Embark on a fast-paced adventure where you jump, stomp, and loot through the castle's corridors. Defeat monsters before time runs out and rise to the challenge of becoming its new ruler.

About this game

A gargantuan castle goes on sale for free, but on one condition: you must defeat the castle's owner, Ecrazeus!

Your supermarket empire, Wizamart, has been waiting all this time for the perfect flagship store location, and this castle is second to none! Thus begins your short journey to claim the castle as your own (or for your boss)... even if danger lurks beneath the generous offer.

Experience a Power Trip in a fully 3D action game!

Grind power with various dropped weapons that you can dual-wield, and collect power-ups to increase your stats permanently! Jump, dodge and stomp across multiple areas of the celestial skies, filled with floating islands, treasure chests, and monsters alike... and with good play, tear through the strongest foes with your newly acquired upgrades!

Featuring over 60+ weapons, derived from 8 different weapon types (Swords, Bows, Staves, Spears, Miniguns, Boots, Shields and Pistols), grab and experiment with simple to use but varied weapons, be it a spear that leaves after-cuts, a pair of boots that make you zip wildly, or a sword that creates a super deformed doppelganger!

Fast, Cute and Bouncy, with arcade-like inspirations!

Play as an adorably gifted storeclerk angel, or an equally gifted store owner demon through 3 different courses with fast and loose action! Each course is split into two acts: grinding in the skies before the end of a time limit, and then challenging the course's dungeon with unlimited time. Play at your best in the grinding phase to extend the timer and become even stronger: then, utilize all your acquired strength and loot to overwhelm the course's dungeon and boss!

It's no rogue-like! It's inspired by arcade games! Well... with some random elements, such as room selection, loot drops, and special room events! You can play through each course individually in Quickplay, or, if you're in for a challenge, go through all three courses in a single, continuous run in Quest, where foes become increasingly strong with each room! But the more daring you are, the more points you'll get!

Features:

  • Arcade-like Inspiration: It's not a rogue-like! You can complete the game on your first run, in either a single course mode (Quickplay), or a continuous, three courses in a row mode (Quest), with no mandatory unlocks from previous runs required to win!

  • Cute and Bouncy Characters: Play as a cute angel storeclerk, Faune, or an equally cute demon CEO of a massive shopping corporation, Hime-Alice, and dash, stomp, smash, and push foes away into the void!

  • Dual-Wield 60+ Weapon Variations: Collect and dual-wield from 8 broad weapon types, and utilize their diverse, and sometimes un-optimal effects: shoot beams from a sword, charge a laser beam from a minigun, summon chicken from a staff, and more!

  • Some Randomized Elements: The room selection, weapon drops, special room events, and more, keep each playthrough varied!

  • Unlock Secrets with Achievements: Complete achievements to unlock bonuses such as secret characters, outfits, mini-games, and more! (You can also unlock the rewards without having to complete the task, using currency earned throughout the runs, but you'll still need to accomplish the task for the online achievement.)

  • Online & Local Leaderboards: Challenge yourself and the world with leaderboards for each course and Quest mode!

Soundtrack Release, Personal Thanks, and the future!

Heya! It's been just more than a week since the launch of the game. And good news: the game's profitable! ːsteamthumbsupː Now, it's not selling gangbusters, but it's paid off all the contractor costs (music, announcer and localization), and there's a decent enough profit margin from it, even with purchasing power conversion. Thankfully, I don't have to live off of this, since I've got a IRL job.The game's (almost) reached... 2000 copies sold! It's off by 50 copies, but it'll get there. :)Soundtrack Release!Speaking of contractors, the music composer for the game, Arno Cyreus, has released the soundtrack for the game. You can check it out on their Bandcamp: https://arnocyreus.bandcamp.com/album/ecrazeus-castle-ostAlternatively, you can listen to the soundtrack over on Youtube: If you wish to support the artist, consider purchasing their album from their Bandcamp. He was a pleasure to work with.Press KitWhile we're with the external links, if you're into making youtube thumbnails, or need some official renders for whatever purpose, feel free to check the Press Kit OneDrive of the game.Post-Release ThoughtsEarlier on, I was reticent to even check any of the Steam related feedback areas, like discussions and the reviews. And technically, I still don't have enough confidence to do so at the moment, although I get relayed info here and there through family members.Patching... patching... patching...Yeah, unfortunately the game wasn't in the most ideal state at launch, especially performance wise (I'm sorry portable gamers, it's unlikely it'll ever perform well, even though it'll do wonders on such platforms). Some patches even broke existing systems (like, enemies being able to deal damage) due to how quickly I was patching them (and unfortunately with barely any testing). The RPG Developer Bakin engine is still a pretty new engine in the grand scheme of things, and it was definitely NOT designed for the type of game I made. I mean it's probably better than those pros on Twitt...

    v216 Patch

Small update. Fixed a bug with one of the two Expert course final bosses from being locked on with pistols. Adjusted the level geometry a bit in the second room of Expert course to have the player facing the teleporter after warping through the optional room.

    v215 Update

Small update. Performance alteration (I don't dare call it a performance boost anymore because it feels like Placebo at this point...) to attack hitboxes (both allies and foes). This seems to be a bit better than after the Bakin 2.6 update, which seems to have added some major lag to each hit. Timer should immediately freeze upon touching a door now. Enemies will now vanish immediately upon touching a door, preventing a weird bug where enemies harass the player in the Expert Course.

    v214 Update

RPG Developer Bakin 2.6.0.1 update, apparently fixes a bug with map preload crashes. Update is big because it had to redo the meshes / normals due to an unrelated bug fix.

    v213 Update

An emergency update. Fixed enemy attacks not landing at all due to the previous update's attempt at optimization. Apologies for the trouble, but v212 scores will need to be wiped from the online leaderboards, especially those arena scores.
