About this game
Play as Hemwick, a veteran hunter forced to return to the life he left behind. Drawn back by his own conscience, he sets out on a final and dangerous journey: to uncover the truth behind the Grim Heart and decide the fate of a world consumed by decay.
Combat in Grim Heart rewards observation, timing, and preparation. Study your enemies to uncover their weaknesses, adapt your loadout, and combine weapons and techniques to overcome increasingly dangerous encounters. Every enemy can be learned and every mistake can be punished.
Travel through a handcrafted 2D pixel-art world overtaken by plague, ruin, and unnatural corruption. From abandoned settlements to cursed wilderness, every area hides secrets, dangers, and fragments of a collapsing history waiting to be uncovered.
At the center of the world’s decay lies the Grim Heart — an ancient and mysterious artifact said to hold the power to reshape fate itself. As Hemwick moves deeper into the unknown, the line between salvation and destruction begins to blur.

1000 WISHLISTS IN ONE WEEK and STEAM NEXT FESTGrim Heart: Bleak Laments has reached 1000 wishlists on Steam in just ONE WEEK!When I put the Steam page and demo out there, I genuinely wasn't expecting this. This is my first game, my first time publishing something on Steam and I'm making Grim Heart as a solo developer. Seeing more and more people discovering the game is absolutely incredible.I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Grim Heart so far. I've spent 2-3 years working on Grim Heart, often wondering whether anyone would actually care about this strange little game I've been building. And now there are 1000 people who discovered it!That's honestly surreal. But there's more good news. Grim Heart: Bleak Laments is officially registered for Steam Next Fest, starting October 19th!And I don't want to bring the exact same demo. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to be working on an extended and improved demo with more content, a few more weapons, additional spells, new charms, a nicer tutorial area and plenty of polish and fixes. At least I'm planning to. I just want the Next Fest demo to be a much better representation of what Grim Heart is becoming.
