About this game
Welcome Initiate.
Your job is simple. Destroy cities. Harvest chaos. Summon an incomprehensible cosmic entity to swallow all of existence and end everything as we know it. We operate remotely, so you're working from home. It's less of a policy and more of a structural integrity issue. Point your mouse at buildings and reduce them to rubble. You'll pick it up fast.
Every demolished structure is another bite-sized offering for the Great Devourer we call Dad. Once the buffet's big enough, he'll show up and handle the rest. Some people call that cosmic horror. We call it space magic. Same thing, better branding. Get to work.
Destroy Cities & Harvest the Chaos
Wield unimaginable cosmic powers (and your mouse) to demolish ever-expanding cityscapes across 40 levels of escalating carnage. As you feed the Great Devourer with the Chaos of your rampage, you will be blessed with Tokens and the honor of taking on greater challenges. Be sure to use those tokens wisely because as the cities get bigger the buildings get tougher.
Upgrade Your Abilities & Wield Powerful Relics
Do what any red-blooded cultist would do. Turn destruction into profit. Spend Tokens in the shop on permanent upgrades, powerful Boons , and special Relics that make each night of devastation more lucrative than the last. Recharge your Relics between runs and watch your power compound like interest on a really evil savings account.
Unlock Elemental Status Effects
Wield the power of Relics, ancient artifacts granting abilities that turn you from a humble cultist into a walking apocalypse. Are those dusty old relics not enough power for you? Choose a Relic you want to make permanent and sacrifice the unworthy ones to the Void. Think of it as a terrible gift exchange...with an eldritch horror. Still thirsty for power? Can't wait for the big guy to show up? Unlock his lesser gods, each packing elemental status effects, spectacular special attacks, and valuable currencies of their own.
Finish the Ritual & Summon The Devourer
As the gaping maw of the nameless terror closes around the earth, you realize summoning it was never really about a higher calling or material wealth. You might've just been bored, and following a crowd is easy.

Update Notes for Version 1.5.0
Attention, fellow cultists. The Devourer needs a hug. We've had a few fun weeks since our last update working on adjustments and new mechanics and visuals. We are starting to get more and more coverage of the game by content creators on YouTube and are always delighted to get the chance to see people enjoying the game. A special shout-out to @GrayStillPlays on YouTube for doing a fantastic video this week. We'd recommend everybody check out the video and his channel. The big news this week is that our old galaxy upgrade visualization has been replaced by a brand new beautiful sigil design with some unsettling animations and sound effects. The Devourer approves. While we loved the old galaxy design, this new format is designed to be more usable and to really show your progress and what you upgraded through the levels. Even bigger news than that is our new upgrade mechanic and visual in The Chosen mode. While The Spoiled mode retains the current random 3-upgrade selection, we experimented with a new concept in The Chosen mode. We've been hearing a lot of feedback that players would like to have more control over the path of upgrades they choose, especially as the shrines and new upgrade options unlock. So after some playtesting, we created the new radial upgrade selection panel where you can choose any of the available upgrades whenever you want. The only rule is that you can only choose the same upgrade once per level. This rule was already in place behind the scenes in our select-3 mode for the best upgrades with a backend cooldown function. We feel this gives more transparency to how that mechanic works but allows you more options so you don't have to rely on RNG. Give it a shot and tell us what you think. Thank you again to all of you who are still discovering and playing the game. We are learning so much from this process and love adjusting and tweaking everything to make the best experience possible. Update Notes for Version 1.4.1
Attention, fellow cultists. The Devourer has been busy redecorating. This update is all about making the experience during the destruction screens and between rounds feel better. We wanted to give some rewards for clearing the map and make it a fun moment. We also noticed that the upgrade menu was missing some feedback. So we've stuffed it full of new widgets, sounds, and a couple of quality-of-life improvements that we think make the whole loop feel more satisfying. Rubble Rewards Card The biggest addition is the Rubble Rewards Card, a loyalty card that tracks your map clears during gameplay. Clear enough maps and the card fills up, awarding you a bonus token. Each circle punches in with a particle burst and a sound cue, and when the card fills completely, the whole thing lights up gold with a full-screen particle effect. It's a small thing, but it gives you something to chase beyond just the XP goals, and it feels great when it pops. Permanent Relics & Arcana Obscura The upgrade menu now shows your permanent relics in a dedicated grid. Hover over any of them and the matching node in your spiral galaxy bounces so you can find it. We also added a tips widget called Arcana Obscura that rolls a new strategic tip every time you visit the menu. New Features New Rubble Rewards Card on the gameplay screen — clear maps to fill the card and earn bonus tokens New Permanent Relics widget on the upgrade menu showing every relic you've made permanent at the altar Hover any permanent relic to highlight its matching node in the spiral galaxy New Arcana Obscura tips widget on the upgrade menu with 50 strategic and flavor tips, rerolling each visit Rubble Rewards Card shows gold visuals and particle effects when filled Rubble reward token earnings now shown on the results screen with a scale-in animation Pause menu during gameplay — press Escape to pause, resume, quit to desktop, or return to main menu Mode names updated: Strategic → "The Chosen", Incremental → "The Spoiled", Zen →...Read full article on Community Announcements (Anchorhead Games)Patch NotesOfficial
Update Notes for Version 1.3.0
Attention, fellow cultists. The Devourer has heard your devotions, and your fingers will be spared. After a fun first week and a half since releasing the game, we've had the chance to gather feedback and take in both positive and negative reviews. The fun part about game dev is that you never stop learning, especially when players get a chance to play your game for the first time. We've been patching a few things here and there, but this update marks a bigger change to how the main attacks work in the game. In the previous version, you had to click and hold on a building to get the full attack damage and proc some of the relics and effects in the game. You could also at any time do a partial click to receive a small but upgradeable portion of the click damage amount. The partial click was always meant to be an alternative to the main click-and-hold functionality. We saw that some players were stressing because they thought the partial click mode was the primary mode and the game required a breakneck pace. We also realized that the click-and-hold mode, while more powerful, especially when you max out the speed halfway through, wasn't providing a fun alternative. In fact, it could be more stressful having to click correctly on the building and hold it there. So we've made a big adjustment to that control scheme. By default, you can now just hover over a building to charge up an attack — no click and hold required. If you hover off the building midway, it takes the damage at the level it charged to. You can still click on the building at any time to perform a "Quick Strike," our new name for the partial click. These Quick Strike clicks have their own percentage of total damage and can be upgraded just like before. We did not remove the old click-and-hold mechanic entirely. If you preferred it the old way, you can still enable it in the start screen settings menu. After playtesting this hover-to-attack mode for a few days, we feel the game experience has improved dramat...Read full article on Community Announcements (Anchorhead Games)Patch NotesOfficial
