Triple Swap Tower - THE GRAND KING'S VALIANT CHALLENGES
Version 4 - THE GRAND KING'S VALIANT CHALLENGES - Patch notesTriple Swap Tower's third major update is here, adding new heroes and a Challenge Mode for the TST veterans looking for new ways to play the game.NEW HEROESHoplite A warrior trained with spears. His attack takes a bit of getting used to, but is quite powerful if you can master it! They can hit a single enemy multiple times with good positioning. Once during the initial wind up, and a second time when the spear is thrown. A very high risk, high reward hero, with his base ability rewarding you for being near enemies and enemy projectiles.AlchemistShe uses alchemy and throws bottles full of powerful arcane acid. Her attacks are split between a Blunt type bottle and a Magic type pool. The pool attack has two timed damage instances, meaning you can hit an enemy three separate times with a single attack! Both attack parts count as "primary attacks" so something like the golden ring item will power up all three hit instances.LasermageA character that has no special attack type, but instead attacks in "pure" type lasers, always hitting for normal damage regardless of the target's weakness, resistance, or immunity. Their attacks are a near-instant laser that can dispatch enemies quickly with a few well aimed bursts.THE GRAND KING'S VALIANT CHALLENGESThe Grand King has called upon the brave heroes of the City to complete challenges for him to prove their worth-- and in return, he'll grant them Valiance. This update brings in a challenge mode where you can do special runs that increase the difficulty and/or modify the game rules. If you've beaten the game at least once, you'll have the challenge screen unlocked. Initially, I designed challenges to be similar to a heat rating in something like Hades, but landed on more of a "challenge run" style, where each run is specifically designed to give you new ways to play the game and build new team. The challenges reward your creativity on team building and exploiting the modi...Read full article on Community Announcements (ayycat)Patch NotesOfficial
Triple Swap Tower's upcoming update
Last time I teased upcoming content for the game, I detailed Version 2's new heroes, and said that there will be one more update after that. I am returning today to say that I have at least one more update planned, with high hopes of a fourth (v5) update late this year-- but no promises! So far, I've settled into a pattern of each major update containing three new heroes and some sort of other addition to the game. This next update will follow that same pattern. Here is a sneak peek of the next three heroes I am working on:As I've worked on this game, I've had ideas for new characters and have also gotten suggestions from players and friends. I've got an ever-growing pile of hero designs to pull from when working on a new update. I like that the size of the roster has been getting ever more diverse with the addition of new heroes, and enables players to try new combinations that can change up how you play the game. When adding new heroes, I try to make sure that they aren't just slightly different versions of an existing hero, but instead offer a new playstyle or gimmick that isn't present yet. This has been getting more challenging, but also more satisfying as I design and prototype new ones. I have also been trying to make sure that the game does not overload new players with tons of new characters out of the gate. I would like them to be relatively easy to unlock, but not unlocked all at once. A good player should be able to unlock most of the roster in one run, while a new player will get one or two new heroes when they get a little bit farther than they did before. In Version 4, you can expect to see these three new heroes that offer some interesting build-paths and strategies. For players who have beat the game, I'm adding a new mode to turn the difficulty and chaos even higher. With a new challenging mode added, each character will be getting a new earnable trophy related to that mode. I am very happy with where the game is at in Version 4, and I think we've com...Read full article on Community Announcements (ayycat)AnnouncementsOfficial
Triple Swap Tower - MYSTIC FORCES
v3 "MYSTIC FORCES" Change-logVersion 3, dubbed MYSTIC FORCES, brings three new heroes to the roster, a bunch of new items, and a filled out vault screen. Read onward for more details:New HeroesBoomerangerA knight who throws out boomerangs that can hit enemies on the way out, and on the way back! The Boomeranger rewards good aim, and has a minigame of setting up hits on the attack's return by dashing right after you attack. Your boomerangs slightly seek you out on the return arc, even if you swap from the Boomeranger to someone else.AssassinA holy assassin who fires out daggers in all directions when attacking. Bringing another "wave-clear" style hero to the roster, similar to the Wizard. Not quite as good in that regard, but she has her own unique strengths and build paths that shine through.SummonerThey summon beasties to take down enemies while you focus on avoiding the threats. The Summoner is the first hero in the "mage" column that has a non Magic or Holy damage typing, instead using Sharp type attacks that zip around and seek out enemies. They start off on the weaker side, but can become a true powerhouse when they level up!New ItemsThe shop in town has gotten some new stock in! The 3 options of items stays unchanged, but there is now a 4th option that pulls from the 9 new items added in this update. These items are only accessible through this new slot. They mostly focus on more utility type uses, and a handful of them are consumable, in the sense that once they're triggered and used, they're gone.Three additional new items have been added to the game's final areas. I made the cheese wheel spawn in the special item chest on the 4th floor of every final area as a placeholder. Each final area now drops its own special item that can give you an advantage in the final battle.Vault ScreenIn this update I finished out the Vault screen, adding a page for your heroes and their stats, as well as a page for the items you can find and use. It's been fun checking in on t...Read full article on Community Announcements (ayycat)Patch NotesOfficial
v2.1 Changelog
v2.1 Update Changelog,Mystic boots now have their active SP regeneration rate at 75%, up from 50%Adjusted the numbers on the Knight's abilities. Anything that made the primary attack last longer now increases that time a bit more. The Knight's abilities didn't lead to more than one good build path, so this should let you have a bit more choice when choosing skills.Fixed chests spawning on top of the exit stairs.Hitbox OverhaulI adjusted various hero attack hitboxes and enemy hitboxes to make the game feel more consistent. Player attack hitboxes have been increased in size slightly to feel more consistent across all characters. Enemy hitboxes have been largely adjusted to better match the shape of the enemy. For the most part, humanoid enemies stayed the same, with their hitboxes being confined to their legs, torso, and head, and not their arms/weapons. Enemies that move fast and have erratic movements were changed to better match their appearance, such as the ghost and flame skull. A few hitboxes were inconsistent between the levels of the enemy, sometimes getting smaller as they leveled up. (What was I thinking?)Notable hitbox changes include:Spider hitbox is much better in line along all levels. Its center body is the only thing hittable now. It had an inconsistent hitbox where at certain levels it was easier/harder to hit.Adjusted the Flame Skull hitboxes to better match the shape of the enemy. They should feel a little more fair to dodge and fight against now.The Paladin's hammer attack hitboxes have been increased in size to better match the shape of the attack. The Beserker's upgraded large attack hitbox has been increased in size. (From a ~20% overall increase in upgrade to now ~40%)The Knight's upgraded large attack hitbox has been increased in size slightly.I did not change the Rogue's minuscule knife hitbox. It is perfect the way it is.Please reach out if you have any feedback or thoughts on the game. Thank you for playing Triple Swap Tower!Read full article on Community Announcements (ayycat)AnnouncementsOfficial
Triple Swap Tower - FRONTIER HEROES
v2 "FRONTIER HEROES" Change-logNew HeroesSamurai - Uses their katana to instantly slice the first enemy in their path. The Samurai was designed to be a hero that can be pretty good at fighting on their own, but also provide a good amount of support skills that can help bolster the rest of the party.Gunslinger - Fires super high speed shots at the furthest away enemy. The Gunslinger's stamina is always 6, and any extra stamina is instead converted to damage. He has lots of dodging and combo skills to create a really fun and mechanical hero.Runemage - Places runes on the ground that detonate after a three second delay. The Runemage's detriment-- that their attack doesn't do anything immediately-- is also a strength. Her runes provide a stamina regeneration effect, meaning you'll be laying runes down and pulling in value for the whole party! The three heroes added in this update have unlock requirements that are also achievements, so if you have earned those achievements already, the heroes will automatically be unlocked when you start the game for the first time on the new update.Vault ScreenThe 'Coming Soon...' option on the main menu has been opened. It is the Vault, where you can see information on the enemies and bosses you've defeated during play. The stats have been tracked in your save file since v1, but there was no way to view them, so most (if not everything) that you've already done should be reflected in the new Vault screen.Right now, there are enemy stats and boss stats. You can also view their HP values and weaknesses/resistances. In the future, I plan to fill out this section with more information as time goes on.Victory TrophiesVictory Trophies are new and now visible on the party select screen. They appear under the name of the selected hero and are earned when you defeat the final bosses present in the game. They should have been tracked in your save file prior to this update, so if you've beaten the game with a given hero, it should show up already!...Read full article on Community Announcements (ayycat)
