About this game
Premise
Cliff Kingdom lies within a cliff in the middle of the sea. Created by the old ones, long gone. A safe refuge signaled by the lighthouse on top. But the light is lost. The kingdom spiraling into chaos and greed by its inhabitants obsessed with finding the true source of the light.
You awake as Mothboy, born without his wings, last in a long line of lightkeepers summoned when something goes wrong, tasked with searching for the lost light in the depths of the kingdom.

Game features
A deep underground cave-system in a cliff with many interconnected biomes, inhabited by animals, mutated monsters and machines from the past.
Climb on walls and ceilings, and gain new movement abilities along your journey as you find your lost wings and take to the skies.
Tight combat system with precision controller.
Meet the locals of the cliff. Some who are fleeing from the terrors of the deep, and some who relish in what the stolen light has to offer. All inspired by the nordic fauna.

Brave the darkness of the cliff with your trusted tool, the lantern.
The lantern shines the way, helps you open locked paths, and can be equipped with passive and active abilities gathered along your journey.Experience an emotional and haunting soundtrack by Aleksander Waaktaar with inspiration from nordic roots.

Next week gamescom is happening. We will be there from Sunday til Friday, showcasing Cliff Kingdom to other developers, publishers and more.Monday/Tuesday - meet us at booth I-20 at gamescom dev.Wednesday/Thursday - meet us at the Nordic all star booth in Hall 4.1.We also got nominated for the "Visual excellence"-award!A new version of the demo is also out. Demo patch notes & Nordic games
Next week we are attending the Nordic games conference in Sweden to show off Cliff Kingdom. An updated demo will be live during the event lasting until 02. June.Patch notes:Changed height slightly of the vertical "up"-attack box.Added some "wall-lanterns". Both normal and some to indicate secret areas.Optimized some areas in the demo.Fixed some typos in text.Fixed that you could cheeze/stunlock the first boss by taking a little bit of damage and then pogo indefinitely.Fixed that the lord lemmus lemmus boss got respawned after defeating him.Changed the HUD ui so the stamina bar and health-orbs are more visible.Added dialogue to the lemmus woman NPC in one of the first rooms..Less camera shake on moving boxes when they stop.Less camera shake when getting closer to laser beams.Fixed some areas where the foreground elements where obscuring the main character.When you have found a map the map now opens up by default to the area you are in.Fixed issue with latency on mini-map navigation.Added left/right navigation to the map-screen itself.Added more legend elements for navigation on the map.Added a slight fade in/out effect of the light shield.Added sound FX and effects when light shield is hit.Added counter-attack when enemies hits the lightshield to be pushed back.Added new solutions pictures, and also added an icon of the lightlock to make it clearer what they are used for.Improved the "thud" sound when hitting enemies.If you have free "slots" for lantern abilities, they get automatically equipped when you get new ones.Fixed a bug that allowed you to stand in spikes after doing a very low pogo without taking damage.Fixed so that the "smoke" behind the player is correctly offset when underwater.Added a slight fade-in for the togglable lights in the dark roomsChanged the effects for when mothboy takes damage to be a little less.. extreme.Fixed the gap between the wall and the player when wallclimbing in certain areas.Added that you also use stamina when walljumping.Read full article on Community Announcements (starfckr)AnnouncementsOfficial

Demo patch notes 14.05.2026
Fixed some usability issues with learning how to climb in the first levels.Added that gnome bots run away scared by default if you have already destroyed one of their kind.Change the intensity of the smoke and light of the light beam-traps.Lowered the duration of damage given after the death AOE explosion effect of infected flies.Fixed a visual bug where you could not see environmental damage in a specific room in the early caves.Added a missing environmental damage trap-respawner by the currency-tree in the first wall-climb platforming section.Optimized the colliders for environmental damage (spikes / thorns, etc) to make them more forgiving when on edges.Instead of using movement controller to move camera to "peek", you can now use right stick on controllers, or YGHJ on keyboard.Fixed colliders for the explosives when encountering the stranded whale.Added whale-gore in the room where you first meet the stranded whale post explosionStamina now stops depleting when in player is in air or walljumping.Improved visuals of stamina bar. Less bright and green when mana is full, and gradually brighter towards red when depleting mana.Added less delay to the start of depletion of mana to make it more obvious that it starts almost immediately.Widened the downward attack bounding box slightly to allow for easier pogoing on environments and enemies.Fixed typo in "Bestiary" in the scrapbook.Added tabs in the scrapbook as visual clues for where you are.Fixed bug with the light-lock dealing damage a second time after you first receive damage after a faulty combination.Increased the slight of the skeleton-model of mothboy slightly.Added tutorial text for the first times you encounter an item that must be brought to a safe zone to be collected.Lemmus lemmus boss could be stunlocked. Fixed. He also had an issue with being able to take damage in un-infected areas.Added the map-"beacon" to the general store instead of as an opossum mother price.
