biggest issues I'm seeing are: It's unclear if you win when someone abandons a match (you do) It's too difficult / unbalanced In order to make an update, I have to work with a few translation teams to update things in all the languages the game supports so I'm planning the first update for a couple weeks from now. I'm also planning to address many quality of life issues that people have been mentioning and many other adjustments. This will also ensure that I have enough time to collect feedback to make sure I address people's concerns / issues. Thanks everyone, it's been so fun to read everything and to play matches with you all! Jo
