Delve into Camino Ghosts, an action-adventure game where survival hinges on your choices. Explore a post-collapse world, build shelter, and fight anomalies as you seek answers with up to three friends.

About this game

Camino Ghosts is an open‑world survival crafting game that blends a vast environment with supernatural threats.

The world feels familiar — shaped by near‑future technology yet permeated by a strange, unseen force.

Ghosts leave traces everywhere, distort their surroundings, and pose a constant danger to anyone who ventures outside.

Origin of the Ghosts

No one truly knows what triggered the Change. First animals vanished, then people, and eventually entire regions disappeared.

What remained were manifestations that only faintly resemble their former bodies.

Some claim a failed experiment is to blame. Others speak of a tear in something that should never have been touched.

What is certain: the ghosts are spreading, altering everything around them and leaving marks wherever they appear.

Those who survive now try to discover what can still be saved — and whether there is any way to stop the expansion.

A Vast World

Set in the fictional Camino County, the world spans over 120 km² across multiple biomes and is complemented by a large cave system filled with resources, hidden locations, and its own dangers.

Build your base wherever you choose, set up defenses, and prepare for ghost hordes that will challenge you again and again.

Familiar, Yet One Step Ahead

You move through a world that resembles our own time, but is already shaped by the ideas and technologies of a near tomorrow.

Vehicles and Transport Networks

A variety of vehicles are available for your expeditions. Beyond conventional transport, you can use subways and trains that connect key areas and open access to new regions.

Companions With Unique Abilities

Due to the constant presence of ghosts, your companions develop extraordinary abilities.

They assist you in gathering, exploring, or fighting — and can determine your survival in critical moments.

World Tasks and Shared Progress

Beyond personal survival, there are tasks that affect all players.

Facilities such as power plants or water stations must be restored.

Players deliver materials, secure the area, or hold off ghost hordes until the facility is operational again.

With enough collective effort, electricity, water, and other functions return — influencing the entire world.

Dynamic Influences

Weather, darkness, environmental strain, and the ever‑changing impact of the ghosts directly affect you and demand preparation and awareness.

Solo or Together

Experience Camino Ghosts alone or with friends — in co‑op or on dedicated servers.

Choose whether you want to build peacefully or secure entire regions together.

The Core Experience

Camino Ghosts combines familiar survival elements — crafting, base building, exploration, resource management, and constant threats — with an atmosphere shaped by supernatural forces.

Every decision and every preparation determines how long you can endure in this ghost‑ridden world.

Early Access Rewards

During Early Access, there will be exclusive permanent items as a thank‑you to everyone who tests, supports, and helps shape the game early.

    Feature Showcase 5

Hello everyone. As promised, this time you’re getting a look at the 120 km² world — from above. A little bird’s‑eye gift so you can finally see how big, how colorful, and how wild Camino County has become. And to keep things fair, I chose a render texture straight from the editor. No Photoshop, no AI brush magic, nothing polished. For Steam, only the resolution was reduced so the file wouldn’t explode. What you see is the world in its current state. Here and there things will still be improved or changed. You can recognize the different biomes. Those of you who’ve been reading along know: there are five. And yes, the fifth one doesn’t show up on the map because it is… well… special. Roads, rails, paths — some are clearly visible, others still hiding. You can also spot a few villages, towns, and POIs, but far from all of them. At release you can expect over 200 villages, towns, and other POIs, plus various caves, dungeons, hidden places, and of course the cave and subway system. And for the future of the world? I’m already thinking beyond the edge of the map. On paper and in my head, the world is already larger, wider, and enriched with another biome. This map is meant to give you just a small glimpse of how the world is roughly structured. Your ingame map, which you open through the UI, will be more classic and simpler, but at the same time more detailed. It will also track important things for you — for example vehicles you abandoned in the heat of battle or because you ran out of fuel. That’s it for today. A small look from above, a bit of world feeling, a bit of anticipation. Stay curious, stay relaxed, and don’t get lost.

    State of Dev #1

Hello everyone! This time there’s no Feature Showcase. It will take a little longer until enough material has come together and I can process it in a way that truly makes it worthwhile to show you something big. So today, just a small glimpse into what’s happening behind the scenes — a little status report from ongoing development.Last time I told you that work was being done on the sound system. And indeed: it’s now almost finished. A few proper tests are still missing, the usual small fixes, a bit of polishing here and there, but overall the whole thing is standing solid. While the sound system is running its final laps, the workbenches are currently receiving their finishing touches. And meanwhile, I’m letting myself get chased across the world by Mola.Who is Mola? A small, adorable boss lady you’d really like to cuddle — if she didn’t make you break into a sweat at the same time. She’s fast, she’s cheeky, and she clearly enjoys chasing players across the landscape.Yes, bosses are being worked on as well. Pretty ones, less pretty ones, and those you’d rather observe from a safe distance. At the same time, the world itself is slowly receiving its final polish. Adding a few more buildings here and there, placing some cliffs, shaping a few corners — and soon Camino County will reach the point where I can finally show you the full world map. It’s always fascinating to see how many small pieces slowly grow into one coherent whole. That’s it for this first State of Dev. A small look behind the curtain, a few impressions from the ongoing work, and hopefully enough to give you a sense that things are steadily moving forward.Until the next update — stay curious, stay patient, and take care of yourselves.

    Feature Showcase #4

The Little InterludeHello everyone and welcome to another Feature Showcase. Today we have a short edition, just something to bridge the waiting time until the next Showcase. A small snack in between, before we serve a full menu again. Before we begin, a question I’ve been asked several times: “Is there physics on Dings and Dongs?” Yes. Dings and Dongs follow the laws of physics. That concludes our scientific segment.Leveling, Progressing, Moving ForwardMoving on to the actual content: leveling and the different progression systems that accompany your stay in Camino County.Your character has a classic level, just like in many survival and RPG games. You level up, become stronger, tougher, gain bonuses and access to new things. The maximum level is 1000, but don’t worry — everything important unlocks much earlier. The high level cap mainly exists so that even after many hours you still feel progress and your XP doesn’t vanish into nothingness. Then there is the Survival Stage, a system that constantly changes. If you survive, it rises. If you die, it drops. Other factors influence it as well. The higher the stage, the better the loot — but also the tougher the horde. A neat little system that constantly shows you how dangerous Camino County currently is for you.And then there’s the Company Rank. You’re not here just for fun; you’re tasked with sending as many anomalous items as possible to your company. The more diligent you are, the higher your rank — and yes, there are rewards.Behind the Curtain – What’s Happening Right NowBehind the curtain, a lot is happening with the sound system right now. Music clips, ambient sounds, effects on all kinds of objects — all mixed so that action scenes don’t sound like a vacuum cleaner exploding. Once that’s done, the missing workbenches and recipes will be added. After that, everything you need to survive is basically in place: gathering, hunting, crafting, a house by the lake or in the woods, a vehicle in the garage, a cool soundtr...

    Feature Showcase #3

Hello everyone.Welcome to a new Feature Showcase.Today it’s all about the weather, the protection you’ll need, and a few small things that will keep you busy in Camino County faster than you might like.Weather is simply part of any proper survival experience. Besides sunny days, there’s rain, thunderstorms, snow, and fog. And each of them has its own quirks. When it gets really hot, it’s worth staying in the shade. Open fields may look idyllic, but out there the sun can flambé your hat in real time.Rain feels refreshing but makes your clothes heavier and slows you down. Taking them off helps — at least as long as you don’t walk straight into a snow cloud.Heat, cold, rain, snow… everything affects your well‑being, sometimes positively, sometimes not at all.And then there are the biomes.A warm day in the swamp can quickly feel like a free sauna session.Currently, there are five biomes: colorful meadows, forests, snow, swamp, and the areas contaminated by Astral Dust. What is Astral Dust?In a world full of ghosts, you’re constantly exposed to the stuff. The more you collect, the more uncomfortable life becomes in Camino County. In contaminated areas, your exposure rises especially fast. But don’t panic: you can get rid of the dust or slow down its accumulation. For example through Meridians, medicine, or a cleansing ritual. The cleansing removes even the tiniest dust particle but also summons a horde of ghosts. So secure your home first and check your Neyxite‑coated weapons. Nothing is more embarrassing than your blade giving up during the big moment. What is Neyxite?Neyxite is pretty much the most important material in Camino County and one of the reasons you’re here in the first place. You need it for almost everything: crafting, trading, upgrades for yourself and your companion. Sounds like a lot of work? It isn’t. There’s plenty of Neyxite around — as long as you don’t spend the whole day chilling under a tree. You get it from ghosts, treasure chests, quests, or trading w...

    Feature Showcase #2

Hello everyone!Today I’d like to show you a few of the smaller, but definitely not unimportant features. After all, even a good hunter needs a bit of playful fun here and there – otherwise it would just feel like work.Vehicles:Vehicles play a pretty big role in Camino Ghosts. And because of that, you naturally get your own license plate. So start thinking about whether you’re more the serious type or someone who prefers something that makes your friends roll their eyes. Don’t worry, you can change it anytime.Your vehicles also have an inventory so you can transport your valuable materials. Depending on the model, you’ll have more or less trunk space, more or fewer horses under the hood, and of course a different number of seats. And no… passengers do not fit in the trunk. Even if some of you would definitely try.Since vehicles are really important, you should take good care of them. Refueling and repairing before each trip is a very good idea. The world is big – and even the way to the next train station can stretch on forever.Show who you are:A stylish, subtle name tag right at your heart – instead of floating boldly above your head.Blueprints:Blueprints can appear anywhere: dropped by enemies or hidden in chests. They unlock new, fancy things – from fashion for your character to decorations for your home. In short: everything that makes life a little nicer. Not without protection:It’s dangerous out there, so don’t leave the house without weapons. Whether melee or ranged – there’s something for everyone. And since ghosts aren’t exactly impressed by normal kitchen knives, all weapons and bullets have a special Neyxite coating. What Neyxite is? I’ll tell you another time.Plenty of space for all kinds of stuff:The inventory is divided into different groups – health, equipment, scrap. So far, so familiar. The really interesting part is the global inventory: everything that ends up there can never be taken from you, and you can access it from anywhere. It contains all the...
