About this game

THE WORLD FORGOT PSARA. PSARA REMEMBERED YOU.

Psara is still there, beyond a black sea, on an island no map or mind can hold for long. When Elias Whitmore begins dreaming of a dead lighthouse and shores that speak in his own voice, he follows the route leading to the island. But its abandoned streets do not merely feel empty. They feel as though they have been waiting for him.

The Dark Forest Calls is a story-driven first-person survival horror game that binds light, sound, and memory into a single threat system. Explore fog-shrouded Psara, reconfigure its failing power network, manage scarce resources, and piece together why the island slipped out of the world's memory.

LIGHT IS NOT SAFETY

Darkness conceals your movement, but it also steals your sight. Restoring a generator can bring doors and machinery back to life and open new routes. Yet every running engine, open flame, and violent sound sends a pulse through the unseen network beneath the island.

Power is both access and invitation. Know when you need the light, and when you need to extinguish it.

SILENCE IS A RESOURCE

The creatures roaming Psara react to light and sound. Running, firing a weapon, knocking something over, or activating a machine at the wrong moment can reveal your position. Read the space, identify your exits, and manage silence as carefully as ammunition.

CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTS

Melee weapons and firearms are powerful, but every confrontation has a cost. Ammunition and healing supplies are limited. Choose your target, control the distance, time each attack, and remember that survival sometimes means leaving a fight unfinished.

NOTHING HERE REMEMBERS THE SAME THING

Psara's zombies are not the result of an ordinary outbreak. Their names and identities are gone, leaving old duties, fears, hunger, and fragments of ritual to reshape what remains.

Some carry light. Some guard a door or machine without end. Others awaken bodies that should have remained still. Before committing to a fight, learn what the creature in front of you is still trying to repeat.

READ THE ISLAND PIECE BY PIECE

Search the harbor, fog-bound settlements, power facilities, mountain passages, and underground tunnels. Conflicting journals, maintenance reports, clinical records, and voice recordings recount Psara's final days from different points of view.

No document tells the whole truth. Neither does Elias.

YOU ONLY HAVE WHAT YOU CAN CARRY

Divide limited inventory space between weapons, ammunition, fuel, medical supplies, keys, and objects that matter to the story. Use the power network and the tools you discover to reach sealed areas. Decide what to leave behind without knowing what the next path will demand.

ANSWER THE CALL

The evidence you uncover, the accounts you trust, and the memories you choose to preserve will change the meaning of your final decision.

Psara was forgotten for a reason. Some places should remain forgotten. Some mistakes refuse to be.

The Dark Forest Calls Demo — The Nightmare Begins Again

THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS AGAIN Psara began calling to Elias Whitmore long before he ever set foot on the island. Rather than presenting a direct chapter from the full game's story, this demo places you inside one of Elias's recurring nightmares. A settlement swallowed by fog, a failing power grid, voices carried from a distance, and streets that should be empty... Everything belongs to Psara, yet nothing is remembered exactly as it was.The nightmare does not reveal the island's secrets. It only teaches its rules: light does not always mean safety, silence can be as valuable as ammunition, and a closed door may buy only a little time. The demo has been rebuilt from end to endThis update is far more than a collection of fixes. Combat, enemy behavior, objective flow, atmosphere, and the closing sequence have all been reworked to better represent the survival-horror experience intended for The Dark Forest Calls.Weightier, more tactical combatMelee weapons and firearms now feel more deliberate and controlled. Ammunition, spacing, and attack timing matter in every encounter. Resources are limited, and killing every creature you meet will not always be the safest choice.Enemies that do not simply forget youZombie pursuit, searching, and obstacle responses have been improved. Entering a building may break line of sight, but if a creature followed you there, a door will not protect you forever. Enemies can break through closed passages and search the area where they lost your trail.Reworked objectives and an expanded finaleThe generator objectives, preparation phase, and horde encounter have been rebuilt around a single escalation of tension. Music, environmental reactions, and on-screen warnings signal the approaching danger one step at a time. At the end of the journey, a new spoiler-free cinematic sequence connects Elias's nightmare to the larger mystery of the full game.Update highlightsRebalanced melee combat and firearm handlingImproved zombie pursuit, area searching, and d...
