Explore The Mirk, an unforgiving swamp where every step matters. As you navigate dungeons and avoid dangers, your decisions shape your survival in this Early Access RPG from Edym Pixels.
About this game
..:: A Turn-Based Survival RPG ::..
Each turn, you must make choices - Spend your Actions Points well.
The swamp might overwhelm you, or harden your survival instincts.
While nature itself will be a challenge, the foes you encounter will be just as formidable.
The combat will be unique and puzzle-like. Weapons will have different attack patterns and effects.
Nights are cold and dangerous. A well-planned camp and enough firewood will increase your chances of survival.
The Mirk is a living place. You will create paths, set up camps, discover ancient ruins and mysteries, all while meeting unique characters and beings.
This game features:
Survival mechanics: Hunger, Focus/Tiredness, Energy and Warmth.
Classic RPG mechanics with skills, abilities, and a wide variety of items, armor and gear. The survival mechanics will play a large part here as well: Your steel chestplate will be great for combat, but not for climbing or keeping warm. Skills will allow for a variety of playstyles: from foraging the land, brewing and selling potions, hunting, exploring and looting, to trading, etc.
Randomly generated terrain, creating unique playthroughs while still integrating handcrafted location, characters and events.
A unique world with interesting lore, enemies, discoveries, and an eerie atmosphere.
Freedom of choice: An optional main story with a decent amount of challenges and quests.
Lastly: This game is under development - details, screenshots and videos will added and/or changed.
Please note: This game is meant to be challenging. You are expected to lose many times, and it will take time to learn how to survive. Dungeons will not be amusement rides designed for the player, but dangerous trials that demand careful preparation. To sum it up: Warding off the darkness with your last dying torch won't be easy — but it should be memorable.

Rough Roadmap + Planned Price Increase
Greetings everyone! We start with the price increase:On this Friday I will increase the game price from 10 to 11.99 USD. I always use Steams regional pricing, so it will vary depending on your region.I did a poll on my Discord and the vast majority was supportive of this increase, so I hope you are as well! Please let me know how you feel:Would you have bought the game for roughly 12 bucks?Do you think it's worth that much at its current state? When the game leaves (or is close to leaving) Early Access, I plan to raise the price to 15 USD, which most likely will be the final increase. If I get enough pushback I won't increase the price. (Please don't take this opportunity to exploit me for actually listening to my customers/fans/fellow-swamp-lovers! ;D)Now the rough roadmap:Patch 0.8.0.0: This patch is roughly one month away. It will focus on foraging, planting/harvesting and camp/base building. There will be new skills related to this. I plan to add something like buildable huts which will be a new interior, similar to Bhatos hut, canvas/tents which will act as roof outdoors, just to mention a few things. It will also add new unique locations, new npcs, enemies, items, plants/trees, etc.Patch 0.9.0.0: This will add more stuff to the mainquest and probably a few sidequests/activities. I like the mainquest as it is, but it needs some wrapping up, maybe one character you want to meet again hint-hint, and a little more closure. It will also add more content in general. This will probably be released late September/early October. (I will also get some translations done around here)Patch 1.0.0.0: This will mainly be polish/balance and listenting to what the players want/need at this stage. Either right before this patch, or a little after, the price will increase to 15 USD, and the game will leave EA. Now we are most likely in October. Patch > 1.0? This remains to be seen! Is the game a hit at this point? Has it been completely forgotten and doesn't sell at all? Are you g...Read full article on Community Announcements (edym)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 0.7.5.2 - Dead Zone (Demo updated also)
This patch added a Dead Zone option for controllers. That's it! Thanks for the feedback everyone!Best wishes and lots of love!Read full article on Community Announcements (edym)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 0.7.5.0 - Controller Support + fixes!
The main thing this patch does is adding controller support. It is very customizable, the tooltips have been updated, so has the UI, etc. I am not a controll player myself, so apologies if the default settings are clunky - but please give me feedback and I am sure we can work something out! ;DThis patch also does the following:You can now change Left/Right click input, so you can play any bizarre/illegal way you choose.Fixes a pathfinding issue, in which the optimal path up and down slopes was clearly off. While resting, status effects will update properly, so exhaustion symbol will perish, etc. When moving east or west into new areas, the players y position would move one tile down, which could cause stuckness. My bad!Zooming is smoother and always focused on the player.A certain end game item is lost once used, since it has no further use.Added a new song, a positive one, which has a small change of playing if things are actually going your way and you've survived for awhile.Making sure the raft is centered under the play if you are struck or enter combat, etc. It should always remain clickable without the need to jump overboard. That is it for now! I hope this works as intended!Asking for a small favor: Sales have pretty much stagnated, so please remember to leave a review and/or recommend this game to a friend! It really helps! As always: Huge thanks for all the support, feedback and bug-reporting! The Mirk is miserable, but together we are making it just the right amount of miserable!Best wishes and lots of love!Read full article on Community Announcements (edym)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 0.7.3.5 - Fixes + a requested Item
This patch adds an improved torch, always craftable but it requires bark and other items which are harder to come by. It lasts 24 turns compared to 15.Also, the chosen skin color was not saved properly! Apologies for this! When you load a character and the skin color can't be found, you will be able to reselect. This patch fixes the following:Shift-clicking to move stackable items into containers didn't always remove the full weight, which lead to player "carrying" more than they should have, my bad! (The carry weight is always re-calculated when you load a game, so your saves are fine! =) )Consuming the last item from a temporary loot-bag will destroy the bag, since it's not empty.I also added a tool tip on how to abort resting/sleeping, so the player knows they don't have to just sit there and wait. ;D That is it for now! A big thanks for all the feedback and support! A special thanks to TiruinRead full article on Community Announcements (edym)
