    A Normal Day on Mars

Hello Mars Survivors! 👋 Over the last few weeks, we've been focused primarily on testing, balancing, and polishing the game to make your experience on Mars as smooth as possible. 🛠️ But that's not all! We've also been hard at work expanding core gameplay with new events, a building damage system, UI improvements, inventory upgrades, and a few other exciting features we're happy to share today. 🌌 Dynamic Planetary Events 🌪️ Mars is becoming even more unpredictable! We now have three types of events in the game: cold snaps, sandstorms, and solar storms. Each of them can occur with different intensity depending on the season, and each one affects the environment in its own way, creating different challenges for survival. For example, solar storms increase radiation, so staying outside the shelter or going on expeditions can be more dangerous than normal. Solar storms will have three levels— normal, hard and extreme. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/f0ec219646cd6f31f007690ff47c71b94e27f410.png We also added a building damage system during these events. When a solar storm or sandstorm hits hard enough, devices can get damaged, so repairs become an important part of staying alive on Mars. UI Improvements 🖥️ We've also continued refining the user interface to make managing your base more intuitive. One example is the improved Drone Panel, where you can easily monitor what each drone is currently doing, assign new tasks, and better organize your automated workforce. There is so much that can happen at Mars, so having clear information at your fingertips makes all the difference. 🤖 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/0fa942290eeb62dbc02a3d2dd4a50fb9171a79ee.png Inventory Slots 🎒 We’ve also added a slot system, allowing players to carry several items at the same time. This gives you greater flexibility while exploring the Martian surface, reduces unnecessary trips back to base, and makes inventory management much more practical. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/62c0e317c7bb051b68794d7559a64e5f...

    Moving Across Mars!

Hello Survivors! 👋 A bright new day on Mars, a perfect moment to check out another devlog! This time we're showing an upgrade to our existing vehicle to make it better suited for Mars conditions and more helpful for longer expeditions beyond base. Mobile Shelter 🚐 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/8398d94834e508ca20226c781148584fec2b2e59.jpg After your feedback, we're replacing the current vehicle with a new one that is much better suited to the harsh conditions of Mars. This is no longer just a basic means of transport but a fully functional mobile shelter designed to support deep exploration and long-range expeditions. 🗺️ Inside the vehicle, you’ll be able to charge batteries, refill oxygen tanks, store collected materials, and manage essential supplies needed for building and expanding outposts. It acts as a secure, self-sustaining hub that keeps you alive and operational even far away from the main base. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/b35b651509339d83f46ed250dd01c70f38a1109a.png The upgraded system is designed to make longer journeys more practical, strategic, and far less risky. Instead of constantly returning to base for resupply, you can plan extended missions, explore distant regions, and gather resources more efficiently. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/662ca45f3ff7b8ce27c060ee1c3b900e7abb7152.gif With this change, we want to encourage true exploration of Mar. You will be able to venture further, stay out longer, and rely on your mobile shelter as your lifeline in the unknown. Develpment state ⚙️ We are entering an advanced stage of production. Currently we're working on end game content, but we don't want to reveal much about it. The secrets of Mars are to uncover for you and you alone! 🚀 At the same time, we're focused on bugfixing, balancing and polishing the game to ensure everything runs as it should. Stay tuned and prepare for what comes next to the dangerous Mars! In the meantime, remember to add 687 Days on Mars to your Wishlist and press the Follow button so yo...

    Seasons of Mars

Hello Astronauts! 👋 Welcome to the new devlog! Today we're talking about ever-changing Mars, which will not stay static while you are trying to survive in it. Mars is not just one big desert - It is a planet with seasons, weather and cataclysmic natural events that Earth would not survive, but you for sure can if you prepare well enough! Seasons of Mars ☁️ {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/77ceac2ad305d2d8bc058f331b12ed57015f153d.png You will experience all four seasons, each with their own changes and threats. Spring 🌸 will have more sunstorms and magnetic interference, Summer 🌻 comes with giant sandstorms capable of damaging your equipment, Fall 🍂 arrives with strong dust winds that will cover your solar panels, while Winter ❄️ will drain the energy of your base with huge temperature drops! Each season will force you to adapt your strategy and prepare ahead of time. You could try to survive everything by reacting, but you will have much bigger chances of survival if you prepare for each season accordingly. Mars does not forgive ! Weather Events 🌩️ From sudden temperature drops to massive planet-wide sandstorms capable of blocking solar panels for weeks, Mars will constantly challenge your survival skills. Random events can strike at any moment, putting your preparation, resource management and base design to the ultimate test. Time to think Astronauts!

Hello Astronauts! Another transmission from Mars comes in… 🧑‍🚀 As you saw before, Mars will require plenty of endurance and grit from you to survive it. But also some quick thinking and a flexible mind! Conditions can change in an instant, and every decision may carry weight you won’t feel until it’s too late. That is why today we’re introducing the research and technology development mechanics on Mars! You will have to decide what you need, one discovery at a time. So choose carefully! Research Station: Technology Tree 🔬 The first step is to build a Research Station. This is where data from your Mars explorations is processed, and where new technologies are unlocked—related to base expansion, food production, resource processing, and forecasting dangerous atmospheric phenomena. You will have to decide what should be the priority, what you need at the moment to increase your odds! Every unlocked technology opens new possibilities—but also new dilemmas. There is never enough time to research everything. Careful planning and adaptation will define your success. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/5ac7860b53b649b5b6b3d3b056a338dadea324a8.png Collecting Data and Samples for Research 🧪 To unlock technology, you often need to complete tasks related to it—explore Mars, collect regolith samples, or build sonars that scan resource deposits and gather data for further analysis. The more you explore, the more you will unravel! But you will need to find balance between research and actual resources you need right now to survive another day. Knowledge will give you nothing if you are not able to use it! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45713503/0d26eb55a6df97be7fc89dd9760d88e9e04df962.jpg Conducting Technology Research 🔎 You deliver the collected data to the Research Station and perform analyses. This is a time-consuming process, it can take several or even over a dozen Martian days. Procedurally generated maps will make unlocking each technology a unique challenge. Keep exploring, keep researching—y...
