Explore the clash of historical legends in Anachron, where you build decks for iconic heroes like Joan of Arc and Blackbeard. Strategize your moves in this unique tactical arena game from 2027.
About this game

In the eternal city of Aevum, time doesn’t flow. Instead, it folds. The laws of reality unravel in a coliseum where champions of every era collide in epic combat. You are a Weaver, a master summoner with the power to bend history to your will. Your task? To assemble a squad of legendary figures from across time and space, and battle rival Weavers for glory, survival, and control.
Anachron is a multiplayer card game set in a fantasy, time-bending universe.
Players form powerful teams by summoning historical and mythical champions, each with distinct roles and unique abilities. Gameplay is strategic, cerebral, and deeply customizable, where no two decks are the same, even with identical champions.
Build your ultimate squad and craft your strategy in an epic champion-based card game.
You will assemble a team of four Champions, mixing and matching from a roster of legendary heroes to find the perfect synergy. Every battle is a test of wits, and your path to victory starts with how you build your team. Choose your champions from four distinct roles, each bringing a unique strategic approach to the fight:
Attackers: The DPS of your team, focused on dealing devastating damage and finishing off your foes.
Defenders: The unbreakable wall, designed to protect your team, absorb damage, and control the tempo of the match.
Strategists: The masterminds who disrupt your opponent's plans, manipulate the battlefield, and twist the tide of battle in your favor.
Supports: The backbone of your squad, specializing in healing allies, applying powerful buffs, and enabling explosive, game-changing combos.
With your team of four selected, you will build a minimum 60 card deck. Each of your chosen champions comes with 12 unique Action Cards (with four copies of each) that form the core of your deck. How you combine these cards, which champions you pair, and what combos you discover will define your playstyle. This deep level of customization ensures that even when two players choose the identical set of champions, they will face off with completely different tactics and strategies.
Your objective is clear, but your path to victory is your choice. There are two distinct ways to claim a win:
Gain a 2-Champion advantage on the battlefield.
Successfully eliminate 3 of your opponent's Champions.
It's a constant test of managing your deck like a battlefield, anticipating your enemy's moves, and knowing exactly when to strike and when to hold back.
A Game That Rewards Skill, Not Spending
Anachron is free-to-play, and it always will be. All future champions and game modes will also be free.
The game is monetized through optional cosmetic items only, such as:
* Card borders
* Player icons
* Alternative card art (no gameplay impact)
Everything else, from deck building to battles, is skill-based and accessible to everyone.

Each champion and card in Anachron features original artwork, designed by carefully selected artists from around the world
No two decks will feel visually alike. Expect:
* Bold, distinctive champion portraits
* Beautifully illustrated action cards
* A rich visual universe that feels both ancient and futuristic

Experience the new Anachron Coliseum
Build 0.2.0-test.2 · Steam Playtest Anachron has been rebuilt from scratch. Same champions, same cards, same rules you remember, but the game around them is new: there is finally a tutorial, you can play offline against a bot, a dropped connection no longer costs you the match, and the whole thing speaks four languages. Here is what is in your hands. The whole card game is here 5 champions and 60 action cards, with every ability working the way it was meant to. 49 status effects, including a lot of the ones the old version never really told you about. Card text explains itself. Hover any keyword and it tells you what it does, right there on the card, in the mulligan, in the discard pile, anywhere it shows up. Mulligan, Struggle, Extra Action, hand limit, overtime. The full ruleset, not a trimmed version of it. Two modes the game never had before The original dropped you straight into a match against a stranger and wished you luck. Both of these are new. A tutorial. A guided match that teaches you the board one move at a time, then a walkthrough that builds your first deck with you. It runs the first time you launch and you can replay it from the menu any time after that. Practice against the bot. A full match against an AI opponent, offline. No queue, no waiting for somebody to be online, no server at all. Learn a champion, test a deck you just built, or play at three in the morning when nobody else is around. Practice wins even count toward the reward ladder, at a slower rate. Two starter decks come already built, so you can learn the cards by playing them instead of reading them. Matches that actually finish The clock rewards playing. 60 seconds a turn, plus 5 more every time you play a card and 10 every time you draw one. Sit and think and it costs you. Act and you buy the time back. Overtime. When both decks run dry, fatigue starts taking champions until somebody falls. No more games that go nowhere. Nobody can stall you out. Every prompt has its own timer, so a...Read full article on Community Announcements (Captain Pliskin)AnnouncementsOfficial

It's time. The Anachron Playtest registration is officially live on Steam!If you’re excited to finally be able to try the game just as much as I've been dying to be able to show our work to you, test out the arena combat mechanics for yourself, and help us break (and improve) the game, now is your chance.All you have to do is head over to our Steam page and click the "Request Access" button. We are a small team, and your feedback at this stage means everything to us. Can't wait to hear what you think!I'm also working on a short introductory video to the game which can help explain the basic mechanics of the game. Since we're still developing an in-game tutorial, I'll try to keep it clear and concise so that it can be viewed and understood easily.Thank you all for your participation and please do let me know here on Discord if you plan on testing the game out, so we may organize some times to find a fair number of players online together Please do keep in mind that this first Playtest is aimed mainly at testing out cards and mechanics! We're still hard at work to get a decent UI and similar elements up to speed, so please be patient with our work ❤️Read full article on Community Announcements (Captain Pliskin)
