About this game
A challenging Roguelite, Dungeon crawling Auto Battler.

Yet again a mysterious evil stalks the land and yet again it seems only you can stop it. Everyone says "He is coming" but few say who "He" is. Some say the source of the land's troubles are a dragon or the Devil, others say it's Death itself. The source of the world's woes do seem to emanate from deep beneath a nearby crypt. It is down to you to descend through the bowels of an ever changing dungeon and destroy the foul being at its heart.
Victory will come through planning your route and combats wisely, strategic loot and event choices, daring and a little luck.
Descend through 20 randomised floors across 4 pixel art biomes in this stripped back, fast playing Roguelite. Plan your path wisely, make tough choices and enlist the help of mysterious strangers who wander the dungeon for their own purposes. Some runs will end in failure, but there will always be more heroes to take the place of the fallen.
Battle dozens of unique enemies and discover which of several end game evil beings is controlling them. Then take them down in an epic Boss fight against whichever power is at the root of the darkness. Only the mightiest will survive.
If you do survive your first Descent then 5 further, more brutal Ascension difficulty levels await.
Ever changing, fast paced runs of ~ 30-40 minutes (Should you survive)
Permanently unlock new classes including (Currently 10 classes in game) the armour destroying Vanguard or the nimble Assassin as well as a more than a dozen starting boons to further tailor your run.

Discover countless run altering weapons, armour, trinkets and events.

No two runs will ever be the same and death will be permanent and frequent. Do you have what it takes to go Rogue and descend?

Small Update + News
Meet the Lava Demon.Just a small update this time with some minor balance changes and a couple of loot additions. To go with that, a new enemy stalks the depths of the dungeon from around floor 10-12 onwards. Whilst having no special ability Lava Demons do deal high PHYS and MGK Damage, so care should be taken around them. What's Next?Rogue Descent will keep being supported with updates and events although less frequently as I push on with the next project, something entirely different...A turn based, fast playing, hex and counter wargame with scenarios set between 1945-1990. More info to come in the coming weeks but development is coming along nicely.Read full article on Community Announcements (Chris745)Patch NotesOfficial
New Year mini Update
Happy New Year to you all and thanks for your continuing support. Some minor additions and changes as we descend into 2026.Controls - You can now hold down WASD / Arrow keys and keep moving. No more finger strain! This used to be the case but occasionally created bugs when the player kept moving during screen transitions. Works as intended now.Veteran Boon - Finding the Veterans Sword in the depths will unlock the 'Veteran' starting Boon, a fairly simple one that grants enough XP to level up your chosen character once on run start.Rooms - Added a couple of new rooms, one early game and one late. That's all for now, wishing you a great 2026.Chris.Read full article on Community Announcements (Chris745)Patch NotesOfficial
Winter update and event
Winter updateWhat's new?A new class: Meet the Berserker. Whilst starting with no defences to speak of, Berserker attacks twice each round and can rapidly become extremely powerful. Class unlocked for all at game start.Conflicted Snowmen: Scattered around the Frozen Depths of the dungeon you may come across these somewhat confused enemies. Whilst they are out to destroy you like all the other denizens of the depths, these almost charming enemies just cannot stop themselves from giving gifts at this time of year. Each round of combat there is a chance of them bestowing stat boosts on your character that will last for the entire run. Defeat enough conflicted Snowmen and you could become mightier than ever.Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and happy new Year. Speaking of the new year, watch out for news of a new release from Kudos Games soon...Read full article on Community Announcements (Chris745)Patch NotesOfficial

New Content
New ContentWhat a first week, a couple of troublesome bugs were sent to the depths early on but having talked to several players I am pleased they are having fun albeit some were finding the difficulty a little over tuned. The subsequent changes have hopefully mitigated that and I am grateful of all the feedback which will help the game evolve further. Now onto the news.Added:-New starting class - AcolyteNew early stage enemy - SwarmMore floor layouts in the upper dungeonMeet the acolyte:This intrepid adventure has not yet finished but is desperate to make a descent. Whilst unpredictable due to around a 1 in 4 chance of his spell backfiring, the chance of extra DARK damage output could really tip the balance in the early game. Acolyte comes unlocked for all from the outset.Swarms!Swarms of angry, oversized insects seem to have made their way into the upper dungeon. Not too dangerous these should prove easy targets for a bit of XP.Other changes:Assassin base HP increased from 16 to 18A couple of new dungeon floors have been added to keep things fresh.Slightly reduced enemy spawn rate in the first 5 floors. What's next? The next content update will be around the first week in December, with a new unlockable class, Boon, more floors and a limited time holiday event. Thanks for playing,Kudos Games.Read full article on Community Announcements (Chris745)
