    Sublight Patch 0.20.0

0.20.00 If you've been on the public test branch nothing should come as a surprise here General This is a major patch, so leaderboards will be reset. Added some more validation to leaderboard scores. I'll continue to improve this as I go. Interface Added even more Tooltips! Added the ability to click a leaderboard score to see a breakdown of that run, weapons equipped and inventory state. Audio Added engine sounds. Now you don't have to make wooshing noises as you engage in broadside actions. Added level specific atmospheric sound. Fixed some issues with the music player being way quieter than the core gameplay. Weapons Unlocking a weapon type now unlocks all the tiers of that weapon. (there will be a onetime refund of credits for this) Changed how weapon bans work, You'll get 1+ ban for each new weapon purchased after the first 6. So the core pool can be at a minimum of 6 for those more build targeted runs. Weapons will now allow merging mid run to increase their damage done. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45853686/6574e83cd47c410be8f95ebc5b5fa5f2fd25964f.gif Also drop tables have been updated to stop weapons from appearing in lower tier chests as a run progresses. Not going to share exact timings but it should feel rewarding to grab that common chest 15 minutes in and know it will only provide a passive. Research: Added research for multiple weapon types. More to come soon. Added multiple new variants of weapons based on research selections. Pulse weapons: Pulse weapons have been changed to sync all pulses into a single attack based on your highest level pulse weapon. Multiple pulse weapons trigger multiple attacks in the same wave. Known issues Game will occasionally freeze on level load. Its rarer now but still getting the occasional report, so more information would help here.

    Sublight Week One

That’s a wrap for the first week after launch, and the numbers blew me away: 3,000 copies sold, 45,000 runs, and 138,000,000+ enemies killed. As a solo dev, so getting this kind of support out of the gate has been incredible. Thank you. I’ve already shipped three patches based on your feedback, and there's a full roadmap ahead, but the priority right now is polishing the launch build before new content. Weapons and loot The biggest pain point I've seen in your comments is about weapons and drops. To address these, I’ve made a few changes: So coming in Patch 0.20 Stacking upgrades for max-tier weapons: Once a weapon hits its top tier, you can now stack +1 upgrades that each add 25% damage. This means late-game drops stay meaningful instead of becoming dead weight. Drop tables changes: Common/uncommon weapon drops will fully taper off as you level, so you won't hit minute 30 with options you'd never use. Common/uncommon passives are always useful, so they will continue to drop. (This means a common loot crate mid/late game will only offer passives) Weapon armory changes: Buying a weapon type now unlocks all its tiers. On top of that, each weapon gets its own passive upgrade tree, capped off with a choice node that changes how the weapon behaves. For example, this could be Dual Railguns with a bonus volley, or a Mass Driver that trades rate of fire for raw damage. Enjoy my amazing photoshop mockup art icons Leaderboard changes There will now be additional score validation for cheated scores. Also, the global leaderboard will be separated between standard and endless modes. (Note that leaderboards will reset on every major patch, including this one.) Speaking of endless mode... Endless mode will be getting some more number scaling tweaks so its not a snooze fest once your build is online. Public test branch: this week Patch 0.20 live: next week Thanks again for playing. Much love. Latte @ Codebrew Software

Patch - 0.19.04 Bug and Ui improvements

0.19.04 Sublight! Now with a more tool tips! General Fixed Steam Cloud saves not syncing between PC and Steam Deck. Increased number of weapon bans available. To discourage players avoiding buying a weapon because it would dilute the lootpool the number of bans is now increased per each maximized weapon. Starting after 6 you will get 1 ban per each fully unlocked weapon. Added a new weapon priority for event targets. Interface Added Tooltips to turret stats. - Now you know what discharge does! hovering over a weapons stats should now give a brief explanation. This is the first step on towards overall UI polish, this will continue to be worked on as I go. Fixed Weapon stats not displaying correctly in the armory. Weapons Strike craft: Fighters now circle your ship if no valid targets are available. All tiers of fighters have been given wider attack arcs. Increased the damage of all fighters. Updated Bombers to have their own scaling deployed count stat. Energy weapons: Pulse now correctly apply statuses on hit. Beam weapons now correctly apply statuses per tick. Silo weapons have been renamed to Torpedos to clear confusion. Passives Double Barrel passive now has a small delay to for the second blast be more noticeable. Known issues Weapons still dropping after 20 minutes and a full build leading to unrewarding gameplay loop. Plans are in process to improve this more details this week.

0.19.03 - Weapon fixes and scourge balance

0.19.03 Fighter pilots have been asked not to slack off in the middle of combat zones. General Increasing weapon range now zooms the camera out a little bit more per stack. Fixed Endless bosses stopping spawning after 25 mins. Enemies Noticed the 2nd act is a bit of challenge for slower ships, so focused on adjusting these values. Reduced the health and speed of Scourge Ramming ships. Reduced the damage and speed of Scourge Projectiles. Weapons Fighters: Fixed an issue where on returning to ship some fighters would be remove from the weapon pool, requiring players to shuffle weapons to get them back. Now always spawn regardless of enemy targets. Pulse weapons: Added an Epic pulse weapon. Fixed some issues with pulse visual not matching the range. Fixed pulse weapons not applying Discharge. User interface Fixed the passive descriptions for Long winter upgrade. Known issues Reported game freeze on level load sometimes. Ive tried to improve this, and it should at least crash out rather than freezing forever requiring the player to restart. Reports of Demo saves overwriting the full game, I've disabled the demo cloud saves to help mitigate this. Upgrading guns is confusing. (working on it, I will be retooling how weapon upgrades are unlocked in the armory because its not ideal)
