About this game
Combat System
Parasite Mutant uses ATC (Active Time Chains) which combines the popular Active Time Battle system used in RPGs of the late-90s and a 3-segment chain system. Players will need to time their actions on each segments and decide whether they want to save their energy and do a chain release.[/p]As the gauge fills up, players will need to dodge enemy attacks and launch their attack at the best possible time.
We hope that this little innovation of ours will bring an enjoyable and pleasant gameplay experience to our players.
Art Style
Parasite Mutant uses a semi-realistic anime art style and utilizes modern rendering techniques to give our players a HD visual experience. Additionally, we have introduced a retro filter and CRT filter to bring players back that late-90s to 2000s vibe.Setting
Parasite Mutant is a survival horror game with a diverse array of horrifying mutants. In the game, players will solve various puzzles in search of answers and maybe uncover the horrifying secret of this universe.Level Up System
Parasite Mutant uses the classic equipment progression system. Players can attach various modules onto their equipment, or enhance their equipment using Plus Points that can be obtained through combat.New Game+
Parasite Mutant has a New Game+ mode that allows players to inherit Plus Points from their previous playthrough. The New Game+ mode unlocks new locations where players have to continue to strengthen themselves and complete the final challenge.Outfit System

June 29 – Development Update for Parasite Mutant
Dear players who have been following Parasite Mutant for a long time,We sincerely apologize for the lack of updates recently. We have been fully focused on development and only now managed to take some time to share the current status. The overall level flow of Parasite Mutant is now fully playable from start to finish. We are currently in the final polishing phase, working on story segments, New Game+ variations, item balancing, enemy stats, and overall combat tuning. However, we must admit that we underestimated the scale and complexity of the project. As a result, the release of Parasite Mutant will be delayed. We kindly ask for your patience for a few more months. The current target release window is September to October this year. The exact release date will be finalized after console submission and certification, and will be announced roughly three weeks before launch. This may create the impression of long silence followed by a sudden release date announcement, which is mainly due to the lack of a dedicated PR team.Below are some development clips:Combat demonstrationWorld map selection screenNG+ area: Sky Garden — an 81-floor tower, each floor containing ~1500 sqm residential + garden layouts in various styles Thank you for your continued support.Kind regards, IcesitruunaRead full article on Community Announcements (sitruunaice)Patch NotesOfficial
v0.041 Update Patch
Removed DLSS 4.5 support. We found that this feature conflicts with some parts of our rendering system—once DLSS is enabled, those features won’t work properly. After investigation, supporting DLSS 4.5 would require rewriting a large amount of code, which is too difficult at the moment. We’re very sorry, but we have to temporarily drop DLSS support.Healing skills can now be used outside of combat. Open the main menu and select the healing skill in the Skills menu.Fixed an issue where the map color didn’t change after collecting all items in an area. If you already saved after collecting the items, this issue cannot be resolved unless you start a new save.Fixed an issue where damage numbers were not shown when attacking outside the range frame. For ranged weapons, attacks outside the range frame will deal a fixed 1 damage, or be evaded by enemies.kind, IcesitruunaRead full article on Community Announcements (sitruunaice)Patch NotesOfficial
Steam Next Fest (Feb 24) Update v0.040 - Overview
This build will be updated when Steam Next Fest begins. Also, we have updated a pinned FAQ in the Steam Community discussion board to address some of the questions everyone cares about—please go take a look. For this update, we collected suggestions and feedback from Discord, the Steam reviews section, the Steam Community, Twitter, QQ groups, and other channels. After careful analysis, we adopted quite a few valuable changes. We hope you’ll leave feedback in the Steam reviews section or give us some encouragement—we’ll be very happy either way. In short, we’ll keep working hard to make the game better.1. Appearance unlockAfter clearing the demo once, the Appearance feature will be unlocked (one clear takes about 40 minutes; players who cleared the old version still need to clear it again). After you enter the game again, you will find an “Appearance” option on the Equipment page, where you can swap outfits and hairstyles and change hair color. Of course, the demo will have only a small selection of swappable content. In the full version, the Appearance feature is actually unlocked after Chapter 1 ends and after a story segment in Chapter 2. Because of workload, in the end-of-Chapter-1 cutscene you may see the outfit forcibly revert to the first set at the moment the cutscene triggers. There isn’t much we can do about this—it’s a small side effect of enabling the Appearance feature in the demo. Thanks for your understanding!2. DLSS 4.5 implementedYou can enable this in the graphics options. Only Nvidia GPUs will see this option. From my own testing, the difference compared to FSR 3.1 is almost only noticeable by overlaying screenshots in Photoshop—it seems to make the toon-render outlines slightly more pronounced. On RTX 40-series GPUs, the FPS gain also seems smaller than with FSR 3.1.We don’t have any RTX 50-series cards in the studio, so we haven’t tested those.3. In combat, using items now consumes only 1 ATC segment.4. Added a starting skill, which also consumes onl...Read full article on Community Announcements (sitruunaice)Community & EventsOfficial
Next: February Steam Next Fest — full release sprint.
We’ll be participating in the Steam Next Fest taking place in late February. The DEMO will be updated shortly before the festival begins. The main story content remains unchanged, but we’ve adjusted some systems based on player feedback, for example: After clearing the DEMO, you’ll unlock the character appearance customization system, but it’s true that we haven’t implemented many outfits and hairstyles yet. You can change equipment during combat. Using items only consumes 1 ATC slot, while skills can consume either 1 slot or 2 slots. Reloading logic has been updated: after combat, reloading will be completed automatically. You can also reload or unload with a single button directly in the menu. Some balance adjustments and bug fixes. After Steam Next Fest, we won’t update the DEMO anymore and will focus fully on the full release. In fact, we’ve already been doing this for the past month—lots of art assets, level setup, and story content are progressing steadily. We hope to fully complete the full version by mid-2026, and then meet everyone. Kind regards, taki(Icesitruuna)Read full article on Community Announcements (sitruunaice)Patch NotesOfficial
