About this game
Backrooms Maze 2D
Step into the dim, yellow halls of the Backrooms—an endless maze where finding the way out is only part of the challenge.
Explore procedurally generated corridors, search for the key, locate the exit, and avoid the entity hunting through the darkness. Every run creates a different maze, so memorizing one route will not save you the next time.
🎮 Two Ways to Play
🔦 Main Mode
Wake up in near-total darkness with only a flashlight to guide you.
• Explore the Backrooms from a closer perspective
• Search the maze and find the key
• Locate the exit and complete your objectives
• Listen carefully for signs that you are not alone
• Escape before the entity catches you
🕹️ Classic Arcade Mode
Return to the original full-maze experience and see the entire level at once.
• Navigate a large procedurally generated maze
• Manage your sanity while searching for the exit
• Avoid enemies moving throughout the level
• Reach the green exit before you are caught or lose your sanity
⚠️ Difficulty Levels
Choose from four difficulty options:
• Easy – A calmer experience with slower enemies
• Normal – A balanced challenge with more pressure
• Hard – Faster and more dangerous enemies
• Extreme – The most intense survival challenge
✨ Features
• Two Game Modes – Experience the new Main Mode or return to Classic Arcade Mode
• Procedurally Generated Mazes – Every run creates a new layout to explore
• Objective-Based Gameplay – Find the key, locate the exit, and escape
• Flashlight System – Reveal the maze around you while darkness hides what may be nearby
• AI Enemies – Entities roam, pursue the player, and threaten every escape attempt
• Sanity System – Escape before your sanity runs out in Classic Arcade Mode
• Four Difficulty Levels – Choose between Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme
• Retro 2D Visual Style – Pixel-inspired characters, environments, and animations
• Atmospheric Audio – Electrical humming, distant noises, footsteps, and enemy sounds
• Customizable Settings – Adjust brightness, volume levels, language, and other options
• 27 Supported Languages – Interface translations are available for players around the world
• Quick Restarts – Escape, get caught, or lose your sanity, then jump into another randomly generated run
👁️ Enter the maze. Stay alert. Do not trust the darkness.
