Design and build factories deep underground in MineMogul, an indie simulation where every machine adds to the challenge. Master automation and resources as you progress from miner to mogul.

About this game

Design and build a factory deep underground in this physics-based automation sandbox. Mine resources, buy machines and master the chaos as you become the ultimate Mine Mogul!

Build A Sprawling Factory

Enjoy the casual construction of massive, interconnected factories deep underground. Wind conveyors through twisting mineshafts, connect machines, and harness physics to automate your every need.

Explore The Unknown

Venture into the mysterious, hollowed shell of a forgotten cave system. Discover secrets, unearth hidden resources, and rebuild among the ruins of abandoned mining operations. Every cavern holds new opportunities for the ambitious mogul.

Manage The Chaos

As your factory grows, so does the madness! Conveyors overflow, parts scatter, and unexpected physics mishaps keep you on your toes. Tweak your designs, optimize machine placement, and find creative solutions to keep the gears turning and the chaos under control.

System Requirements

Will my PC run this? →

Minimum

Minimum:
  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i5-10400
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 950 or Radeon R9 380
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 2 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: This game uses real physics simulation for everything. Having a stronger CPU will allow for more physics objects. The Min CPU listed should be enough to support about 2000 objects at once

    Mega Optimization Update

Enjoy higher FPS, the mega optimization update is here!New Physics Engine, mega fps boostWe converted the game to use the new Box3D physics engine. It roughly doubles FPS on large factories, and gives an insane FPS boost on mega factories which were previously unplayable. I tested it on a few different save files:This is a huge change to how the physics simulation works. We've been testing it for the past month, but there are likely to be issues with it that we haven't seen yet. If you notice any issues, please let us know! Steam Discussions & Discord are the best place to report bugs.Explosive BarrelsThese explosive barrels don't serve any real gameplay purpose currently. They're just a fun thing you can buy in the shop to play with the new physics engine! If you're in sandbox mode, you can press "R" while looking at it with the Ore Spawner Tool to clone it(However, it can't be selected from the spawn menu currently)Throwable DynamiteNew Throwable Dynamite is also buyable in the "Dev Test" section of the shop. They work great as a pickaxe replacement!Paint ToolWe also added the highly request Paint Tool, which allows you to change the color of your conveyors and the new metal wallsOriginally we weren't planning on releasing the Paint Tool with this update. The menu for selecting colors is very basic and needs some improvement. But it's fully functional other than not being able to add custom colors. So there's no real reason to delay it :)Nerd Stuff about the physics enginePreviously MineMogul used Unity's default physics engine. Thousands of games use it, it works great! However, it wasn't able to handle thousands of moving physics objects very well. One of the limitations was that it mainly only used 1 CPU core for most of the calculations, however, computers have many. Usually between 4 - 16.Box3D fully utilizes multithreading for the physics simulation (along with many other optimizations)The official Box3D docs recommends only using the main performance CPU core...

Cased & Coiled Update + Translations!

The Cased & Coiled Update is out now! This update includes 2 new main processing machines, elevators, unpackager, improvements to boxes, and translations to 10 languages.Casing PressScrap accumulates as casings are created. When the machine is full, it will eject a Scrap Cube, which can be sold directly or recycled in a furnace.Wire CoilerStretches out Rods and links them together to make a Wire Coil. Unlike the Threading Lathe, this machine is quite fast.ElevatorsWe added two new elevators! These were pretty tricky to design because we want to keep everything in the game using real physics. The first is the Screw Conveyor. It uses an Archimedes' screw to bring ore up at a much steeper angle.Roller ElevatorWe originally designed it for raising boxes, but you might find it works well for other things too :)It's a little weird to build it currently. After placing it down, you need to press "F" to interact with it to raise or lower the height. This is something I want to improve in the future when updating the general building systems.Unpackager & Box ImprovementsYou can now unpackage boxes made in the (newly improved) Packager!Boxes can now be used for transporting objects longer distances to help reduce total object count. There's also been an number of improvements to the physics of the boxes. They've also been made slightly smaller. In general, they should work much more reliably now.Other StuffWe added some other stuff too! Like the Polished Sorter, Roller Merger, Fence Walls, etc.The Packager is also now out of "Dev Test", and has received some improvements!LocalizationMineMogul is now available in the following languages:简体中文 (Simplified Chinese)Français (French)Deutsch (German)한국어 (Korean)Português - Brasil (Portuguese - Brazil)Русский (Russian)Español - España (Spanish - Spain) 日本語 (Japanese)Polski (Polish)Italiano (Italian)The translations are mostly finished, but there's a few minor UI issues in some languages that we'll be fixing these over the next couple we...

Showing off the roadmap & next update!

Next update! We started working on the next large update, featuring new machines & language translations!LocalizationWe're translating the game! We're planning on adding these languages initially:简体中文 (Simplified Chinese)Français (French)Deutsch (German)한국어 (Korean)Português - Brasil (Portuguese - Brazil)Русский (Russian)Español (Spanish)日本語 (Japanese)Polski (Polish)Italiano (Italian) - NEW, added by community request!Updated RoadmapHere's our updated list of what we're planning on working on in the near future! This isn't a complete list, and it's subject to change.Steam BundleWe're doing a bundle with shapez 2 to celebrate their new 1.0 release!Testing new machinesWe've already started testing some of the new features on the Experimental Branch, with more to come!Future ThoughtsAfter we finish this update, I want to spend some time experimenting with a new, multithreaded physics engine. In most other games, all of the items on the conveyor belts are fake, purely visual and not-interactive. But in MineMogul, everything uses 100% real physics simulation. This is really fun, but it's very demanding on the CPU, so it limits how many objects the game is able to have at once before the FPS starts to lower. So, if the new multithreaded physics engine works out well, we'd potentially be able to have way more physics objects at the same time, and much bigger factories! Thanks for playing MineMogul! We look forward to all your feedback in the Steam Discussions and Discord. Also, if you're enjoying the game and the updates, please leave a review!
