Adventure, Indie · More free games
Embark on a mysterious journey through Von Schlonger's isolated mansion, where each door conceals new clues in this indie adventure game.
About this game
A well known Detective received an invitation by the wealthy Viktor Von Schlonger to take part to his infamous dinner party, where only the richest, dodgiest and overall peculiar people in the world are welcomed, and only once a year.
In Crooked Knobs, you are said Detective. All fine, all simple. Just enjoy the vacation, relax your brain, and don't think much of the mötley crüe of criminals and felons that will accompany you for the entire duration. Surely, none of them might have a reason to...
ATTEMPTED murder why thank you, but still... heinous all the same. Viktor Von Schlonger is attacked and almost killed throughout the night, and the one who did it is certainly within reach.
Will you be able to solve the mystery, find the murderer, and motives behind their actions in this point-and-click murder mystery? Perhaps. But be wary, there's more than meets the eye around...

A huge, isolated Villa on top of a cliff of a remote Lewdropean peninsula, Von Schlonger's Mansion ain't nothing to mess with. Over the years, the eccentric raccoon molded it into somewhat of a madhouse, chock full of fascinating vistas, childish arcade rooms, gold furniture... and terrible secrets.
A similar place surely makes it easier to come up with a murder plan, with many hiding spots, escape routes, and improvised weapons. Crooked Knobs is all about being observant... and being observant is key, because if anyone knows this mansion inside and out, it is certainly...
Devious, friendly, ruthless, cold-hearted, loving, we have 'em all. None of the 12 guests roaming around the mansion can be completely trusted, but all of them can be helpful... with a little "push". Yes, you can "push" them all. High morals are flexible anyway.
Careful though... one (or more) of them is the murderer. And they'll make sure their "help" might throw you in the wrong direction to complicate the case further. Use all the instruments at your disposal and choose wisely, you only have 6 hours to spare before letting them all go.
Fortunately, you're not exactly... alone on your quest. But I can't spoil everything now can I.
Only one way to find out all there is to know. I hope you'll enjoy Crooked Knobs. In more than one way, goes without saying!

Unravel the mystery behind Viktor Von Schlonger's attempted murder and his eccentric mansion in Five distinct murder cases.
Meet 12 different guests, and press them to tell you the truth. Where you press them and how deeply you'll do it, is up to you.
Discover an interconnected story full of twists and turns.
Use your observation skills to find evidence and put 6 and 9 together! Nothing during a case is signposted or covered in yellow paint, look around carefully, and don't leave any stone unturned!
Study your opponents through your Detective tools: have a chat, gather them all for a mass interrogation, spy on them when they disappear, or challenge them to a Tongue Wrestling Match.
You're not alone in this quest, your "Partner" will give you a hand~ with some of the most valuable tools in your arsenal.
See and unlock many, many, MANY spicy scenes.
ABOUT THESE "AI CONTENT DISCLOSURE" THAT ARE ALL THE RAGE NOWADAYS....
None of that here. Absolutely NO ASSET in this game is, or will EVER be created, through the use of generative AI. That's why I ask you guys to be patient and bear with me, it is going to take a minute to get this done.
In the meantime though, I've prepared a demo prologue to hold you over (releasing December 15, 2025), containing all original content not present in the main game. Please enjoy!

Crooked Knobs Zero (Demo Prologue) - The actual FINAL Update!
Yeah I told you guys I would've made a hotfix eventually because I messed something up, fortunately a lot less than I thought:Fixed many many many many MANY typos and errors.Fixed an unintended glitch that made the single loop unlockable from the get go by simply resetting Jacky's confrontation after losing the final duel. This will be, this time FOR CERTAIN, the final final update. Mostly out of spite, I have a few days of vacation after a full year of crunch for free, and I'm spending it in fixing this demo, again, because I like you A LOT but goddamn I need some shut eye. It's time to actually move on and never look back, this prologue demo is done. It was more polished than at least 70% of the Steam library even from its 1.0 anyway~Yours lovingly,~ Arty the tired crunching frogRead full article on Community Announcements (Arty The Frog)Patch NotesOfficial
Crooked Knobs Zero (Demo Prologue) - Final Update!
Hello there! Arty here, with some news!I know I've said that I wouldn't implement some of the feedback stuff, leaving it for the main game instead. But you see, I lied. Ok I didn't lie but I kinda added some stuff to the demo anyway disregarding what I've said before. Because I like yall a lot. So feast your eyes on:The marvelous skip function! It's STILL kind of unchecked and wildly unpredictable, might break music and sounds sometimes, please rely on it freely but know it MIGHT break some stuff! For the most part from a quick test, it works fine, because I spent the better part of the last 4 days working on it nonstop, merry Christmas to me. Access it by holding CTRL on the keyboard, or on a controller, by holding Y/TRIANGLE. It becomes available from the second loop onwards, and for those who already completed it, it's available from the get go!A quit button! Watch in awe as you press the button to quit to the menu and it quits to the menu, and from the menu it quits to nothingness, too. Access it from the settings screen!A controls screen! An additional controls screen in the options menu to check what buttons do what. Nobody requested it but I thought it was odd to not have it.Optional naughty scenes! No more being dragged into them terrible shenanigans sans consent. If they say something inappropriate, say no to that!Various little adjustments and fixes that don't really matter. This will be, almost certainly, the final final update. Even if it's not perfect, it's time to move on from Crooked Knobs Zero, to actual Crooked Knobs. Doing this has been an absolute blast and the feedback has been astonishingly positive thank you very much! But the price of doing a completely separate demo, kinda like a free DLC in advance, is that if I don't move on, I'll keep polishing a complete but small product that overall I think it's enjoyable as is despite its shortcomings.I have no idea how long Crooked Knobs will take, but you bet I'll do all I can to make CK0 look exactly...Read full article on Community Announcements (Arty The Frog)AnnouncementsOfficial
Crooked Knobs Zero, the demo/prologue of Crooked Knobs, is OUT NOW!
The year isn't over, until it's over.Discover the start of the strange happenings that will eventually lead into the main game! This demo isn't anything new conceptually, but I truly missed the concept of a demo being a separate entity from the main game that can stand on its own, albeit in an abridged, shrinked form. So I gave myself a year, game jam style, to start from scratch and use the framework of the WIP Crooked Knobs to come up with something completely separate. The result is Crooked Knobs Zero, a prequel story taking place on New Year's Eve 2014, that stands on its own as a full, small thing, leading into the main story taking place in the far future. And with a different lead too, none other than Lance the rhinoceros, guest character from the game Oh So Hero! (developed by Full-Frontal Frog), and mentor of the actual real protagonist. It exists for two reasons: firstly because it's cool to have something extra that's not me chopping one game's leg to leave you hanging for a while. But also, secondly, because feedback is important and I want to get as much as I can to improve the main game! The framework you'll see here is basically the same with minor differences (because of the setting and context mostly, they had to work slightly differently), so collecting feedback is sure to help me out in the future!WIth that said... please enjoy this demo prologue! You'll find it available on the game's page as a big download button!Oh! And a huge thanks to all the guests that made it into this demo as a cameo! The main game for obvious reasons will have original characters instead but for a freebie it's ok to have something different instead~ You'll find plenty information about em (too many to list 'em all here), so go check em out and follow them on their X or Bluesky! Mostly Bluesky! Here's to hope this invitation doesn't age poorly in half a minute! Also ALSO! Here's two 1080p wallpapers of the Steam artworks for the demo, done in order by RedEmption (The artist b...Read full article on Community Announcements (Arty The Frog)
