About this game
SPARTAN GAMES - Fair Play Guarantee
AEXXOS is 100% no pay-to-win. Any real-money purchases are purely cosmetic—account-
locked ship skins and vanity items—so every spaceship, ammunition and upgrade must be earned through gameplay. Your skill and strategy, not your wallet, decide your fate in the Galaxy.
What is AEXXOS?
Strap into the captain’s chair and command your destiny in AEXXOS. From your starship’s bridge, you’ll chart hyperspace routes, accept daring missions, and engage in heart-pounding PvP battles. Dock at bustling space stations to barter resources, coordinate fleet maneuvers with fellow captains, or execute stealth raids on rival convoys. With over 25 ship variants and 25+ upgrade choices, you’ll fine-tune engines, shields, weapons, and specialized modules to match your tactics—whether you’re a lightning-fast scout or a siege-ready dreadnought. Every loadout decision and alliance you forge shapes a living galaxy where your reputation is the ultimate currency.
Living Galaxy
AEXXOS’s universe runs on a living, player-driven economy—every resource you use comes from looting, trading, or conquering. Planets vary in what they offer: some lower-tier worlds yield raw ore, ammunition, and basic salvage, while more perilous systems reward daring captains with rare, high-grade materials. Pillage derelict ships for spare parts, conquer rival outposts to claim their stockpiles, or establish trade routes between star systems. As supply and demand shift, savvy captains buy low and sell high, turning battlefield loot into galactic influence.
Conquer the Galaxy
Forge your own path to supremacy: operate as a lone wolf carving out a reputation through daring raids and solo bounties, or ally with fellow captains in player-led corporations to seize control of star sectors rich in resources. Coordinate blockades against rival factions, plan synchronized assaults on orbital defenses, and defend your trade routes with fleet-wide tactics. Whether you’re staking a claim on a distant mining colony planet or rallying an armada to besiege an enemy stronghold, teamwork and strategic planning will determine who rules the galaxy—and whose legend endures among the stars.
Indie Passion Project
Born from the vision of a solo, dedicated indie developer, AEXXOS is our love letter to the classic MMOs of yesteryear and the communities that brought them to life. We’ve kept each feature intuitive for quick jump-in-and-play fun, while rewarding those who dive deeper with meaningful progression and discovery. And we’re only just getting started—this release lays the foundation for a universe we plan to expand and refine for years to come. Proudly self-funded and self-published, AEXXOS launches free of corporate influence and without any crowdfunding campaign—just pure passion driving every update. As a true passion project, we pledge to keep the universe growing—expect regular free updates, seasonal events, and fresh content drops as we build AEXXOS together with our players.

Update 0.4.1: Steam Login & Languages Beta
Update 0.4.1 is here! This update focuses on making AEXXOS easier to start and more welcoming to players around the world, with two major new features: Steam login and our Languages Beta. Log In with Steam You can now select PLAY WITH STEAM from the login screen for a much faster way to get into the game. If your Steam account is already linked to an existing AEXXOS account, you will return to the same account and characters. If it is not linked, a new AEXXOS account will be created automatically and connected to your Steam account—no separate registration form or password required. The existing email-and-password login remains available and works as before. Please note: Steam login will not merge an existing AEXXOS account that has not already been linked. Continue using your email and password to access characters on an unlinked account. Our goal is simple: fewer steps between launching AEXXOS and entering the galaxy. Languages Beta AEXXOS is now available in: English Simplified Chinese Spanish Brazilian Portuguese German French Russian New players can choose their language from the login screen. You can change it at any time under Settings > Language, and your selection will be saved automatically. English is fully supported, while the other six languages are launching in beta. Localization is still a work in progress, so you may encounter awkward text wrapping, sizing or clipping, as well as some text that still appears in English. We wanted to release the system now because better language support makes onboarding clearer and helps more players feel at home in AEXXOS. If you find a translation or interface issue, please share a screenshot in our Discord community and let us know which language you were using. Additional Improvements & Fixes Improved login, connection, and startup reliability. Improved auction item pickup and fixed quantity-related issues. Improved quest and dialogue behavior when changing languages. Corrected cases where world-space labels coul...Read full article on Community Announcements (DOER)AnnouncementsOfficial

Dev Talk – Inventory Rework in Update 0.4.0
🚀 Dev Talk – Inventory Rework & What’s Coming in Update 0.4.0Hey everyone,Update 0.4.0 marks the first major content and feature-focused update for AEXXOS, and we wanted to take some time to walk you through one of the biggest system changes coming with it.I also recorded a Dev Talk video going over this update in detail — you’ll find it attached to this post.📦 The Old Weight-Based Inventory (Why It Had to Go)When AEXXOS launched into Early Access just over two weeks ago, one of the first systems to show cracks was the weight-based cargo system. The original design worked like this:Every item had a numeric weightShips had a maximum cargo capacityExceeding capacity caused:Ship slowdownsWarp gate restrictionsBoarding / unboarding restrictionsWhile the idea sounded good on paper, in practice it was:ClunkyBug-proneHard to reason aboutAnd most importantly… not funBy Day 3 of Early Access, we made the call to disable the system entirely and start fresh.🔁 Introducing the Slot-Based Cargo System (0.4.0)Update 0.4.0 replaces weight with a clear, predictable slot-based inventory system.🚀 How it works:Starter Pod: 12 inventory slotsEach ship tier adds +6 slotsDagger-class ship: 18 slotsGalaxy-class ship: 24 slotsAnd so on…This gives players instant clarity:You know exactly how much you can carryNo hidden mathNo unexpected slowdowns☠️ Death, Cargo & Bound ItemsInventory behavior on death is now much more intentional:First 12 slots are reserved for bound itemsThese items are not lost on deathTier-based cargo slots:Can only hold items that drop on deathAre lost when your ship is destroyedThis keeps risk vs reward intact while removing frustration and edge cases.⚓ Anchorage Zones – Replacing Weight RestrictionsOne benefit of the old system was limiting boarding and unboarding based on weight. With weight gone, we needed a better solution.Enter: ANCHORAGE AREASDesignated zones used for:Boarding shipsUnboarding shipsVisually marked with a white circle (visuals subject to change)Preve...Read full article on Community Announcements (DOER)AnnouncementsOfficial
AEXXOS: Early Access Week One: 1,000 Downloads & Major Fixes
Hello everyone,We’ve just passed our first 7 days of Early Access, and we wanted to give you a quick update on where things stand.First of all — thank you. We exceeded our initial expectations with around 1,000 downloads in the first week alone. That’s incredible for us, and we truly appreciate everyone who jumped in early and helped test the game. That said, launch week definitely came with challenges.Over the past week we’ve made hundreds of server-side fixes and tuning changes. Random server crashes have now been resolved, and overall stability has improved significantly. We also fixed many smaller issues, including: • Typos and incorrect item/quest information • UI issues in the Galactic Market • Various small gameplay bugs discovered through player reportsOn the server side, we ran into a major issue with mobs immediately evading after being engaged. This required partially rewriting how our mob behavior system works. As of yesterday, this issue has been fully resolved. We also made an early design call regarding the weight system. After seeing how it behaved in live gameplay, we realized it was poorly optimized and didn’t fit the game’s long-term design goals. For now, the weight system has been disabled while we work on something better.🚀 What’s Next? We’re currently designing and implementing a new stack-based inventory system. This system will: • Limit items to smaller stack sizes • Tie available inventory slots to your ship class • Encourage more meaningful choices about cargo and loadoutsWe believe this will feel more dynamic, more balanced, and much more fluid during gameplay.⚙️ Upcoming Update – Version 0.3.7 (Planned for Sunday, Feb 1st)We’re planning a small balance update with the following changes:• Increase base range by +1 • Increase base speed by +1 • Increase EMP stun weapon cooldowns by 50%These adjustments are based on early player feedback, and we’ll be closely watching how they impact gameplay. We truly appreciate all the feedback so far — and ple...Read full article on Community Announcements (DOER)AnnouncementsOfficial
🚀 AEXXOS Launch Plans – Early Access Begins January 23rd
Over the past year, we’ve focused heavily on building a solid foundation for the galaxy — and your feedback during the demo phase played a huge role in shaping what comes next. Based on that feedback, several core systems have already seen major improvements ahead of launch.⚔️ Combat OverhaulCombat has been completely reworked. Enemies now respond far more reliably to aggro, making encounters feel more consistent and reactive. Attacks have received new visual effects, including procedural and randomized explosions, helping combat feel more dynamic and less repetitive. We’ve also improved the audio experience, with better sound design overall and proper audio distance culling, so fights sound impactful without becoming overwhelming as activity increases around you.👾 A Living GalaxyThe galaxy has grown significantly:30+ different mob types have been added, spanning multiple species.Defensive structures have been improved and expanded. These entities are spread across 8 different factions, all of which react differently to one another, helping the galaxy feel active and alive even when players aren’t directly involved. These interactions are a key part of making the world feel less static and more like a place that feels inhabited and contested.🌌 Exploration & HotspotsExploration has been expanded with 20+ galaxy hotspots, each featuring unique points of interest. These are just the beginning — we plan to expand and refine them further as we gather feedback from Early Access players. To support exploration, the minimap has received a major update, including:Multiple usability improvementsA highly requested full-screen minimap mode, making it easier to orient yourself and track nearby activitySome hotspots are located in PvP-enabled areas, while others are not. Higher-tier rewards are found in PvP zones, reinforcing a clear risk vs reward philosophy.PvP areas now also have an improved notification system, so you’ll clearly see when you — or other players — enter PvP space.🛠...Read full article on Community Announcements (DOER)
