About this game
Steal from the Dead. Pay the Living
Begraved is a first-person co-op dungeon crawler set in the decaying land of Goria where death collects its dues, and survival is a borrowed grace.
You are one of the Gravebound, condemned to loot cursed tombs around the city, driven by a corrupt balance of ruin and despair. Beneath the ground you delve, where forgotten snares await the unwary, whispers coil in the dark, and curses rest silent within relics long undisturbed. Your light is limited, your pack is small, and the Taxman will come whether you live or die.
Scavenge what you can, make it out alive, and pay your dues. Or face the rope, unpaid and unburied.
Loot Fast. Escape Alive
First-person dungeon crawling for 1 to 5 players
Procedurally generated tombs filled with hazards, secrets, and things best left undisturbed
Choose your tools such as torches, mallets, or gear with unusual traits
Limited inventory space forces tough choices between loot and survival
Solo play or co-op. Together or alone, the crypts’ horrors do not relent
Proximity voice chat intensifies cooperation, fear, and betrayal
Every expedition is a risk. Every step deeper is a gamble.
Death Collects Its Cut
The land of Goria does not care how you get rich only that you pay what you owe.
Return from a run and sell your findings to the Shopkeeper, a masked merchant who provides tools, gear, and quiet support. But every few days, the Taxman arrives, and he does not negotiate... or maybe he does? Fail to pay and your sentence ends at the gallows.
Decorate Your Hideout
Your hideout starts small and empty, a quiet space beneath the city waiting to be shaped. Bring back rugs, banners, beds, chairs, and other treasures from the tombs to decorate and make it your own.
Find pets to keep you company as you rest and prepare for your next run. Each item adds a touch of comfort and life to this fragile sanctuary in the darkness.

End Of Demo...For NowAs mentioned in our last Blog post, we will indeed be taking down the Begraved demo on July 26th. Demo News! New Dungeons And Events!
Begraved Dev Delve 4:Greetings, GraveboundIt's been nearly two months since our last Vlog so we have a packed one with important and juicy info, so for more visuals and my delightful voice do check it out on Youtube Here otherwise We have the blog breakdown for you to peruse. Demo Take Down For NowNooooooThe demo has served us incredibly well, helping generate buzz and more importantly, giving us a huge amount of valuable feedback over the past four months. However, it’s now quite outdated. Since its release, we’ve been hard at work expanding the game with new dungeons, a complete revamp of the Taxman, and major changes to how gold is earned, along with plenty more additions and improvements currently in our internal test build. So, why not just update the demo? While we did act on early feedback, adding fixes and much-requested quality-of-life improvements, for this next stage we need more focused, dedicated testing before putting out another public-facing demo. Because of that, we feel the current demo no longer represents Begraved as it should. We do plan to update the demo in the future if and when it makes sense. For now, though, our focus needs to be on finishing the full game.Demo close date Don’t panic! If you’re still keen for another run or two, the demo will remain available until 25th July, so there’s still plenty of time to curse Mr. Gibbs for handing you insane monsters for the tenth time in a row.Playtesting? So yup, we’re bringing closed testing back! keep your eyes peeled on 26th July, when the Playtest button will appear on the Begraved Steam store page.If you’d like to get involved even sooner, you can join our Discord and request access there. We’ll assign a special Delvers role to those who sign up, giving you early updates and putting you first in line for upcoming playtest opportunities.Weeping WoodsOur biggest dungeon so far, Weeping Woods brings a very different gameplay experience, with more open areas to explore. It’s been a challenge to ge...Read full article on Community Announcements (Jade - CM)AnnouncementsOfficial
Meet The Grip Jaw Devs
Greetings GraveboundHeya! My name is Mae and I am working as an intern for Grip Jaw! I work mainly as a prop and environment artist, and am a student at Future games. I could not be happier working for Grip Jaw on Begraved and I've had a really great time gaining new experiences. Here are some work in progress things I've created while working on Begraved! I made a painting that the player will be able to hang up in their home. At the beginning we knew we wanted the style of the painting to be reminiscent of the medieval paintings, and so we thought why not have one of those ugly cat paintings? I also added a character from the game (Lulu) to make the painting relate to it more. For this I made a simple model in Blender and drew the art in Krita! Some furniture I made for the player to find and use. I had some cool concept images that I was inspired by and made the model in Blender as well. For the textures I reused a texture we already had in the engine and adjusted it to fit better. Here is a sort of spire stacked with urns, where I created the models of the spires and the urns in Blender. For this I also had to work with blueprints in Unreal Engine to determine the sizes and rotations of the urns when they spawn in the game. Hope you like some of the things that may pop up in Begraved in the future. Ever since I was a child, I've always liked creating art within its different mediums and I used to paint and draw different fantasy worlds, and try to write comics and create short animations. I've always aspired to be a professional artist of some kind, and was inspired by different artists, shows and manga so below is some of my own projects. A 3D model I made based on a cool concept art I found by Mario Manzanares! My journey with game dev didn't start until I was in high school where I went through an art and animations related course. We got to learn the basics of 3D modeling and even got to do a game project together with some other students that were studying ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Jade - CM)AnnouncementsOfficial
Weeping Woods In Progress
The Weeping WoodsGreetings Gravebound, back again with a little mini blog previewing the Weeping Woods, one of two dungeons you will be exploring before unlocking more locations. As mentioned in our last Dev Vlog, the Weeping Woods exist in large part because of the feedback we got from demo players. More variety in starting dungeons was the call, so hopefully we have answered. We had lots of ideas about how to add a new area, maybe spruce up the tutorial, make it a first‑run zone, however, with so many ideas from the team, it quickly became more fleshed out. So now it will have its own unique locations and unique dangers. The Weeping Woods has a definite spooky forest vibe with graveyards and Witches huts rich in atmosphere. - Shauni Shauni has been developing the witches’ hut and trees for the dungeon/area, with typical autumnal colours and very spoopy greens emanating from the hut. It’s going to be a really unique location with a more open‑world feel, but there will be fences and walls guiding players through, so you can’t get too lost. “Within their madness, chained by their sadness, the witches wander the Weeping Woods!”We have a lot to talk about with the origins and lore of the Weeping Woods, so look out for more in the future, but hopefully today’s little preview shows what we are aiming for. As always, any feedback or ideas, let us know. Laters Groobers.Jade - CMRead full article on Community Announcements (Jade - CM)AnnouncementsOfficial
