Explore the hidden corners of Montreal as you navigate political intrigue and personal horror in Vampire: The Masquerade — ETERNAL WHISPERS, a narrative-driven CRPG from Flyos.
About this game
Montreal has changed.
The Sabbat is gone. New powers rule from the shadows. Old loyalties have decayed beneath neon lights, abandoned cathedrals and the ruins of forgotten faiths.
You are Gabe, a vampire awakened from decades of torpor with fractured memories and a past buried deeper than the dead. Guided by Sam, a reluctant Thin-Blood, what begins as a hunt for a rogue ghoul spirals into a dangerous conspiracy tied to the Temple of Eternal Whispers, a vast underground cathedral built in devotion to a forbidden faith.
Your return was no accident.
As you investigate the mystery surrounding your forgotten past, you uncover disturbing truths about the Sabbat. Your release sets forgotten forces into motion, while something ancient still lies buried beneath the city, a secret capable of reshaping Montreal’s undead society forever. The deeper you delve into your connection with the Temple of Eternal Whispers, the more you unravel the darkness buried within yourself. Will you embrace the monstrous legacy of your Sabbat origins, or fight to preserve the last remnants of your humanity?
A Narrative-Driven CRPG
Vampire: The Masquerade — ETERNAL WHISPERS is a rich narrative-first CRPG built entirely around story, characters, and player choice.
Set in a dark contemporary world driven by political intrigue, moral ambiguity and immersive investigations, Eternal Whispers places roleplaying and consequence at the heart of the experience. There are no traditional combat encounters, but players remain free to pursue violent, manipulative, or ruthless approaches through the choices and paths offered throughout the game.
Every conversation, alliance, betrayal or act of violence shapes the path through the story. Your choices shape relationships, uncover hidden truths, and influence how the world reacts to you, opening or closing opportunities along the way.
Fail Forward Storytelling
Its demanding, uncompromising narrative is built on fail-forward design.
Botched negotiations, broken promises, missed clues and reckless decisions do not stop progression, they transform the narrative, opening new consequences, tensions and paths through the story.
Every success has a cost and every failure leaves a scar.
Investigate the Shadows
Uncover fragmented truths of your past through exploration, dialogue, eavesdropping and environmental storytelling as you piece together scattered clues hidden throughout Montreal’s underworld. Navigate deception, manipulation, and unreliable memories in a city where every conversation conceals another secret and every discovery carries consequences.
Not every mystery has a clear answer. Not every truth should be uncovered.
Build your kindred, shape your fate…
Immortality comes at a cost.
Struggle to preserve your humanity while confronting trauma, obsession, hunger and the brutal politics of vampire society. Begin your journey by fully customizing your character’s appearance and attributes, then shape your destiny through the choices you make, whether you embrace the ruthless paths of the Sabbat or fight to preserve what remains of your humanity.
A Distinct Vision of the World of Darkness
Born from the critical and commercial success of Vampire: The Masquerade — CHAPTERS, Eternal Whispers builds upon an established narrative and artistic foundation while expanding the World of Darkness into a rich narrative CRPG experience.
Its gothic visual identity draws inspiration from dark illustration, concept art, and gothic architecture, blending contemporary urban decay with surreal underground sanctuaries hidden beneath Montreal.
Developed by a hybrid team experienced in both board games and video games, Eternal Whispers combines systemic roleplaying depth with handcrafted narrative design to create a cohesive and uncompromising vampire experience.

Things You May Have Missed In The Announcement Trailer
If you’re here, you’ve probably watched the game announcement trailer when it dropped on June 7th, 2026 – two whole months ago now.Whether you’re normal and watched it once OR a complete Eternal Whispers-head already and have watched it too many times to count – here are some intriguing morsels of detail from the trailer that you may have missed…Quite a few people worked on this trailer, including Flyos’ Creative Director Gary Paitre. Work from concept to the finished version took just under two months to complete – the team knew the importance of this first introduction to Eternal Whispers, and it needed to be just right.Let’s start with the opening cutscene, shall we?From the very beginning, we wanted the announcement trailer to be built around a single continuous shot, so we could tell several things at once without ever losing focus on the main character. Immediately hitting that dramatic sweet spot that VTM fans adore. The version of Gabe shown in the trailer is, of course, just one possible representation, since the character is fully customizable – for more on this, we urge you to read the last Steam post about Building Your Protagonist. The idea was to follow Gabe’s transformation, from death to rebirth as a vampire, while staying extremely close to their face and eyes to capture as much emotion as possible. Around them, the shot also had to reveal the Sabbat, establish the location, and gradually suggest Gabe’s inner realisation. No matter how horrifying what has happened to the character may be, there is an intoxicating feeling that comes with this newfound power. It was a very direct way of introducing a dark, visceral, and highly stylized vision that we want Eternal Whispers to embody. This sequence started with hand-drawn sketches, before moving into previsualisation to carefully define the positioning, camera movement, and rotations. We then shot the entire performance using motion capture, including body, hand, and facial capture to preserve the most n...Read full article on Community Announcements (hermionekw)AnnouncementsOfficial
Answering Your Questions
Thank you for joining us and asking your biting questions, Kindred. We have compiled the answers from Gary and Thomas for you to read… Leaning Into GameplayFailing forward is a key part of the Eternal Whispers experience: Some events will naturally keep moving in a certain direction regardless of your actions and characters have their own goals, agendas, and motivations. That being said, the core idea behind our fail-forward approach is that there's rarely just one ‘correct' way to progress. Succeeding at something isn't always the best outcome. Sure, you can solve a problem by punching a Brujah in the face, but if you're trying to build trust or pursue a diplomatic path, that ‘success’ may end up creating bigger problems down the road.Likewise, failure isn't simply a dead end. We try to make failing interesting, with unique animations, dialogue, story beats, and consequences that can lead to entirely different situations. It's another branch of the story rather than the end of it.As for voice acting, it is definitely part of the plan. At launch, the omniscient narrator will be fully voiced in both English and French – it's actually the same voice actor. As for additional languages, and potentially expanding voice acting further, that'll really depend on how well the game performs after release. Player choice is one of our pillars. Your decisions shape relationships, open and close quests, influence how factions and characters see you, and can lead to very different outcomes. We wanted your choices to matter throughout the entire game, not just during the ending. As for consoles, we're fully focused on PC right now. We'd love to bring the game to consoles later on, and if the PC launch is successful, that's definitely something we'll be exploring with our publisher.V5 has been a major source of inspiration for us, especially when it comes to the Hunger system. You'll definitely recognize many mechanics and ideas from the tabletop game, including Hunger and its consequ...Read full article on Community Announcements (hermionekw)AnnouncementsOfficial
Building Your Protagonist
Your experience in Eternal Whispers starts with creating your very own Gabe. Who is Gabe? They are our protagonist, the leading character in Eternal Whispers, who you’ll be sticking with throughout the story.Despite not outrightly having a fully customisable character, the creation of Gabe homes in on who you wish them to be, what kind of journey you want to be guiding them on – building their narrative before you’ve even begun. The character creator offers extensive physical customization, allowing you to shape a Gabe that feels uniquely yours while remaining faithful to the game's artistic direction. You will be able to customize a wide range of visual elements, including:Body type and buildFace shapeNoseSkin toneEye shape and eye colorHair optionsFacial markingsGlasses and accessoriesEach facial category offers numerous options, allowing for meaningful personalization without being too overwhelming. For those of you who prefer to jump directly into the game, four curated presets are available – two masculine and two feminine. These presets represent the artistic vision of the development team and showcase the visual style they believe best fits their notion of Gabe. You are free to choose both Gabe’s body type and gender identity independently, and the game acknowledges these choices appropriately throughout the experience. All Gabes are welcome here.Appearance is important for identity and physicality, but it does not amount to all you can customise your Gabe with. Immediately after defining your Gabe's appearance, you’ll move to build their character sheet – an amalgamation of attributes, merits, skills and flaws that will mean just as much to the story, if not more.Gabe begins the game as a Caitiff. Having been Embraced during a Sabbat mass ritual involving multiple vampires, your Gabe has no knowledge of their sire (yet) and no identifiable clan lineage. This narrative choice gives you complete freedom to define the character from the very beginning. This is your...Read full article on Community Announcements (hermionekw)AnnouncementsOfficial
Dev Diary – Visual Identity | Part Three
Thanks for returning,In our final part of this Dev Diary, we explore important spaces for the narrative, along with the development of UI elements. Our inspirations are important, but a key part of our goal is to be distinct in what Eternal Whispers will be for players – experience and art style alike. The Sabbat’s Remains Beneath the CityMontreal still bears the scars of its Sabbat history. The Sabbat may have disappeared from the city's political structure, but its architecture, former territories, and rituals continue to haunt the underground. During the game’s prologue, players discover the “Hollow,” an enormous chamber where members of the Sabbat once gathered and tortured their victims. This gothic underground architecture must give the faction an immediately recognizable identity. It represents a world that has supposedly disappeared, but whose traces are beginning to resurface. Gabe is personally connected to that legacy. Embraced during the Sabbat era and neutralized on the same night, they awaken in a transformed city. They may choose to embrace what they were originally intended to become or attempt to find a place within the Camarilla. This tension is reflected in two of the protagonist’s relationships. Sam may represent a path closer to humanity, while Toy connects the character more directly to their Sabbat heritage.Toy originates from the established lore of Vampire: The Masquerade and the Montreal by Night sourcebook, published in 1997. Reinterpreting a character who already exists within this universe requires us to respect his established identity while giving him a distinct, contemporary, and immediately readable presence within our game.An Elegant Interface for a Monstrous WorldArt direction does not end with environments and characters. The user interface (UI) is an integral part of the game’s world. We have chosen a palette built primarily around black, copper, and touches of gold. We want to move away from deliberately trashy or heavily blood-so...Read full article on Community Announcements (hermionekw)AnnouncementsOfficial
Dev Diary – Visual Identity | Part Two
Welcome back,In the first part of this Dev Diary (if you haven’t read that, we recommend you read it here), we introduced you to the origins of Eternal Whisper’s identity from CHAPTERS, as well as how we are framing Montreal in this digital space. This time, we are going to explore specific places, inspirations, and methods for curating the art of Eternal Whispers. Remember, we want to show you the game as it is being made. Some scenes are already close to our final vision while others are still going through iterations. The magic of game dev is that you can peel back the curtain and peek at the world coming together.Sam’s Haven: A Place That Evolves with the PlayerBetween missions, players return to Sam’s Haven.Sam is a Thin-blood who lives beneath a small neighborhood bookshop selling somewhat antiquated books. The store does not attract large crowds, but it belongs to the local landscape. It is the sort of place residents are proud to have in their neighborhood, even if they do not visit it often. That discreet presence provides Sam with a believable front while protecting her from unwanted attention. During the day, Sam’s accomplice Jade runs the bookshop and helps protect her secret—though Jade has an agenda of her own, which you may uncover over the course of the game. Once the store closes, Sam is free to pursue her nocturnal activities with you at her side. At first, however, you are more of a burden than a partner. You’re the new Kindred in town, placed under her watch by order of the Sheriff. As a Thin-blood, her safety and status within vampire society remain precarious. However, she has earned a certain degree of respectability through the concoctions she creates using Thin-blood Alchemy. The Haven was designed to be much more than a menu between missions. It is a narrative environment in its own right, where players will be able to:Get Alchemy concoctions from Sam;obtain equipment and resources;examine the evidence board summarizing previous events;uncover...Read full article on Community Announcements (hermionekw)
