Explore and rebuild magical islands by training skills, gathering resources, and fighting monsters. Hire townsfolk to aid you in this enchanting RPG experience from Guinea Games.

About this game

Guinea Isles is in development. You can play the "prototype demo" to get a sense of what the game is about and what to expect from the future.

Train skills, gather resources, fight monsters, hire townsfolk, and rebuild magical islands from the ground up in a cozy idle-lite adventure.

Help Squeaky the guinea sprite save his home! You've been reborn as a Buddy- a magical being that serves as a bridge between humans and guinea sprites. Using your new powers of Guinergy, it's up to you to rebuild and bring life back to the Guinea Isles.

With nothing but wooden tools in your arsenal, gather resources, train your skills, fight monsters, rebuild structures, unlock powerful upgrades, and forge your own path as a Buddy.

Guinea Isles is a unique new "idle-lite"- a blend of idle and active gameplay!

Maybe you like to theory-craft the most efficient routes through the intertwining skills and bonuses to speed run an island completion. Or maybe you prefer to relax and chop trees in the background on a second monitor. There's something to enjoy for everyone!

With a variety of goals to achieve, you'll always be making progress:

  • Train a variety of skills! Advance your talents from beginner to expert in a variety of skills, each with its own unique perk trees, masteries, synergies, and unlocks.

  • Rebuild and rank up islands! Gather resources, complete task lists, and construct buildings to unlock new gameplay mechanics and increase each island's renown.

  • Hire and upgrade townsfolk to gather resources automatically! Each island has a slew of unlockable NPCs who will gather resources over time, even when the game is inactive!

  • Collect and gather rare drops and items! Donate rare bugs, fish, crops, and more to the Newbrook museum.

    Prototype 1.3

Added in some extra menus and systems I wanted to include in 1.2, as well as some bug fixes. I also added Artifact Spots as a tiny content update, just to show how the mechanic will work in the future :)With this, I think it's time I consider the demo finished ^^ I implemented several of the ideas y'all provided recently, so if you have any more, do let me know in case I can squeeze them in. I'll also still patch any bugs or issues you find. From here on out, I'll be focusing on adding content. It'll likely mean a lot fewer updates/posts from me, but I'll try to do a dev log at least every month! The first thing I'll be doing is creating the full skill perk trees, for which I should have information to share later this month. Added- Added a Shrines page to the stats menu, which allows you to view progress on shrines and your current boons. - Added a Boosts page to the stats menu, which shows your current speed for some actions with sources for each increase. For example, you can see your woodcutting speed and a breakdown of every perk, boon, and upgrade that contributes to it. This page will be expanded on in the future. - Added a Bestiary to the stats menu, which keeps track of every monster you've cast Monster Examine on. Enemies you've defeated at least once but not examined will be shown, but won't allow you to view their examine info. - Added diggable artifact spots to the excavation skill. Artifact spots appear in the world randomly and can be dug up using increasing tiers of shovels. When dug, they provide a random reward of gems, ores, or donatable museum artifacts. Each tier of artifact spot has a unique loot table. Currently, two tiers exist: Mundane (on the surface) and Common (in caves).Changed- Guinergy costs now include a "+" next to the tier, to better convey that higher tiers can be used in substitution. - The item hover stat panel now moves to the top-left of the mouse if it would be off-screen vertically. This is most noticeable in the bottom rows o...

    Prototype 1.2

Hey everyone! After almost two months of work, I am excited to release the final major content update for the Demo! This update has 3 new skills, dozens of new items, new graphics, some new progression systems and upgrades, and a plethora of fixes and changes. With so many changes, there's bound to be a few bugs. Please let me know if you find any, as I'll be patching them over the next week or two.I have a few more final touches and systems I want to put in place for the demo, but after that I'll be switching focus to working on content for the next release, either Early Access or a full release (depending on how development goes). As you know, solo game dev takes time, so that may be months or even years away. Still, I'll be routinely posting dev-logs in the Discord whenever I can, and you can reach out to me at any time there too. ^^ Thank you so much for your support, and I hope you enjoy! Added- Added the Ranged combat skill.--- Four sets of ranged armour, 4 bows, and 4 tiers of arrows have been introduced.--- The ranged skill has 6 perks and the usual per-enemy combat masteries to unlock. --- The Upgrade Bench in the workshop has been replaced by a textile workstation, which lets you craft ranged armour.--- Bows and arrows can be crafted at any workbench.- Added the Guinergism skill.--- Three Guinergy Shrines have been added to the world, each with a unique set of lumes and powerful unlocks called boons. --- The guinergism skill has 6 perks and 3 masteries to unlock. --- Added "Mastery Tokens", which are awarded whenever you complete all five tiers of a mastery. These can be spent at Guinergy Shrines. - Added the Magic skill.--- Three sets of magic robes and 3 staffs have been introduced.--- The magic skill has 6 perks and the usual per-enemy combat masteries to unlock. --- Staves and magic robes can be crafted at arcane wheekbenches.- Added the spellbook, a new menu which lets you cast spells using guinergy.--- There are currently 8 unique spells to cast. Prototype 1.1.0

Added- Added 3 crafter townies who smelt ingots, craft planks, and cook fish. --- Upgrading a crafter townie allows them to craft higher-level items, which you can enable/disable at any time through the Crafter Townie menu. --- You can enable/disable a crafter townie through their menu at any time, or enable/disable specific recipes through the crafting townies menu.--- You can manage all crafter townies quickly through a new tab in the Town Hall menu. - Added more character customization options, such as accessories and different shirt styles.- Crafting recipe trackers now show required skill levels for crafting them, if not attained. - Added an "Unlocks History" to the stats menu, which shows your most recent 200 unlocks. - Added a progress bar beneath townies that shows how far along they are with gathering/crafting when you mouse over them. - You can now track materials for construction sites by right=clicking on them and clicking "track materials". Changed- Changed the appearance of some townies slightly- An icon now appears on recipes you don't have the materials for in the crafting menu- Building trackers will now only show a green checkmark if you also have the required gold to complete them.- Townsfolk have been majorly rebalanced. --- Townsfolk now level much more quickly. --- Townsfolk speed is now only boosted through level, not through upgrades, and caps out at 2x for a level 100 townie.--- Farmer townies grow crops much faster.--- Fisher townies catch fish slower. - Several crafting recipes have been rebalanced--- Smithed items' time requirements now scales with the amount of ingots used. Eg. Platebodies, which require 10 ingots, now take 10x as long as nails, which only require 1. To compensate, the per-ingot time has been reduced from 5s to 3s. --- Ingots are now worth about 25% less, which also affects the value of crafted/smithed items using them. --- Planks now give about 33% more experience per plank, and are worth 20% more gold. - Cursor display...

    Prototype 1.0.15

Hopefully got all of the bug spawning issues this time, but let me know if they keep being finicky! Changed- Construction trackers now include banked items when counting total materials you have. - Perks such as Forged Momentum and Consistent Cuisine (Every 5th recipe is made instantly) now reward a single, total xp drop when proccing, instead of two in really quick succession, which makes it more obvious when the effect is occurring. Fixed- Fixed a second bug spawning issue, where bug spawns would eventually get corrupted and no longer spawn bugs. - Fixed the "time to level up" estimate in the skill tracker not appearing if you were boosted to level 100 or beyond. - Fixed the lock symbol in the crafting menu being distorted.
