Upcoming Update: Modifiers!
Hey everyone! I want to share some details about the next big update a little earlier this time, even if it’s still some weeks away. I’d also love to hear your thoughts and ideas while I’m still working on it. The next update will be all about Modifiers. They will let you customize your runs in many different ways. You can pick presets made by me or create your own rules. You can even share your custom setups with others! Modifiers can make runs shorter, more challenging or just create silly and fun game modes. You’ll even be able to create custom cards that affect every battle. Some examples: There are modifiers that change the length of Acts. For each Act, you can choose between Extended, Short, Very Short and Boss Only. I’m making sure the events still make sense for the shorter versions, but you decide how much time you want to spend on a run. You can replace your starting deck with your Collection Deck, have a random Commander selected every battle, allow duplicating forged cards, start with additional resources and much more. There are also Advanced Modifiers where you can select a Trigger, Effect and Value to create a custom card that starts on the field every battle. This allows for some pretty crazy combinations and I’m really curious to see what you come up with! My goal is to make Modifiers as fun and flexible as possible. I want you to actually use them and customize the game however you like. That’s why Modifiers won’t disable progression or Collection picks, with a few exceptions. This means you can collect Cards faster or make runs easier, while also being able to make the game much harder if you want to challenge yourself. However, I don’t want existing progress to feel less valuable. That’s why Modifiers can’t be used on Torments. I want Torments to remain a challenge and an achievement to complete. Some modifiers will also disable Best Time, Mastered and Highest Clear statistics. For example, you’ll have to complete a whole run without shortened Ac...Read full article on Community Announcements (tubbyturtlestudios)Patch NotesOfficial
NEW EFFECTS UPDATE
Added a bunch of new unique effects to the game, so there are now infinite cards plus some more ready to discover! This is the second major free content update for Infinite Cards, and I hope to release many more in the future. If you'd like to support me as a solo developer, I've added a small Supporter DLC to the store. As a thank you, it unlocks animated Foil cards during your runs. The Foil effect is purely cosmetic and has no impact on gameplay. https://store.steampowered.com/app/4945110/Infinite_Cards__Support_DLC/ Because this update adds a lot of new effects and balance changes, I wanted to quickly explain how card generation works. Cards are procedurally generated, but every single effect is handcrafted and balanced. Each effect has its own chance to appear, rules for which cards it can appear on, and which other effects it can be combined with. Most importantly, every effect has a cost. A card has to "pay" that cost to gain the effect. How many points a card can spend depends on its mana cost, rarity, and the act in which it is generated. New Effects • New Core Mechanic: Barrier Dev Note: Barrier is a new effect that your commander can gain, similar to Parry. It absorbs incoming LP damage, but loses 1 value at the start of your turn. So it functions like additional temporary LP. • Rebalanced the probability of LP and Parry effects to fit the new Barrier effects. • Rebalanced Aqua Nereida: Now also grants +1 Barrier on Observe Spell Play. • Barrier is now explained in the tutorial. • New Effect: Play for free Dev Note: This effect lets you play a card without paying its mana cost. Observe Card Play and Play triggers will resolve, while Condition triggers are skipped and will not resolve. Think of it as the equivalent of "Move Unit/Relic to the Field", but it also works for Spells and resolves Play triggers instead of only Enter triggers. This effect will primarily target Spells, but can also target Cards from your Hand, Pile, or Deck. • New Legendary Creates...Read full article on Community Announcements (tubbyturtlestudios)Patch NotesOfficial

Patchnotes V.1.1.1
Fixes & Improvements • Added a text indicator in the bottom left during Elite and Boss fights • Changed all non-Play and non-Activate effects that target Weapons from 0-1 to 1, resulting in Weapons being auto-selected if one is available • Fixed an issue where some "Fight: +n|+m" Weapon and Unit effects could also target opponent units, they can now only target own units (only "this turn" changes are allowed to also target Opp. Field) • Fixed an issue where the Activation cost for "Activate: Create 3|3 Giant" was incorrectly set too high (now correctly set to 3 mana). • Fixed a potential infinite loop caused by "Observe Enter/Leave/Died (Unit): Create Radiant Heartcrystal". It now requires Card Mana≥2 to prevent infinite loops with other "Observe Enter (Card Mana≥2): Create 1 Mana Unit" effects. Internal effect costs have been adjusted accordingly. • Fixed multiple "Observe Enter (Card Mana≥n): Create Dragon" effects that could previously retrigger too easily after transforming into stronger dragon versions. Internal effect costs have been adjusted accordingly. • Fixed Observe ... (Limited) effects. They now correctly trigger once per turn instead of once per round. • Fixed an issue where the target selection in the Pile was displayed at the wrong position after previously selecting a card from the hand as a target.Read full article on Community Announcements (tubbyturtlestudios)Patch NotesOfficial

Rename your Cards! • You can now rename cards in your collection and in the deckbuilder by right-clicking them and using the edit icon in the top right • Added a tutorial text explaining how to rename cards. Added New Effects • Giant Create effects can now appear • Double and Triple a Unit’s Attack and Defense can appear rarely exclusively on Spells and Giants And More • Added 4 basic Achievements for the Giant Opponents and the Act 4 Giant Boss • Added new card images • Increased the card collection limit from 100 to 250 Fixes • Improved performance when filtering cards in the deckbuilder • Fixed a bug where the save icon could sometimes appear when it shouldn’t • Fixed bad line breaks in the tutorial for some languages • Fixed a bug in the tutorial where the deckbuilder tutorial message could be skipped What’s next? I’ll continue working on new content after the Giant Update. For now, there are no immediate plans for another location, instead I'll focus on new effects, quality-of-life improvements and potentially new game modes in the future.
