About this game

🚀 Game Title: Delta-4: Terminal Protocol

Genre: Sci-Fi Survival • Interactive Fiction • Terminal Simulation
Developer: Ignivar Technology Solutions

About the Game

The year is 2139. Earth is gone.
You awaken aboard the X-Delta-4, a refugee ship built from scrap and computer parts — drifting aimlessly toward Mars. A catastrophic hull breach has wiped out the crew. The only functioning system left is a battered command terminal in the crew quarters… and you.

Using your limited technical skill and intuition, you must bring the ship back online, uncover what happened, and survive long enough to complete the mission.

Every command matters. Every log tells a story.

Features

🖥 Immersive Terminal Interface
Experience the entire game through a simulated operating system — type commands, read system logs, navigate directories, and unlock secrets hidden deep within the ship’s core.

💾 Fully Simulated File System
Explore subsystems like Engineering, Oxygen Scrubbers, Life Support, and CryoBay. Each contains files, logs, and encrypted data that piece together the fate of the X-Delta-4 and its lost crew.

🧠 Dynamic Narrative
Unravel the story through text logs, system readouts, and corrupted communications. Every discovery reveals more about the ship’s mission — and the mysterious force that destroyed Earth.

⚙️ Realistic Command Environment
Navigate the system like a true operator. Use familiar Linux-style commands (ls, cd, cat, vi, top, etc.), view processes, decrypt manifests, and reboot subsystems.

🎧 Atmospheric Sound Design
Minimalist ambient sound and subtle system noises create a sense of deep-space isolation. Every beep and flicker adds tension as oxygen dwindles and power fades.

💀 Survival Under Pressure
Your oxygen levels are constantly dropping. Repair life support, reroute power, and keep the ship alive — or watch it die around you.

Story Teaser

The X-Delta-4 was never meant to fly.
It was built by survivors — engineers, hackers, refugees — all fleeing the ruins of Earth.
Now, drifting in the void, one survivor remains.
The ship’s systems whisper of sabotage, hidden experiments, and forbidden technology.
Somewhere in the engineering subsystem, a process named photonminer (PID 4892) quietly drains power…

Can you find the truth before your oxygen runs out?

    Delta 4 - Development Update 7

DELTA-4: TERMINAL PROTOCOLSYSTEM UPDATE RECEIVED... PATCHING TERMINAL INTERFACE... RECALIBRATING SHIP SYSTEMS... STATUS: COMPLETEA new build of the Delta-4: Terminal Protocol Demo is now live! This update is one of the largest passes on the demo so far, with improvements to terminal interaction, subsystem behavior, the solar array sequence, demo progression, widescreen support, stability, and even what happens when you fail to keep Delta-4 alive.Thank you to everyone who has been playing, experimenting, breaking things, and sending feedback. A lot of what changed in this build came directly from watching how players actually interact with the ship.☠ GAME OVER, REIMAGINEDFailure aboard Delta-4 has a little more weight now. When a critical ship system reaches its limit, the terminal begins to shake as the ship fails around you, followed by a new explosion sequence before reaching the Game Over screen. If you've already witnessed your spectacular demise enough times, press Enter to skip the cutscene. We've also fixed a particularly nasty issue where simply sitting at the main menu for too long could eventually kill you.Apparently Delta-4 was getting impatient.Ship degradation now begins only after you start a game, load a game, or begin the tutorial :)📡 LIVE DEMO PROGRESSThe status bar now tracks your progress toward the demo's two major objectives:Stop the rogue engineering process. Reach the Med Bay.Progress updates immediately as objectives are completed, giving you a better idea of how far you've made it into the current demo.Reaching the Med Bay now also triggers a proper Thanks for Playing screen with options to wishlist Delta-4, follow development, provide feedback, or ignore all sensible advice and continue exploring the ship. There may still be things you haven't found.☀ SOLAR ARRAY PILOTING OVERHAULThe solar alignment sequence has been substantially rebuilt.Alignment is no longer a simple positioning exercise. The maintenance craft now has momentum, hull drift, di...

    Delta 4 - Development Update 5

Demo Update – Delta-4: Terminal ProtocolHello Operators,We’ve been hard at work expanding the Delta-4 experience, and this latest demo update introduces several exciting changes that begin to shape the next phase of the game.🔧 Dynamic Backgrounds Now LiveTerminals across the ship are no longer static. You’ll start to notice subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) environmental changes, including animated lighting, system activity, and visual cues tied to the state of the ship. This is an early implementation, but it lays the groundwork for a much more immersive and reactive environment.📝 Persistent vi Sessions (Your In-Game Notepad)One of the most requested features is here. You can now use vi as a persistent note-taking tool across terminals. Start by creating a file using:vi Once created, that file can be accessed and updated across different systems without losing your work. You can easily between the vi window and gameplay to quickly jot down notes or reference already documented notes. This opens the door for tracking clues, commands, network mappings, or anything else you uncover during gameplay.🖥️ New Terminals to ExploreSeveral new terminals have been added throughout the ship. Many of these are early-stage placeholders intended to establish structure for upcoming content. While not all systems are fully functional yet, they give a glimpse into the scale and direction of what’s coming. There are 15 different terminals in this update - see if you can find them all!🚧 Pre-Alpha Content – We Need Your FeedbackA significant portion of this update is pre-alpha, and your feedback is critical. We’re especially interested in:Usability of the new systemsImmersion and feel of dynamic backgroundsHow you’re using (or want to use) the vi editorIdeas for terminal functionality and expansionThink of this phase as exploring a ship still being assembled mid-flight.🎬 Credits Now AvailableWe’ve added a Credits option to the main menu so you can see the people behind Delta-4. It’s a...
