About this game

About Fishing is a fishing mystery game that blends the calm, meditative rhythm of fishing with the quiet tension of discovery. It drifts between serenity and unease, as every catch brings you closer to uncovering what lies beneath.

FISHING IS EVERYTHING

Each catch feels distinct, with its own patterns and behaviors waiting to be learned. Cast your line, trade your catch, upgrade your gear and explore new depths.

FISHING FOR CLUES

Every cast is a chance to uncover something unexpected. The fish you catch become your guides, helping you reach fragments of a long-forgotten mystery hidden beneath the surface. You can lose yourself in the calm of fishing or follow the clues the water offers.

A PLACE WHERE YOU BELONG

The world around you moves with time and weather. Fish linger beneath the surface, people follow quiet routines, and the town changes with each passing day. Each person you meet carries their own memories and small joys. Their lives unfold around you, drawing you closer to the peace of a place that slowly begins to feel like home.

About Fishing is developed by Kevin (The Water Museum), creator of Arctic Eggs. Made out of love for Shenmue and Sega Bass Fishing

    Store Page Notice: Language Tags

Hey everyone, Playstack Team here. If you’ve noticed a few languages disappear from our Steam store page listing, don't worry everything is running smoothly behind the scenes. As we refine our publishing setup, we've temporarily removed several language tags from the main store page. Organizing multi-region storefront assets involves a lot of moving parts, and hiding these tags keeps our store setup clean while we finalize the underlying publishing flow. What you need to know:Additional languages won't appear in the right-hand sidebar for a little while. These store page language tags will be re-enabled down the road as we progress through our release schedule. I just don’t know what to say…

Hey,Remember when, 20 days ago, I casually mentioned that About Fishing crossed 100,000 wishlists? When I posted that I thought - yeah, this is it. I have all the wishlists I need! (Especially when I think about how three years ago, right before Arctic Eggs came out, that number was 12,000 and I was sweating about it)Well. Someone has to hold my hand while I say this, but...About Fishing has over 145,000 wishlists now. This is surreal! Since the demo went up, it's been downloaded 54,000 times.Literally 54,000 of you decided to give this little game a shot. Thank you. For your time, your interest, and your support.Looking at these numbers leaves me without the ability to speak, but this is nothing compared to reading the feedback from the Google Form that you kindly left. All the nice words, all the valuable feedback, all the suggestions. Wow, just wow. Thank you so much for your help 🙏 And by looking at how many people love the turtle, I'd like to announce my next game titled: "About Turtling."You know what else happened? Someone made an Instagram reel and posted it with the caption. That reel did 3.1 million views. That's the kind of thing I didn’t expect when we started cooking this thing with Angel Perez Guzman, Cameron Ginex, and Jonny Doobs. So, thank you - to the person who made that, and to everyone who's wishlisted, played the demo, or sent it to a friend who probably wasn't expecting a fishing game to unsettle them like that. Now a few words about the amazing community we're all a part of. I want to give a shoutout to the people who make this place what it is - the ones who show up, contribute, and somehow always find a reason to be a part of it.Take the trees. Some rando in a Steam News post asked you to share photos from your walks, and you just... did. No real reason, no prize, you just brought them. (pic totally unrealated) And then there are the artists. People who took actual time and actual talent and pointed it at this weird little fishing game, jus...
