About this game

May 1978. After a long drive through the night, you arrive at a lonely hotel. The lobby is empty, but someone has left a tape recorder on the reception counter. A single message plays:
“Your room is 713.”
Anomalies with a tint of True Crime. Room 713 blends classic anomaly-spotting Exit 8-style gameplay with a murder mystery narrative. Pay close attention to your surroundings. Notice something wrong? Head left. Everything in order? Go right. With every correct choice, you climb a floor. Every mistake sends you back to the start.
The game features over 40 anomalies. Can you spot them all?

Who are you? Why are you here? What is this place? Room 713 elevates the anomaly-spotting formula by adding a murder mystery plot for the player to unravel. Interact with the environment, collect items, and solve ARG-style puzzles to uncover the tragedy that took place.
Only by discovering the truth will you be able to break the loop.

15–90 minute experience
40+ anomalies
Multiple endings
Speedrun mode and online leaderboard
Cryptic puzzles using Morse code, ciphers, and clues hidden in the environment

[PATCH 02.06.2026] QoL, UX and one extra anomaly.
Hi! GoragarX here. As I said in the previous Dev Update, I had an update ready to publish that focused on adding requested features from some players.New Features\ Cloud Saving: The game now supports cloud saving. If you change devices (for example, from desktop to Steam Deck), you'll keep all anomalies, items obtained, etc.\ Anomaly Compendium is now accessible during gameplay: If you pause the game mid-run, you can access all the anomalies. It dynamically updates as you play, and you're notified when a new anomaly is registered.\ Speedrun Fast-Restart: Some of my fastest anomaly hunters said that having to go back to the menu if you messed up your speedrun was an annoyance. While playing Speedrun mode, a new button to restart the run appears in the pause menu.\ UX/UI Improvements: There have been several UI Changes aimed at Steam Deck compatibility (slightly larger font sizes in some text, some layouts changed to better fit the 16:10 aspect ratio). Additionally, some keyboard shortcuts have been added (e.g., pressing ESC on the options panel of the main menu closes it, and pressing ESC on the main menu triggers the "Quit" modal window).\ New Anomaly: I see you...Bug FixesAudio Tapes are no longer "consumed" when swapping tapes on the lobby recorder. You can no longer walk while doing static inspections. You can no longer get stuck in front of the sofas in the right side of the corridor.Fixed a carpet texture bug in the right side of the corridorRoom 12 is no longer visible from room 1 when that anomaly is active.Fixed an issue with the collider of the furniture piece in the middle of the corridor that made grabbing the hidden pink box unintentionally difficult. The staff room wall safe item is correctly displayed when inspected in inventory. (No one noticed this, because no one has figured out the code yet… hahaha)OtherOptimizationsImprovements to Russian translation (thanks to Rina Malmstin)Improvements to some hintsRead full article on Community Announcements (goragarxgamedev)Patch NotesOfficial
[DEV UPDATE] Room 713: A month after release.
Hi! GoragarX here. It's been a month since Room 713 was released, and I wanted to talk about how everything went and my future plans regarding this game. But first, I want to sincerely thank everyone who bought and played Room 713 for supporting my work; it means the world to me.It's been... rough. To put it plainly, it's been rough. I spent roughly 7+ months of dev time putting my heart and soul into this project, but despite my efforts, I didn't make it.My goal was to sell 1000 copies, and I'm currently sitting at almost 400. This isn't the right place to discuss earnings, but I'm afraid we'll need to postpone the yacht party :(What went wrong? If I'm being honest, I don't fully understand it. Maybe it's just anomaly genre fatigue. Maybe the premise/hook wasn't strong enough. Or maybe I leaned too much into psychological horror and the narrative, which isn't what the audience for these types of games is looking for.I wish I had more actionable feedback to improve the game, but those who enjoyed it really enjoyed it (thus the great reviews!), while those who didn't simply didn't care enough to share their thoughts. Maybe the word to describe Room 713 is just 'niche'.If you have any suggestions, I'm listening. All the new features of the upcoming update are things players requested via email and Discord (join my Discord! https://discord.gg/rvBNRCjBm7)So, what's next?In the meantime, I have an update ready that primarily focuses on UX and QoL features. I will update the game in the following days.I genuinely want to expand and keep working on this game. I feel there is still room (pun intended) for more anomalies, more documents to read, more hidden tapes to find, more stories about the Grand Hotel to be told, and a deeper dive into the backstory of our tragic starring family... but I also feel it's time for me to wrap everything up and move on to other projects.I don't want to say definitively that there won't ever be any new content updates, but... This is it, for no...Read full article on Community Announcements (goragarxgamedev)AnnouncementsOfficial
[ANNOUNCEMENT] ROOM 713 RELEASING NOW!
Hello everyone! Not much to say here, just happy to announce that Room 713 is OUT! I also sneaked a couple extra anomalies ;) Launch DiscountDuring the first two weeks after launch, you can get Room 713 with a -10% discount. Cheaper than a kebab!BundlesRoom 713 will release with two bundles: Anomaly Tourism (Kyoto Anomaly x Room 713) and Anomaly Stories (Last Term x Room 713). You can combine Room's release discount with the bundle's discount to get two, or even three, anomaly games at a crazy-cheap price. I can assure you these two anomaly games are amazing, and so are the devs behind them. For those who played the demoI made sure demo and full game save files are compatible. Any anomaly spotted during the demo will be marked as spotted, and you'll keep every item you found in the demo.ReviewsI said it in the last post, but I wanted to emphasize how crucial reviews are for small indies like me. Every piece of feedback is welcome. Reviews and feedback not only help us become better developers but also heavily impact visibility. A game with lots of reviews will be pushed further by the Steam algorithm. The magic number is 10 reviews: once a game reaches that threshold, it gets an overall rating (Positive, Mixed, Negative, etc.) and starts to pop in users' Discovery Queue. If you can leave a review on Room 713, it would mean the world to me.MiscTo help build a strong community, I created a subreddit and a wiki for the game. Both are extremely bare bones right now, but I'll try to slowly complete them during the week. I want players to have as many resources as possible and provide a hub where you can help each other with the puzzle-solving in typical ARG fashion. https://room713.fandom.com/wiki/Room713_Wiki https://www.reddit.com/r/Room713/ Feel free to join my Discord server too! https://discord.gg/rvBNRCjBm7Read full article on Community Announcements (goragarxgamedev)AnnouncementsOfficial
[ANNOUNCEMENT] ROOM 713 Release April 30th, 18:00 GMT+2
Hi! GoragarX here. First of all, I wanted to celebrate surpassing the 1k wishlist mark! Hurray :) The following post is just a quick reminder for all my anomaly hunters.ROOM 713's full game will be released on April 30th at 18:00 GMT+2The game will be priced at $4.99 (localized pricing) with a 10% launch discount. I also partnered with other great anomaly game developers, and you'll be able to acquire Room 713 alongside Last Term and Kyoto Anomaly (also with a discount!).What can I expect from Room 713?The full game for Room 713 will include the following on release:A selection of 37 anomalies. The goal is still to have 40+ anomalies, but there are pesky bugs in some of them that I need to address first. I would rather release the game with a couple fewer anomalies and update it later than release the game with bugged or broken anomalies. 3 endings and a true Psychological Horror narrative. The game includes a standard Ending (A), a "Fetch Quest" ending (B), and an ARG-style puzzle ending (C).You'll need to solve complex ciphers and puzzles to discover the lore behind Room 713 and the tragedy that brought you here. The story is not for the faint-hearted. Be ready to deep dive into a true horror story ;)4 Game ModesRoom 713 will include four different game modes: standard, speedrun, extreme, and custom.Standard: Your basic main gameplay loop. Spot the anomalies and reach your room.Speedrun: Be the fastest guest of the hotel! In this gamemode, your goal is not only to spot the anomalies, but to reach your room as quickly as possible. The Speedrun Mode will include an online leaderboard, separated from the Demo version leaderboard. The top 5 fastest players will appear in the lobby.Extreme: The hotel management has reassigned you to their finest room: 2113. This means you'll need to climb three times as many floors to reach your room! In Extreme Mode, hints are also disabled. Can you reach your room in the fewest loops possible?Custom: Do you want to relive a specific an...Read full article on Community Announcements (goragarxgamedev)Patch NotesOfficial
[PATCH NOTES] Demo version 1.2
From the DevHi! GoragarX here. So far, Steam Next Fest has been great. We have gathered 400 wishlists during the event. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. This is a minor patch to update the voices mainly.Bye Bye AI!All AI voices have been updated to real VAs.A "Credits" section has been added in the Extras tab.Small dialogue changes.Trophy!A trophy has been added for beating the demo. "But Goragar! I've already beaten the demo! Do I have to play again?"Not at all! The game had a flag to check if the player had beaten the demo (to show the feedback window). The game checks that flag and automatically gives you the trophy if you had beaten the demo before.HallucinationsHallucinations that perform special actions (such as teleporting the player to a new location) now perform said actions even if the hallucinations are disabled. Disabling hallucinations only turns off visual effects.MiscSome texts have been updated. (E.g., the "Play" now says "Play Demo")Read full article on Community Announcements (goragarxgamedev)
