Manage a gladiator school in Gladiator Command, an indie strategy game set in 2026. Recruit unique fighters, develop your business acumen, and face the brutal arena challenges that define your legacy.

About this game

In Gladiator Command, you take control of a struggling Ludus in ancient Rome and transform it into a school worthy of legend. Recruit promising fighters, shape their development, manage the business behind the bloodshed, and watch your decisions play out in brutal real-time arena combat.

A successful Ludus is built far from the cheering crowds. Manage your training grounds, hire staff, balance finances, oversee recovery, and decide how hard to push your fighters.

Every decision has consequences. Aggressive training can produce faster results, but exhausted or injured gladiators will not survive long in the arena.

Search for new talent and build a roster around your own strategy. Every gladiator arrives with different attributes, traits and potential but what they become is up to you.

Develop their skills, choose their specialisation, and turn inexperienced recruits into distinctive fighters. Build heavily protected defenders, agile duelists, relentless attackers, or specialists capable of controlling the arena.

Your gladiators are investments, warriors and individuals. Know when to develop them, when to sell them and when a valuable fighter is worth risking.

Once the arena gates open, preparation becomes performance.

Watch your gladiators fight in real time using the attributes, skills and specialisations you developed. Nets trap opponents, shields absorb punishment, weapons find openings, and a single decisive strike can end even the most promising career.

There are no meaningless victories. Every fight carries consequences for the gladiator and the Ludus that sent them into the sand.

Take on increasingly dangerous opponents, enter multi-round tournaments, earn prestige, and unlock greater opportunities for your school.

Victories bring money and recognition, but lasting success demands more than one champion. Build a roster capable of surviving injuries, changing circumstances and the relentless demands of Rome’s arenas.

Grow from an overlooked training school into a celebrated Ludus whose name and blood-soaked legacy will be remembered throughout the empire.

Recruit them. Shape them. Send them into the arena.

V0.800 - Carnifex 2h class, Living Leagues & Arena Overhaul

Hey everyone,V0.800 is here! This is one of the largest updates to Gladiator Command so far.V0.800 introduces the brand new Carnifex two-handed class, a complete overhaul of rival schools and the league system, 6 new boss encounters, new arena fight types, a major attribute and skill expansion, visually represented Ludus staff, extensive UI improvements and much more.A major focus of this update has been making the world outside of your own Ludus feel more alive.New game will be required.Let's jump straight into it.The Carnifex Has ArrivedAfter the Retiarius, one of the most requested additions has been a proper two-handed class.Well... "Your will, my hands."Introducing the Carnifex. The Carnifex is a slow but devastating damage dealer built around Strength and enormous two-handed weapons. While other classes may rely on speed, defence or controlling their opponent, the Carnifex has a somewhat simpler philosophy.Hit them very, very hard. The class launches with:8 new two-handed weapons8 new combat animationsA completely new two-handed combat styleTwo unique combat abilitiesUnstoppable SwingRequires 15 Strength. The Carnifex delivers a devastating swing that cannot be blocked or dodged and deals an additional 10% damage.Shield BreakerRequires 25 Strength. The Carnifex destroys the opponent's shield, removing it for the remainder of the fight. The shield is restored after combat. The Carnifex is powerful, but that power comes at the cost of speed. Picking the right opponent and surviving long enough to land those enormous attacks will be crucial.Strength & Vitality OverhaulThe original Strength attribute was responsible for both health and damage. As the number of classes and builds has expanded, I felt those two roles needed to be separated.Health is now governed by the new Vitality attribute, while Strength remains responsible for damage. This also gives the two attributes much clearer identities. The Murmillo is now primarily a Vitality class, reinforcing its role as the game...

I couldn't be happier with how it has turned out.The Retiarius unlocks once a gladiator reaches 10 Charisma and offers a completely different combat style compared to every other class in the game.Unlike traditional gladiators, the Retiarius:Cannot wear helmetsReceives a Dodge bonusFights using a trident (slight reach advantage) and netExcels at controlling opponents rather than simply overpowering themThe class introduces an entirely new combat mechanic through Net Entanglement. With every attack, the Retiarius attempts to entangle the enemy using the net. Players using the Aggressive stance will instead throw the net immediately, giving a much higher chance of trapping the opponent.Whether the net succeeds depends on the agility of both gladiators, making fast opponents much harder to capture.5 New Tridents & Net EquipmentFive brand new tridents have been added to the game, along with the Retiarius' iconic combat net.The new equipment gives the class its own distinct identity and opens the door for even more unique equipment in future updates.New Retiarius Combat SkillsThe class launches with two unique combat abilities.Net SweepA powerful sweeping attack that knocks an opponent to the ground while keeping hold of the net.Venomous NetEntangled enemies can now be poisoned, allowing the Retiarius to slowly wear down trapped opponents while they struggle to escape.New Dialogue & Morale BonusesChoosing the Retiarius class now unlocks new dialogue and morale interactions.Like the other specialisati...

V0.735 Morale, Relationships & Rival Fights

Update OverviewThis update expands the morale and relationship systems that started taking shape in the previous update.Gladiators now react more clearly to poor morale, rivalries can escalate into actual fights inside the ludus, and relationship details are now easier to understand. This update also includes tutorial improvements, UI improvements, trait fixes, visual polish, and quality of life changes. ========================================Save CompatibilityExisting saves are compatible.========================================Morale SystemMorale is now a much more important part of gladiator management.Every gladiator has a morale value from 0 to 100. Morale affects combat performance, training efficiency, relationships, and in extreme cases, whether a gladiator is willing to fight at all.Morale now naturally drifts downward each day unless you manage it through victories, friendships, light training, sponsorships, and good roster decisions. This should make morale feel like something you actively manage instead of just another number sitting on the gladiator card.========================================Morale LevelsMorale is now split into five clear levels.Broken0 to 19 moraleBroken gladiators suffer heavy combat penalties to damage, dodge, block, and attack speed. They may also refuse to fight in the arena, dropping their weapons instead of engaging properly.Disciplined gladiators are the exception. They will always fight, even when morale is Broken.Shaken20 to 39 morale - Shaken gladiators suffer moderate combat penalties. They can still fight, but their damage, dodge, block, and attack speed are reduced.Stable40 to 74 morale - Stable morale is the baseline state. Gladiators at this level receive no morale bonuses or penalties.Confident75 to 89 morale - Confident gladiators receive combat bonuses to damage, dodge, block, and attack speed.Inspired90 to 100 morale - Inspired gladiators receive the strongest morale bonuses to damage, dodge, block, and attack speed...
