About this game
Story
When a person faces an unjustified death, their soul cannot find rest. These restless spirits transform into horrifying beings known as the Unresting. To banish an Unresting, the soul must be re-executed—killed once more. When hordes of the Unresting gather, a re-executor is summoned. Re-executors are warriors specially trained to eliminate the Unresting, wielding weapons made from human bones, believed to be most effective against these restless horrors. The land of Liandra is on the brink of being overrun by the Unresting. A skilled re-executor named Ivona is sent to cleanse the land. However, shortly after her arrival, she disappears. As the Unresting swarm the land, a new re-executor called Noose arrives. Armed with a whip made from human spines, Noose sets out on a mission—to finish the re-execution and find Ivona.

Demo version 0.2.5.0.
This update introduces a new mechanic that significantly impacts gameplay: the slide.Originally popularized by a certain Blue Bomber, the slide mechanic provides players with more combat options, add or decrease the distance to your enemies. It also enhances exploration, as certain areas can only be accessed via sliding, as well as being a quicker way to travel through levels. In response to the new slide mechanic, some parts of levels have been redesigned, adding shortcuts and adjusting jumping sections to improve fairness.Additionally, new signs have been added to the tutorial level as visual indicators to guide players. The boss, Armless Maiden, has been slightly adjusted:She is now more durable and less easily defeated (this is a somewhat experimental change). Her projectile attack (when she spits rat skulls) can now be deflected back, causing critical damage to the.She can still be defeated through normal means, but the new deflect mechanic offers additional strategic options. The game’s intro has been completely reworked, featuring full animation and new music, providing a more engaging start.I highly encourage everyone to revisit the demo, as the slide mechanic greatly enhances the gameplay’s fluidity and speed.List of Changes:Added slide mechanic for the player.Fully reworked the game intro with animation and new music.Chandeliers in the first level now swing (again) as an attempt to draw in the players attention and hit them.Increased boss durability.Boss projectiles (small rat skulls) can now be deflected for dealing critical damage.Added sound effects for boss projectile creation(small rat skulls).Whip upgrades are now equipped immediately after purchase.Sylpha Halberdiers (the green pike-wielding enemies) now have a slight windup delay before attacking.Fixed gold layering issues: gold now appears in front of candles, not behind them.Made the first encounter with Skull Scorcher (fire-spitting enemy) more accessible for new players.Adjusted jump sections in bo...Read full article on Community Announcements (Pink Anvil)AnnouncementsOfficial
Demo version 0.2.4.6
A while back, it was pointed out that the hood of the main protagonist looks a bit like a clan member. This was never my intention, and any sort of resemblance, even vague, is not ideal. So, as a precaution, I made the choice to alter the headwear slightly—changing the face a bit, as well as making the hood slightly longer. This update changes the player's appearance slightly, while still remaining recognizable. Personally, I like this new design more, as I feel it gives the player a bit more character. I hope you like the new look as well. I'll update the screenshots a bit later, as well as the GIFs on the store page. Unfortunately, the demo trailer will still retain the old hood design, at least for now. Here's the list of the rest of the fixes and tweaks:New hood design for the playerSkeletons and other bony enemies now have a different color, as they were accidentally green (I'm partially color blind and didn't notice until now)A bunch of other graphical fixes and adjustmentsFixed main menu sub-weapon changing, as returning to the main menu from mid-game allowed the player to change sub-weaponsCleaned up an old hidden beetroot from the challenge levelThe Deflector Grip Is now a bit more powerful, and works against the Wall Stalker's projectiles (the rapid-firing white skull enemy)Deflecting enemy projectiles with this equipped now creates some extra sparkle effectsRead full article on Community Announcements (Pink Anvil)AnnouncementsOfficial
Demo Version 0.2.4.5
After gathering feedback and observing gameplay, I’ve added a new mechanic: the player can now use the whip and sub-weapons while climbing ladders. This means the player is no longer defenseless during ladder sequences. In addition, I made a few minor changes, such as in the ladder room in Challenge Level 1, where you now need to use this new ladder attack mechanic to activate the button. There are also a few added candles in the tutorial level to encourage players to try out this mechanic.Another update concerns the splash screen. Originally, it used GameMaker Studio 2’s built-in splash screen system, but after some investigation, I found that this might have caused crashes for some players when launching the game from Steam. Note that this might not still fix the issue, but hopefully it will.Besides these updates, there are some smaller fixes listed below.Have a whipping weekend! List of fixes:Added the ability for the player to use the whip and sub-weapons while climbing a ladderChanged the splash screen display methodAdded notes about the new ladder mechanics in the tutorial areaAdded a very minor vertical momentum when the player let's go of a ladder, improving ladder platforming slightlyAdjusted the collider size at the top of laddersFixed an issue where the player could grab a ladder when pressing down while already on solid ground, which could cause the player to get stuckFixed a sub-weapon loading issue where the last equipped sub-weapon was not saved when saving and loading a gameRemoved V-Sync, as it might also cause crashes for some users when launching the gameAdjusted the collider size of the Armless Maiden’s projectilesAdded minor visual hints in Challenge Level 1 to make some secrets slightly easier to find, as players were having trouble discovering themSome small graphical adjustmentsRead full article on Community Announcements (Pink Anvil)AnnouncementsOfficial
