You run a small game shop. Your job? Buy low, sell high, and try not to go bankrupt.

A love letter to the game shops of our childhood
I always dreamed of running a game shop.
The one in my neighborhood was more than a store—it was where I discovered my love for games.
But times changed. Those shops slowly disappeared, and with them, a piece of gaming culture.
Why did they fade away? That question inspired this game.
"Sunset Game Shop Shayou" is my way of preserving those memories.
I hope you'll give it a shot.

Major Update Now Live! New Era Presets and a Quick Sales Sequence Option for Smoother Play
Major Update Now Live Thank you for playing “Sunset Game Shop Shayou.” This update introduces Era Presets that let you start from your preferred era, an option to speed up sales sequences, and clearer information to help you review your management results. Start From Your Preferred Era You can now select 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, or 2005 from “Start From Era” on the title screen. Even if you do not have existing progress for an era, select “Start from Preset Data” to begin immediately with a shop configured for that period. You can jump into later years and their events without playing through all 25 years from the beginning. Note: Starting from preset data will overwrite your current Continue data. Please check before starting. Added a “Quick” Sales Sequence You can now switch the “Sales Sequence” setting between “Normal” and “Quick.” “Quick” skips commentary and battle sequences to move through sales faster. Changing this setting does not affect your sales results. See What Affected Your Sales The sales results screen now displays up to two of the main factors that affected each result. Messages such as “Far above forecast,” “Overstock,” “High price hurt sales,” and “Campaign boost” make it easier to plan your next purchases and sales strategy. Improved Play Time Tracking We have revised the play time shown in the ending and Records Room. Instead of estimating it from the number of turns played, the game now tracks the time you spend playing. Save data created in earlier versions remains compatible with this update. Improved Startup and Rendering Stability We have added safeguards against black screens and rendering freezes reported on some systems. If the game detects a problem, it will restart in Safe Mode with different rendering settings. Upcoming Update PlansWe’d like to keep improving Sunset Game Shop Shayou little by little into a game that’s easier to play and makes you want to run the shop again and again. As the developer, I’m quite fond of this game myself.For the next update, our goal is to let you freely choose both the pace of play and where in the timeline you want to start, even within the same shop-management experience.Keep the satisfaction of making sales while moving through them more quickly, or jump into your favorite era and take on a fresh run. We’re currently developing two features that will let you enjoy the game in slightly different ways than before.Here’s an early look at what we’re working on!A Mode That Simplifies Sales AnimationsWe plan to add a “Simplified” mode that lets you move through the sales phase at a faster pace.You’ll be able to switch between “Normal / Simplified” from the CONFIG screen. In Simplified mode, the sales animations will be skipped.The sales results themselves will be exactly the same as in Normal mode, so you can choose Normal if you want to enjoy the animations in full, or Simplified if you want to keep things moving quickly.We also plan to add a hint feature to the sales results screen to help explain the outcome.Start From Your Favorite EraWe’re also preparing a feature that will let you start the game from a later era.We plan to prepare preconfigured progress data and presets for each era, allowing you to choose the era you want and start from there. This has now been fixed, and the update settings have been adjusted so existing save data will not be overwritten during updates.
