About this game

Crimson Freedom is a gripping real-time strategy game focused on single player experience. Set on 22nd-century Mars, the game follows the epic struggle of ideologies battling for supremacy over the red planet and the future of humanity. With base building, army management, resource systems, compelling campaigns, and strong, distinctive factions, our game delivers the pure RTS experience, enhanced with modern looks and thoughtful innovations. No gimmicks, just the timeless strategy you expect, done right.

The core experience centers around an extensive single-player narrative. Each campaign offers a unique perspective on the struggle for humanity’s future. You’re not just building bases and armies, you’re exploring the moral grey area of the red planet, and the choices and failures of humanity.

Set in a richly detailed sci-fi world, you’ll explore the future of humanity from three unique perspectives, gradually uncovering the full truth as you progress at your own pace. Crimson Freedom is designed as a love letter to the genre’s foundational mechanics. It features strong, asymmetrical factions - Red Rebellion, Orbis Concordia and the Ascentx - each with unique units, tech, and tactical strengths that fundamentally alter how you approach every engagement.

Experience the thrill of strategic warfare at a more relaxed pace. Focus on commanding epic battles and crushing your opponents without the stress of resource micromanagement or high APM demands, allowing for a laid-back and enjoyable gaming experience.

DEMO UPDATE - Pathfinding, movement, QOL, VFX
A few weeks into our demo build we’re coming back with A LOT of improvements in our first update! Very happy to report that we’ve managed to snipe most of the feedback from your reviews and suggestions from Discord in the past four weeks. Stuff like pathfinding, movement feeling more snappy, units crowding, control grouping buildings, idle builders buttons, QOL features - you name it, it’s here!Speed, pathfinding, movement:General speed of the game - we’ve identified this is largely tied to our turn rate (how fast units turn directions) and acceleration/deceleration. Now it’s WAY faster, so the game should feel much more responsive subjectively - keep in mind no unit speed stats have been changed at this point.Pathfinding, movement, crowding - we’ve been working on this system non-stop, and we feel we’re on a very good path right now. We’ve heard your feedback so we’ve reworked almost all of the subsystems. Units should now crowd more naturally in a fight (so no more units stuck in the back row unable to fire due to range), they should be better suited to move through or around crowds, microing individual units should now be easier as a result of these reworks.Stances, threat detection - this has also been fine tuned to better reflect player expectations, units should respond to threats more proactively now, but they’ll keep their stances in mind (aggressive, defensive, hold ground).QOL (control groups, remove buildings etc.)You can now control group production buildings and queue units in multiple facilities for a more streamlined unit production - keep in mind that it’s limited to building types, can’t mix and match infantry and vehicles.Tied into the previous QOL fix - setting rally points for multiple production buildings has been added as well.Added idle builder button - if you ever lose your RIG, it’s just a single button away.Removing units from control groups has been fixed. Just select your control group, and SHIFT + Click (or shift+drag) those pesky units ...Read full article on Community Announcements (AleksandarYboga)AnnouncementsOfficial

Crimson Freedom Demo - Feb 16th!
Greetings, rebels! We're thrilled to announce that the free DEMO of Crimson Freedom will be available starting February 16th!In this version of the demo you'll get to play the first two missions of the Red Rebellion campaign. Once you load the first mission you'll be greeted by Valeria, one of the main characters and also the first playable hero in the campaign. The pressure is on as soon as you load up the game, so build fast, set up defenses and good luck in your first counter-attack!The story:In the near future, Earth is ruled by Orbis Concordia, a flawless global order where efficiency has erased crime, chaos and freedom. Those who still dared to think freely fled to Mars, seeking autonomy beyond Earth’s perfect tyranny. While Orbis still claims dominion over Mars, its grip there is weaker. The planet has also become home to AscentX, a powerful mega-corporation led by a visionary billionaire Ellis, whose ambition reaches beyond politics toward the fusion of human consciousness and machine intelligence. After years of fragile peace, Orbis launches a devastating assault on its Martian colony, igniting a planet-wide conflict and sparking the creation of Red Rebellion, a faction of freedom fighters. Players experience the war through three distinct campaigns: rebels fighting for freedom, enforcers struggling with loyalty and order, and visionaries willing to reshape humanity itself. As alliances fracture and hidden agendas surface, the line between salvation and annihilation begins to blur.P.S. don't forget to use your Bandits for scouting, they got a cool radar! Check out the demo on Steam!Read full article on Community Announcements (AleksandarYboga)AnnouncementsOfficial
CAMPAIGN PLAYTEST - Missions, updates and more!
First and foremost - a HUUUGE THANK YOU to everyone that participated in our first play-test, you guys are legends! Our first play-test was nothing short of extraordinary if you ask us, and the amount of feedback we got will keep us busy during the holidays, that’s for sure! While we’re hard at work on balancing everything, fixing bugs and adding your suggestions, we’re also working on our campaign experience which will serve as the main course. You’ll have a chance to try out the first two missions starting from Friday, December 19th. We’ll open the gates around 9pm CET (make sure to join our Discord so you're aware of any delays and stuff) and we’ll keep them open until Monday at least, maybe even longer. It really depends on if we feel the need to pull the plug on the play-test or if we feel we can update it regularly and keep it going for a few more days and weeks. The missions you'll get to play around in are the beginning of our Red Rebellion campaign. You'll get to meet a few very important characters and experience the pacing of the campaign itself, which is unique in its own way when compared to our Skirmish play, as you're jumping straight into action. And those waves of Orbis enforcers that are attacking you ain't no child's play either. To follow in our effort to be transparent with you guys, we’ll use this 2nd play-test to shape our free Demo version that we’re looking to drop well before the Steam Next Fest.P.S. We’re also working through our first set of feedback as we speak, but keep in mind that we won’t be able to implement everything in time, it’ll take us a few weeks at least. We’ll make sure to include a patch-notes type of an update via our Steam page and Discord, so you guys can stay on top of all the changes.Read full article on Community Announcements (AleksandarYboga)AnnouncementsOfficial

And please be aware that things will break, most definitely. And if you’d love to help shape the game’s future or simply vent and yell at us because your units started misbehaving mid-game, feel free to use the feedback form and our Discord server!Good luck Rebels, see you on the frontlines!Read full article on Community Announcements (AleksandarYboga)
