Venture into IMP, a third-person shooter where you fight alien hordes across desolate moons. Experience the thrill of early access with Hyperjungle's arcade-style action.

About this game

Join the IMP! A forgotten caste of warriors that rise once more to destroy the alien plague that disrupts the Imperial Refineries across the system!

IMP mixes the simplicity of arcade games and the cinematic look of modern titles to bring you the evergreen experience of being a lone space marine fighting hordes of aliens. You will be dropped straight into the fight in levels that change every time you load in.

Prelude

You are the first wave. Your armor is old. Your guns are old. You have no support in the field. None of the fancy gear of the glory days exists anymore. You don't even know if the mission can be accomplished. The citizens of the empire see you as nothing more than a glorified exterminator...

But this doesn't dissuade you! They do not know that for the IMP, the battle is sacred!

The Rise of the IMP

Before the alien plague, the warrior caste of the Orkarian Empire withered in poverty and menial jobs as peace had prevailed for centuries. Now they can join the Imperial Marine Patrol and single-handedly take on entire swarms of alien bugs, saving their Empire millions, and allowing them to bask in the glory of profit!

Beware the cost!

The Orkarian Empire in its benevolence allows these once proud warriors to engage in their craft once more, but not without risk. If you fail, the mission cost will still be deducted from your salary. No one said making a profit was easy!

No One For Miles

The IMP work alone to maximize profit, doing their job in the desolate moons and planets that populate the outskirts of the system. It is here that the Empire extracts precious resources without any regard to the ecosystems.

Retro Philosophy

IMP embraces the offline, single player experience that ruled the video game design landscape of the 80's and 90's. Press start, begin shooting! No sign-in screens, no premium currency ads, no filler!

Join the Journey!

This is but the beginning for IMP! Join a lone developer in early access to see how this game shapes up over the course of 2 years. Supporters are encouraged to submit their feedback and join the community to make this game grow!

    Small update and News!!!

Hello and welcome to all new players! Your support is greatly appreciated!! In this dark age of the game industry, support for small creators goes a very long way. I hope you enjoy that glowy nugget of goodness I know exists within the game. I’m working on the game every day to ensure you get more bang for your buck as the game moves towards final release! Notes about this Small Update: -Some assets were still rendered incorrectly on “imp-o-vision” at the Hyperion IV map and have been fixed. -The player’s light has been tweaked to make it look like it comes off the helmet. -The markers on the compass move a bit smoother now. -The worm’s reaction is a bit faster after being hit. Quick note… The controller is still not supported in-menus, but it is fully supported during gameplay. For some time the firing button wasn't working and that was fixed. Menu support for controllers is coming in the next major update and then I will check the 'full controller support' option on Steam. What's coming? The current big content push is focused on levels. I am working on a new style of level that takes some inspiration from the type of dungeons you'd find in old-school Legend of Zelda - it's not gonna be as puzzly as those but there will be traps, buttons to push, chambers that open up. This type of new map will also introduce boss battles! See if you can unlock the current maps and buy all the gear before these come online! Everything is on schedule with about 1.5 years of development left. I want to think that it can be split into 1 year of a big content push, and half a year of polishing all those things that are quite visibly rough around the edges. I’m also planning some extras only for Early Access supporters so stay tuned!! -Miguel

    Player light fix

The player light has been modified to be a lot further out making it not shine bright on the gun. There was a fill light that was removed and now it is only a spot light. Feels a lot more immersive.

    Better Camera Fix

The player camera has received another update. The big fix here is that the previous update caused other issues that were perhaps worse than the lowering camera bug. As of now the camera will zoom in slightly into the player's perspective near the head when it is close to the wall. I've done a couple missions like this already and it seems to be the best option so far. We will keep an eye on this!

Water glitch fix and No Collision on Player Camera

For a while it has been annoying that when close to a wall, the camera will collide and move down and the view is blocked. Removing the collision seems to fix the problem, although admittedly a true solution might be a bit more complicated than this. We'll see how it goes. The water in the Hyperion III sector was glitching out, as it is a finicky piece of shader/blueprint, that one. On this note there is an unfortunate side effect of the player being split into different meshes for customization - the player no longer creates ripples or splashes on the water. This is being looked into!

Loadout Fix! and Levels now Need to be Unlocked.

The levels are now locked except for the first one. Complete each level and the next one will be unlocked. If you had visited each world before, well, not much has changed. Except now you earn your ticket to them! There was a glaring bug on the Loadout where equipping the gloves would replace the legs, the legs the boots, in a weird loop. That has been fixed! There are 2 remaining Loadout bugs that I still haven't been able to figure out that are: - If you equip any helmet except the default one, when you come back to the loadout the character will be static. If you click on any helmet icon, the animations return. Not game breaking, but a bit annoying. - There is a slight chance that you won't be able to rotate the character in the loadout menu when you return from a mission complete.
