About this game

WRITE YOUR OWN FANTASY CHRONICLE
The Fallen Chronicles is a fantasy strategy roleplaying game about building a realm, guiding its people, and shaping the lives of the characters who carry out your will.
Begin with a small domain in a procedurally generated world. Explore unknown lands, establish settlements, gather resources, and strengthen your borders. As your realm grows, rival factions will expand beside you, alliances will shift, and new dangers will emerge.
RULE THROUGH YOUR CHARACTERS
Your realm acts through its rulers, nobles, officers, and adventurers. Send them to explore distant lands, govern settlements, lead armies, investigate mysterious locations, and undertake quests.
Their experiences shape who they become. Characters gain traits, renown, relationships, injuries, rewards, and lasting consequences through events and player-driven decisions.
BUILD A LASTING REALM
Develop settlements, construct buildings, manage gold and goods, raise soldiers, and maintain the loyalty and happiness of your population.
Every province offers different terrain, resources, and opportunities. Expand carefully, because a larger realm is more powerful but also more difficult to govern.
CHOOSE YOUR PLACE IN THE WORLD
Trade with neighboring factions, offer gifts, negotiate treaties, arrange alliances, or march against your enemies.
Other realms pursue ambitions of their own. A minor neighbor may become a loyal ally, a bitter rival, or the beginning of a war that reshapes the entire world.
FACE QUESTS, DANGERS, AND CHANGING AGES
Discover ancient ruins, forgotten graves, strange towers, cursed places, monsters, and other mysteries scattered across the world.
Quests and events present choices that can reward your characters, burden them with lasting consequences, or alter the fate of your realm. As the years pass, new ages bring different threats and opportunities.
Build a prosperous kingdom, forge a legendary dynasty, conquer your rivals, or watch your realm become another forgotten name in history.
Every ruler leaves a story behind. What will be written in yours?

A World in Motion: Bringing the Map to Life
A World in Motion Hello everyone! One of the comments I kept seeing when I first started showing The Fallen Chronicles online was simple: “The world looks good, but it feels too static.” And honestly, people were right. The map already had kingdoms, roads, rivers, mountain passes, armies, ruins, and the beginnings of countless stories. But when nothing moved, it could still feel like an illustration waiting for the game to begin. For a game about watching history unfold, the world itself needed to feel as though time was passing. That feedback led me to a complete “world in motion” pass: animated water, wind moving through forests, drifting cloud banks, projected shadows, and flocks of birds crossing the landscape. Movement now reaches everything from a quiet lake to the clouds passing overhead. The goal was never to cover the hand-painted map in flashy effects. I wanted the movement to remain subtle enough for a strategy game—something you feel while playing, even when you are not consciously watching it.Starting with the WaterThe painted shoreline remains fixed while waves and sunlight move across the water within it.Water was the obvious place to begin. A completely still lake can make even a detailed coastline feel artificial, so my first solution was simply to move a texture across every water tile. It worked but it also made the sea look like wallpaper. Every hex repeated the same movement, making the grid more noticeable than ever. I replaced that approach with a small shader that combines two layers of wave motion and offsets their timing according to world position. Nearby tiles still look like parts of the same lake or sea, but they no longer pulse in perfect unison. The original painted texture stays visible underneath, while a restrained highlight gives the impression of sunlight travelling across the surface. Even that sunlight caused trouble. When the reflection repeated once per hex, it revealed the grid all over again. It now appears as one broad, cam...Read full article on Community Announcements (NeLer93)
