About this game

Can you cook when nothing is given to you?

Isle of Food is an open-world cozy VR cooking game where cooking begins outside the kitchen. There are no ready-made ingredients or shortcuts. To cook, you must explore the island to hunt, fish, gather, and farm everything yourself.

Only what you bring back can be cooked. Each dish is prepared by hand using natural VR interactions, and your progress depends on how well you manage your stylish island restaurant.

The world shapes your menu, and your choices shape the experience.

CORE MECHANICS

✔ VR cooking with natural hand interactions

✔ 100+ real and fantasy recipes

✔ Multiple cooking methods: baking, boiling, frying, grilling

✔ Open-world island exploration

✔ Hunting, Fishing, Gathering, Farming

✔ Day–night cycle and dynamic weather

✔ Restaurant management, upgrades, decorations and progression

MAIN FEATURES

Isle of Food delivers a full hands-on VR cooking experience with simulation-level detail. You slice, fry, boil, bake and plate dishes using precise physical movements, crafting meals from 100+ recipes ranging from real-world classics to fantasy dishes made from rare island ingredients.

Every recipe begins with open-world island exploration. Ingredients must be found through activity: hunt wildlife, track birds, fish along the coast, gather fruits and herbs, or grow your own crops near the restaurant. A day–night cycle and shifting weather affect what appears and when, forming a core part of your cooking progression.

A NEW COOKING EXPERIENCE

Guests set the pace of your restaurant management experience. Each day brings visitors with different tastes — from simple starter requests to complex dishes that require rare ingredients gathered across the island.

Service hours create a natural gameplay rhythm. Peak times reward fast, accurate cooking, while quieter moments let you restock, explore the island or prepare ahead. As your rating increases, guests become more varied and demanding, turning each service into meaningful progress in your VR cooking career.

YOUR PATH AS A CHEF

You begin with a small seaside kitchen and a short menu. Serving guests earns money and experience that unlock new tools, expand your recipes, improve the restaurant interior and refine your overall management strategy.

Reaching the 7-star level is the ultimate milestone. Higher ratings bring tougher orders, stricter ingredient requirements and greater rewards, attracting premium guests who seek the rarest dishes the island can offer. From your first simple meals to a fully developed 7-star restaurant, Isle of Food builds a complete VR cooking adventure you can progress through at your own pace.

Coming in 2026 — ADD TO WISHLIST and don’t miss the launch.

    Hotfix Patch #6 - Minor Bug Fixes & Improvements (5, September, 2026)

Recipe SlicingSlicing is now a more important part of preparing food. All single-ingredient recipes now require the ingredient to be sliced before cooking, with the exception of liquids and eggs.Because asking you to slice an egg felt unreasonable, even by Isle of Food standards. The affected recipes and their instructions have also been updated across all supported languages.New Cooking EvaluationWe've updated the way your finished dishes are evaluated.Cooking results now use the new rating progression:Poor → Tasty → Delicious → ExquisiteAim for Exquisite. Try not to think too hard about what you did to earn "Poor."The system is now separate from our other evaluation systems, giving us more flexibility to expand how cooking performance is judged in the future.Persistent AnimalsAnimals will now properly maintain their state throughout your play session. If you leave an area and return:Animals you've killed will remain gone.Injured animals will retain their remaining health. The number of animals in the area will remain consistent.Male/female animal distribution is preserved.Previously, leaving and returning could result in the local wildlife conveniently forgetting everything that had just happened. The animals remember now. When a new day begins, the world will refresh according to that day's normal spawning rules.Persistent Treasure ChestsTreasure chests have also developed object permanence.Whether you've only discovered a chest, partially dug it up, completely uncovered it, opened it, or already taken its recipe, the game will now remember exactly how you left it.No more digging up half a chest, walking away, and returning to discover that the island has politely buried it again.Fishing ImprovementsFishing now has additional variability to make catches less predictable.Fish can vary in:How far away they moveHow long they attempt to escapeHow long they remain calmIn other words, some fish have now decided to be considerably more annoying than others. As nature intended....
