Join the thrill of grid-based naval battles as you and your friends engage in quick-fire duels. Hunt down opponents' ships while defending yours in this action-packed, casual strategy game from 2026.
About this game
Fleet Hunters turns classic grid-based naval battles into fast real-time duels where both players fire at once. Prefer the traditional rules? Switch to Classic Mode and take turns hunting the enemy fleet.
Place your ships, read every hit and miss, and uncover the enemy before they destroy you. Battle the AI, challenge friends, or face other players online in quick tactical matches.
The rules are easy to learn, but every match rewards careful deduction. Misses narrow the search, hits reveal patterns, and well-placed attacks can disable a ship’s weapons before it is completely destroyed.

Fast Real-Time Duels
There is no turn order in Real-Time Mode. Fire whenever your weapons are ready while your opponent attacks at the same time. Every second becomes a race to locate, disable, and sink the enemy fleet first.
Classic Turn-Based Battles
Classic Mode keeps the familiar rules: take turns firing, and every hit earns another shot. Study the board, plan each move, and chain hits into a streak before your opponent uncovers your fleet.
Four Classes, Real Weapons
Carriers, battleships, cruisers, and patrol boats each carry their own weapons, including cannons, rockets, close-in guns, and carrier aircraft. Hits do more than reveal a position: knock out a main weapon and the ship must fall back to a weaker secondary. Where you hit matters as much as whether you hit.
Battle Solo or Multiplayer
Play against the AI, challenge a friend over LAN or in a private online match, or find other players through matchmaking.
Compete and Climb
Enter ranked battles, improve your rating, compare your performance on global and friends leaderboards, and unlock achievements along the way.
Clean, Retro-Inspired 3D Visuals
Readable top-down visuals keep the focus on the battle, with clear feedback for every shot, hit, damaged weapon, and destroyed ship.

A Note from the Developer
Fleet Hunters is a solo-developed indie game built to make hidden-fleet battles quick to learn and tense to play.
Whether you prefer the pressure of simultaneous fire or the familiar rhythm of taking turns, matches stay short, readable, and worth starting again.

Fleet Hunters launches in less than a month
Fleet Hunters launches in less than a month. It has been quiet here since the last update in May, but I have been working steadily toward the full release.I am a solo indie developer, and Fleet Hunters is the first game I have taken from an early prototype all the way to release on Steam. Getting it this far has involved a lot of building, testing, rebuilding, and learning, but it is finally getting close.I released the demo early because I wanted to see how people actually played the game, hear what worked, and find out what should be improved before launch. One request appeared more than any other. Players enjoyed the pressure and speed of the real-time battles, but many also wanted the option to play using familiar turn-based rules. That feedback led to Classic Mode, which will be included in the full release. In Classic Mode, players take turns firing, and every successful hit earns another shot. It brings the familiar hidden-fleet rules into Fleet Hunters alongside its faster real-time battles. What Is Coming at LaunchReal-Time Multiplayer with both fleets fire at once as players race to locate and destroy each otherSingle-Player Battles where you can play against the AI and sharpen your strategyClassic Mode: take turns firing, with another shot awarded after every successful hitSteam Deck Support is available from day oneHDR SupportFull Input Support so you can play with a mouse and keyboard or a controllerSeeing my first game this close to release is exciting, surreal, and honestly a little intimidating.Thank you to everyone who played the demo, shared feedback, reported issues, or added Fleet Hunters to their wishlist. Your feedback has had a real impact on what will be included at launch.Launch party eventI am also preparing a Fleet Hunters Launch Party. I will share more details soon.Fleet Hunters launches in less than a month. Fleet Hunters & Steam Deck: Ready from the Start
I’m a solo indie developer, and the Steam Deck is one of my favorite ways to play games. That made Steam Deck support an easy decision for Fleet Hunters. From the beginning, I wanted the game to feel natural not only on a desktop PC, but also as a handheld game you can pick up, play for a few quick matches, and put down again. The Fleet Hunters demo is available now on Steam, and it is already playable on Steam Deck.Fleet Hunters is a fast, grid-based naval duel built around real-time action. Because the matches are quick, the controls are simple, and the interface is clean and readable, it felt like a very natural fit for the Deck. The full version of Fleet Hunters is planned for release in 2026, and Steam Deck support will continue to be part of the game as development moves forward. If you have a Steam Deck, I’d love for you to try the demo and let me know how it feels.Play the Fleet Hunters demo now on Steam, and wishlist the game to follow development toward the full release.Read full article on Community Announcements (HortoBAM (dev))
