Premise

Aether Corp (AECO) rose to power by selling immortality. They developed the technology that transfers a human soul and binds it to a machine. High-end robotic models go to the elites. Everyone else signs up for the basic model, often getting trapped in debt doing the company's bidding.

To enforce their rule, AECO's executives employ ninjas to silence dissent and eliminate threats. Meanwhile, the corporation's science division conducts horrific experiments in secret.

You wake up with a fragmented memory in an underground facility. AECO has stolen your soul and now you are dying. You need to take it back.

Development

Aethercore is a solo-developed game. It's still in active development, so features and system requirements may change before launch.

    Elemental Offense in Aethercore

In Aethercore you fight like a battle mage, balancing the use of spells and physical attacks. Spells are built around elemental themes. Here are the offensive ones:FireEffective against Humanoids and Creatures.Flame Burst lets you charge a flaming projectile. The longer you charge, the bigger and stronger it gets. Great for picking off enemies from afar.Flame Breath is a short range attack that can damage multiple enemies in a line. I'm planning to have you turn a little bit while casting so you can aim at enemies, but it's not implemented yet. This was suggested by a tester (if you want to help me test, see below).LightningEffective against Robos and Slimes.Lightning Bolt instantly zaps an enemy and deals a lot of stun damage. Great for single target Robo enemies.Storm Surge discharges electric pulses in a fairly large area around a target. Best used against clumps of slimes. The other elements are more support focused. I'll show those off next time.
