Explore and fight your way through a harsh open world as you level up and scavenge for survival in CRABS MUST DIE!, an action-packed adventure from Roman Kharlamov.

About this game

CRABS MUST DIE! — open-world shooter with some RPG vibes and a whole lot of crabs.

Think your favorite sci-fi post-apocalyptic action-RPG — just 100 times smaller. A compact, love-made open-world adventure by one solo dev, with zero budget and lots of passion for the genre.

What You Can Expect:

6–7 hours of open-world gameplay — starring crabs, raiders, meat-hungry zombies, and totally deranged robots. Your weapons? A trusty shotgun and a cold bottle of beer.

  • 🦀 Variety of Enemies

Everyone wants you dead, so shoot first. Some charge straight at you, others shoot from a distance, and some just explode right under your feet. You’ll figure it out.

  • 🏜️ Some Kind of Open World

There’s places. Some of them aren’t full of crabs. You can explore if you feel like it. Ride your half-broken bike or just walk.

There are a few quests, a bit of story, some odd radio tunes (including classical and oldies), and plenty of junk to loot and turn into ammo.

  • 🔫 Perks, Guns, Stats.

Pick from pistols, assault rifles, shotguns, carbines — maybe even a katana, if you're feeling fancy. Unlock perks, tweak your stats, and hunt down legendary weapon crates. Go melee, try stealth (not recommended, but technically possible), or just shoot everything that moves.

You also get active abilities — like summoning a robot buddy who’s almost helpful (on a good day).

Made with the GLORIOUS Unreal Engine 5

Built using the finest game engine known to humanity — Unreal Engine 5. Thanks to Lumen lighting and some black magic, even a solo noob like me managed to make things look surprisingly decent. And yeah — it actually runs pretty well.

    Minor QoL Patch

Sorry for the radio silence since release. I haven't touched the game in six months, mostly because I've been busy just trying to make a living. I'd really love to improve it further and add more content down the line because I genuinely like this project myself, so I might return to it later. Custom Movement: Added the ability to rebind movement keys from the default WASD. Inventory Hotkey: Inventory can now be rebound to a different key. Quest Fix: Fixed a bug where the Transmitter (quest item) could fall through the map textures. MMB Support: The Middle Mouse Button (MMB) can now be used for keybindings. Garage Spawn: The bike will now automatically spawn in the garage at "Romashka" Station once you accept the main quest involving the station staff, even if you haven't ridden the bike yet.

    Post-Launch Patch

Hey guys, thanks for playing Crabs. Most people complain about low ammo and crashes. Sadly, I still can't fix the crashes, can't find the cause. Sorry, it's not laziness or not wanting to, I just can't reproduce the bug on my end. Here is a small patch. You asked for a couple settings, added them. In a few days I'll add VSync and more ammo. Thanks everyone! Patch Changes: -Mouse inversion added -FPS lock setting added -Easy mode got even easier – more loot, enemies deal less damage -Removed screen percentage setting that could sometimes crash the game
