    Early Access 0.48 Update

Hey Folks, Update 0.48 is here, and with it several exciting changes, additions, and bug fixes. This patch sees a complete replacement of the previous system for gaining Class Experience. As the prior system has been a pain point for players recently, we’d talk about some of the changes more in depth and our thought process behind them. Historically we knew that the system being replaced wasn’t anyone’s particular favorite; it was largely the same system that's been in place since before Early Access. What we did not realize was to what extent it was disliked; we hadn't been receiving much feedback about it before Class Progression was implemented, so we thought players were mostly ambivalent about it. Obviously, we were wrong there. It seems like it was only the fact that prior to Class Progression being released, that system didn't need to be interacted with much and so the pain points there weren't made obvious.Luckily, that system was a placeholder and was always meant to be replaced; we only kept it in so that Class Progression didn't get delayed waiting on a new experience gain system to go with it. Based on your feedback though, we moved the new system up in priority and have it for you now. With the new experience gain system, players will gain Experience by dealing damage and healing allies in RvR combat, and shared Experience will be granted from killing players and NPCs and from capturing RvR objectives. We hope that this new system will encourage group play and RvR engagement for both new and experienced players. We will be keeping a close eye on your feedback with how Class Progression feels, the pace at which you level up, and how natural leveling feels in an RvR environment. Additionally, multiple teams have been hard at work improving gathering nodes and XP progression for gathering skills. Players will now encounter a much greater variety in gathering node levels as they explore the world. We've added numerous new leveled nodes, which will appear at ...

    Autumn Roadmap & Production Roundup

Hi Everyone, Production is back again with another roadmap update. As you may know, it’s been a busy summer over here at UCE, and based on your feedback we’ve updated our next phase of the game’s development. There is a lot to cover with our newest roadmap, and every patch will include more in-depth specifics. Today, we wanted to take the opportunity to give a broad overview of what we’re prioritizing internally throughout the Fall, as well as some specifics on important features. The last time you saw a roadmap from us, we were strictly prioritizing new content. That included new classes, zones, and ways to play. Shortly after the launch of Early Access we heard your feedback and immediately pivoted to improving the new user experience. Once that was complete, we then began focusing on improving the core gameplay loop before we expand on it in the near future. We are likely to wrap some of those changes up by the end of Summer, with more on the way through the upcoming Fall. Our current priority is giving players a reason to consistently engage in RvR, which is the core pillar of Camelot Unchained. With recent updates to how character progression works, we have given our system more flexibility to grow and introduce more mechanics going forward. In the near future we will be increasing character level caps. Additionally, we’ll continue to add reasons for crafting and maintaining Realm control over contested areas. Let’s take a quick look at our players' levels. The current level cap of 10 is just the beginning. Beyond level 10, we will require players to conquest beyond the safety of their home to continue to advance. As you advance you will receive bonuses and customization points to give you boosts in and out of combat. These points can enhance your character's playstyle or improve their role in bringing glory to your realm. As we have previously mentioned, our new system will allow us to expand your character level cap over time with interesting and unique ways ...

    Early Access 0.47 Update

Hey folks! Our latest patch for CU, Update 0.47, is here. With this patch, we’re introducing item drops from enemy mobs, some changes to gathering and crafting experience, as well as tweaks to the formula for Class Progression. Additionally, players can expect to see visual overhauls throughout Silvermine Mountains and Yggdra Forest. This is in addition to performance and quality of life improvements to various UI elements, as well as some bug fixes and tweaks to class abilities. The first big change we’re making to how gathering works is introducing a better curve to leveling these skills, which should make the first several levels go by much more quickly, with the higher levels taking slightly more time to get through. To speak a bit more to the future plans for gathering, we intend to introduce various bands of leveled nodes at different PoIs, which means implementing more nodes with level requirements. These higher level nodes will have higher XP yield and provide a higher quantity of resources. In the future, these nodes will also include higher quality of resources. This will make the leveling curve feel even better. With regards to the Class Progression system, we’ve heard your feedback on the current rate at which you earn experience. The existing methods to level up (through ability usage) serve as a placeholder that we have plans to iterate on in the near future, including different and more intuitive methods of gaining experience. As an example, in the future you’ll earn experience from enemies killed both in PvP and PvE, as well as from Points of Interest that you capture. In the meantime, we hope that the newly added boost to XP when fighting other players will encourage utilizing RvR as a means of leveling, rather than something to do once you’ve already hit max level. In addition to these changes, we expect to increase the speed of low level experience gain in a future update, to make the first five levels move more quickly and get you introduced to mor...
