Experience the thrill of conquering five ages on fresh worlds each time you play, all within a single evening in Conqueror's Stage. Build and expand your empire with depth and speed, choosing to design or fight across dynamically generated maps for total conquest.

About this game

ALL THE DEPTH. NONE OF THE GRIND.

Conqueror's Stage is a real-time 4X grand strategy game built on one idea: you should be able to finish a campaign in an evening, not a season. A full empire to build, real decisions to make, and a whole world to conquer, start to finish, in a single sitting.

Lead one of eight factions from scattered tribes to imperial power. Build your economy, research your path forward, shape your borders through diplomacy and war, and take the map. Every campaign is a complete story with an ending you actually reach.

A NEW WORLD EVERY TIME

No fixed maps. No scripted history. Every campaign begins on a fresh world with its own terrain, coastlines, mountains, rivers, and choke points. Some worlds are a single continent, others are many, divided by open sea with every shore within reach. Your rivals start where the world places them, and your borders are drawn by the land itself, not by a history book.

And when you want a world of your own, build it. Paint continents onto an open ocean, raise the terrain from coastal plains to mountain peaks, brush in forests, and place each faction and the land it holds. Save it as a template and replay it as often as you like.

No two campaigns ever feel the same.

EVERY DECISION TRADES AGAINST ANOTHER

This is grand strategy with the depth kept and the busywork cut. Found settlements and grow them into cities, knowing every settlement earns income and every soldier costs upkeep. Research technologies that shape your economy, your military, and your reach, where each path you open delays another. Command whole armies across the map as one, with no hex grids and no fixed paths. Forge alliances, declare wars, and negotiate peace as the balance of power shifts around you.

Expand too fast and your economy breaks. Expand too slowly and your rivals pull ahead. The whole game lives in that rhythm between growth, defense, diplomacy, and war, and every choice is one you feel.

FIVE AGES OF WARFARE

Advance your civilization from primitive beginnings to imperial might:

  • The First Age. Scattered tribes, early settlements, and the first struggle for survival.

  • The Ancient Age. Organized armies, early military structure, and expanding territory.

  • The Medieval Age. Stronger settlements, disciplined forces, and territorial pressure.

  • The Renaissance Age. Better tactics, richer economies, and more complex rivalries.

  • The Imperial Age. Disciplined armies, military science, and the final push for domination.

Each age reshapes your campaign and opens new ways to build, fight, and expand.

A MAP ALWAYS WORTH FIGHTING FOR

Your rivals play to win. They gather their strength before they strike, defend real borders, keep their true numbers hidden behind the fog of war, and press every advantage they hold. Outnumbering an enemy still wins battles, but never for free. The map stays contested from the first settlement to the last city.

ONE WINNER. TOTAL CONQUEST.

There is only one victory condition: control every city on the map. No point victories. No partial wins. No time limits. Your rivals will not surrender easily, and the question is never whether you will fight. It is whether you will be the last conqueror standing.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

For grand strategy lovers who want the depth without the time sink, and for anyone who ever bounced off a 4X game because it asked for a hundred hours before it got good. If you want to build an empire, make decisions that matter, and see a campaign through to its end in a single evening, this is your battlefield.

Single-player only. No online requirements. No gacha. Just you, the map, and the will to shape history.

    Update 1.5.0 - Walls & Words

This update gives your empire walls and a voice: forts that shelter whole clusters of settlements from siege, and a diplomacy where rivals can be bought, bound as vassals, or talked out of a war you're losing. Rival powers build forts too, and read yours.HighlightsForts: Build one on a village and every settlement around it becomes untakeable while it stands.Dangerous ground: A garrisoned fort fires on enemy armies crossing its perimeter, and gives nothing back.Your doctrines build your forts: How many you hold, how far they reach, how hard they hit.A living diplomacy: Vassals, tribute, gold gifts, ceded land, and peace offers that are actually weighed.Fog of war is your choice: Turn it off in the lobby and play the whole map in the open.Plus: AI factions that keep fighting their own wars, cheaper Medieval research, and stronger armies in the later ages.New: FortsBuild a fort on one of your villages and it shelters every settlement around it. Forts open in the Ancient Age: Writing sits on every realm's path forward, and completing it hands you your first fort slots. From the Medieval Age on, every doctrine pair you finish adds more. What it protects cannot be touched. While the fort stands, the settlements inside its perimeter can't be besieged or captured at all. An enemy who wants them has to come for the fort first. The host village is the door. The village the fort sits on stays attackable, so a determined attacker always has a way in. They just have to take the hard target instead of the soft ones behind it. If the host village falls, the fort falls with it.Forts are permanent. They can only be built on a village, they can't be moved, and tearing one down costs you: the garrison inside is lost and none of the gold comes back. Only the build slot returns.Where you put one is a real decision. A village with a fort on it stays a village and can't be upgraded to a town while the fort stands. It still counts as support for its neighbours' upgrades. What you send is wha...

    Update 1.3.0: Create Your Map

Create Your Map Now you can build your own world and play it. Set the map size, factions, and their difficulties, then paint your world onto an all-ocean canvas: place land, raise it through the elevation tiers, plant forests, and assign starting factions. Save each map as a reusable template and start as many campaigns on it as you like. Reach it from the New Game lobby, or design a fresh one from the main menu. Interface and quality of life The Escape key now closes one layer at a time: an open panel first, then a selection, then the in-game menu. Closing the Options menu without changing anything is now instant. New setting: adjust how strongly faction colours fill their territory (Options, Display tab). Balance Fixed an issue that let towns be upgraded into cities far too easily, causing runaway city counts. City growth and the pace of advancement through the later ages now match their intended design. Demo The demo now shows the Create Your Map feature, unlocked in the full game. A full announcement with visuals will follow soon.

Update 1.2.1 - Loading Screen and Minor Fixes

A quick follow-up to the Banners of Command update, with a new loading screen and a handful of fixes and tweaks from your first hours with it. New A loading screen. Starting or loading a game now shows a proper loading screen while your world is generated, instead of a frozen window. Balance Citadels are worth the climb. A Citadel's daily income is doubled, so reaching the top settlement tier finally pays off. Cheaper late-game research. Renaissance and Imperial technology costs have been cut, so the last two ages are far less of a grind. Fixes Citadels can be built again. After an upgrade, a city could end up quietly bound to an old hub, which stopped it from ever counting toward a Citadel. This is fixed, and older saves repair themselves on load. The AI keeps advancing. An AI battle line could stall in front of a settlement it could not capture directly. It now marches on to the target that opens up the whole region. Thank you for playing, and for all the early feedback!

Update 1.2.0 - Banners of Command

Take command. This update puts a banner in your hand: plant it and your whole army rallies to it, marches with it, and in the later ages spreads into a battle line you draw yourself. The technology tree has been rebuilt around four war doctrines, the AI now leads its own armies under banners, and no two worlds come out alike anymore. It's our biggest update since launch.HighlightsArmy Flags — plant a banner and your whole army rallies, marches, and forms up under it.Battle Lines — in the later ages, draw the front you want to hold by hand.War Doctrines — the technology tree rebuilt around Strike, Attrition, Position and Sustain.A commanding AI — it leads its armies under banners and battle lines, just like you.A new world every time — continents drawn fresh for each map, from one landmass to many, with real open sea.Plus 8x speed, plunder, mercenaries, banking, and a redesigned technology panel.New: Army FlagsTake command of your army under the banner. Researching Banner Muster (Ancient Age) unlocks your first two army flags.Plant and rally. Plant the flag anywhere you can see and your whole field army enlists under it, forms up in eight companies around the banner, and follows wherever you move it.No more stragglers. Newly trained soldiers march out to the nearest flag on their own, and the army regathers its stragglers every day. Battles, reinforcements and long marches no longer leave your troops scattered. One thing to command. While your army serves under a flag, you move the banner instead of herding soldiers. Disbanding and every other order now live in a single Army Actions panel that opens when you select the flag.Found villages on the march. Flip a flag's auto-found switch and your army settles new land by itself whenever it stands on suitable ground and the gold is there. A flag parked safely behind the lines keeps founding villages even in wartime, so a long war no longer freezes your expansion.More banners in the later ages. Every realm gains a third fla...

    Update 1.1.1

    - A damaged save file no longer crashes the game. If a save ever becomes unreadable (an interrupted write, a disk problem), it is now safely set aside: the slot shows as empty, your other saves are untouched, and the game keeps running instead of crashing when loading or opening the save menu. - Better crash reports. When something does go wrong, the report we receive now tells us what was happening in your game at that moment, which makes finding and fixing the cause much faster. No personal data is included, and crash reporting can be turned off in Options at any time. Thanks for playing, and keep the reports and reviews coming. More is on the way.
