About this game
The Fade is a psychological horror mystery game set in the small town of Willowbrook, where a strange illness erases people from both memory and existence.
25 years after the last outbreak, Mayor Judah Creed reopens the since sealed Lacuna Ridge Mine to profit off of rare Moldavite gemstones, bringing back the mysterious disease that tore Willowbrook apart. Not long after the first outbreak, beautifully strange purple flowers began appearing throughout Willowbrook. Even inside family homes. The townsfolk came to call them “the sacred flower,” although no one knew where they came from, what they meant, or why they stopped appearing when the mine was sealed.
Play as main character Winnie Axler, born beside a sacred flower, who is known throughout the town as the "sacred child". Winnie is living proof of the tragedy no one fully remembers. But with the disease returning and the flowers spreading once more, the cracks in the town’s history begin to show. As secrets resurface and the truth gets harder to ignore, Winnie must uncover what has been swept under the rug before the town is lost to the Fade again.
Will you save Willowbrook… or fade away like the rest?
PLEASE NOTE:
This is literally our first game ever in the history of our existences. There WILL be issues, bugs, and problems.
This game is not set to release for the foreseeable future. As of October 20th, 2025 we are preparing a free demo version that is about 20-30 minutes of gameplay, within the next few months. However, the full game will not be released until we are sure we can do the story we have come up with justice. We would LIKE to be able to release this game within the next year, but we are not promising anything.
We will be releasing updates when we have them, and we have a discord server and a twitter account, where we will be posting updates and teasers about the game.

Demo Story Almost Complete!
The DemoWe still have no planned release date, but we are so close to being done with the Demo's storyline, we can taste it, and it. is. JUICY. and TRAGIC. And beautiful. and MWAH!Colby is working tirelessly on tilesets and art for the in-game cutscenesLiah and Vyx are solidifying story points and timelines while Colby is actively working on their art and giving their input as wellProgramming and Coding is projected to start when Tilesets are mostly done (a few months) which is perfect time for Liah and Vyx to complete the story. The Fade is SO very underway and we are so excited to have gotten this far. While we know it's taking a very long time, it very may well take years for us to finish the full game, but for now we're on the perfectly right track, and a demo should be out at some point within the next year. We're working every day to make sure we get this game to be the best it can possibly be. We're so SO excited. Thank you for your support and for keeping up with us.Read full article on Community Announcements (Honeyshade Studios)AnnouncementsOfficial
Updates week of: March 3, 2026
Hello! We have all collectively gotten together and have been talking about The Fade more actively. Here's what's HappeningMusic-Liah is currently working on more music for after demo scenes, and fixing the music that was messed up in the game file moving process.Art-Colby is presently reworking all tilesets still, this is a lengthy process and may take weeks. Colby's hands are getting sore from the process. Please do not hate us xDProgramming-Vyxie has added all doors entrances and exits, but cannot code things like cutscenes, puzzles, and storylines until Colby finishes the tilesets, so at the moment while Colby works on their art, programming is at a standstill, and we're been working on keeping our Podcast's Twitch active. We plan to stream every Saturday at 10PM ET, hopefully moving from once a week to twice a week soon. However, no guarantees. We PLAN to stream the game-making processes without showing any major cutscenes or spoilers, and we will be deleting the VODs from our page so that only those who came to say hi know what's going on, then when the game is released, we will post a montage of our struggling xDAnyway, a huge thank you to those of you still excited for this game, and we hope to get the ball rolling more quickly when the tilesets are done in their entirety.Read full article on Community Announcements (Honeyshade Studios)AnnouncementsOfficial
Emergency upon Emergency
Hello allUnfortunately these last 3 weeks have been hell for us. 3 weeks ago there was no announcement because it was our final day for our collective classes, and we all had final projects due that were worth over 30% of our grades and we needed to focus. Directly after that Saturday, We had all contracted COVID-19. Liah's boyfriend had it the worst of all of us. One week into contracting COVID, he had to be taken to the ER, and was admitted for nearly a week. All three of us were lacking sleep, and unable to focus on anything other than our daily lives, and constantly checking in with Liah and her Boyfriend. He is now finally home, and doing well, but it was a scary week for all of us, and we could not handle making an announcement, nor did we have time to talk about the updates of The Fade. We plan to come back to figuring shit out as soon as we are not all stressed. Give us like a week and we will have brand new updates for you. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this stressful time. We shall be back momentarily.Read full article on Community Announcements (Honeyshade Studios)AnnouncementsOfficial

We're Back!~
What happened? What happened is simple. We'd been working on the game non-stop for two months straight, we got burnt out beyond belief, and we all had to take a break from The Fade to get our sh*t together. However, Our sh*t has been gathered, and we are now resuming production. Thank. God. What went wrong? We realized the art was generic, and boring, because we were just defaulting to the software's tiles and decorations. We want this game to be as aesthetically beautiful as we know The Fade's story can be. We're using RPGMaker MV, which, yes, comes with its own tiles and furniture and cutesie or scary things that we can throw in the game, but we're learning how to make our own so the game can really be ours. Because of this, we literally had to throw the whole thing out, and start all over again. Which, is really disappointing considering we basically had almost the whole demo done. But we didn't want to release a demo with completely different aesthetics and vibes from the final product. Who does what?Colby is our artist. They work on the aesthetics of the game, and any art pieces you may see throughout the game's cutscenes. They also work on advertisement art for the game, and even individual tiles and furniture and decorations in the game. Without Colby, this game would look like ass. Pyxie (Vyxie.Pyxie) is our programmer. They are the main person who is working on the coding and programming of the game. They work so thoroughly on making sure the game actually works. Without Pyxie, there would literally be no game. Liah (Strawbxrriii) is our music producer and social media manager. She works on all of the music, and most of the sound effects in the game. If we decide to add voice acting, she will be the VA for our main character, Winnie. Without Liah, the game would have very generic sounds and ambiances. What was happening beforehand, was that we all felt the need to be together while working on the game. Everyone gathered at Pyxie&Colby's house for weeks on end...Read full article on Community Announcements (Honeyshade Studios)
