About this game

In the closing months of World War 2, an ancient ritual is performed to bring ancient warriors into our world. From each nation, anime girls are summoned from the Hyperborean dimension to fight as a representative of their people and infused with the soul of a mortal woman of the time. Unfortunately the ritual is interrupted, and dark forces leak through that corrupt the soldiers involved into zombies. With the world now on the brink for both sides, the girls unite to stop the zombie horde that threatens our world.

Gameplay

Totenkampf is a classic round based survival 1st and 3rd person shooter with anime girls and magical elements to spice up the setting and gameplay. Each girl has her own elemental abilities, and can also gain more powers by exchanging points at altars that provide a small link to their world. Aquire powerful weapons from WW2 and combine the powers of both worlds to cut through countless waves of zombies.

Characters and Powers

There are 6 girls to play as, representing the USA, England, Russia, Germany, Italy, and Japan. Each has her own personality and unique element. All of them are fully voiced and will interact with other characters around them through dialogue. They make use of Ice, Fire, Electricity, Water, Earth, and Wind abilities. Many will work well together, so be sure to use them as a team!

Customization

You can change the outfits, headgear, and hairstyles of each character. You can also create your own character entirely, and customize her face, body type, and hair to your liking! Get new outfits and other customization items by unlocking achievements in-game!

Weapons

From the staples like the MP-40, M1 Garand, Kar98k, and PPsH-41, to the rarer weapons like the TZ-45, Volkssturmgewehr, and FG-42. There's a huge variety to work with for any play style.

New Matchmaking / Online System! + General Networking Improvements

This update moves Totenkampf to a new matchmaking / online system, which is faster and more stable too! The previous system was kinda buggy and hard to work with, it took some time to convert it over but this should be a lot better. There may be some bugs at first so feel free to report them in the discussion forums or in the comments to this post. I will fix those asap! There are no matchmaking servers or anything extra going on, as all the logic is entirely baked in to the game itself. So it will never go offline (as long as Steam isn't down too of course)Full patch notes below :-Added new matchmaking / online system-Added player view menu in both main menu and lobby, you can use this to take a closer look at other players character models-Added option to change privacy of main menu lobby-General in-game networking improvements for low bandwidth/high latency/unstable connections especially-General stability improvements-Added support for 4 new languages: Traditional Chinese, Danish, Dutch, and Hungarian Also as a note, the game's .exe is now Totenkampf.exe. This shouldn't mess with your save data but worth noting regardless. Another note! If you have any issues rejoining each other after a match, just close the game and open it again to fix any of those issues in the meantime. This is a new system so there may be some initial bugs.Enjoy! Next update will be a content drop, new map (indoor one at least mostly) and some new character outfits and other options planned :)Edited since I forgot to mention new languages were added too

New Map! + Weapon Upgrades! + New Powerup + Melee + Fixes and More!

New Map:Moor Der Schatten - The undead spread to a battlefield near the castle, quickly overwhelming the soldiers on both sides. Ideal for smaller lobbies and those looking to test their skill in a tighter and more restricted level. New Features:-Added the Wunderwaffe Altar on all maps, which will allow you to upgrade any gun in the game! It will get a new skin and become more powerful, with some guns getting additional features. Like going from semi auto to full auto, or even electrocuting, burning, or freezing zombies with every shot. -New powerup! - Added One Hit Kill powerup, which makes zombies die in one hit for 30 seconds.-Added Melee/Knife - you can now melee by pressing the 'q' key by default. This is very helpful for early rounds when conserving ammo, or as a last resort to earn points if all your guns are totally empty. Minor Features: -Added invite button that acts as shortcut to your Steam friends list, for those that don't feel like pulling up the Steam overlay manually.-Added Loading Screens for game start up and when loading into a level-Added menus for single player only. Previously you could just start a match by yourself, but now you have this if you want a more offline solution.-Added some messages on radios throughout Die Toten Erwachen and Moor Der Schatten-Added a purchasable Ammo Refill powerup in the spawn areas of both maps. Though expensive, it serves a good use of excess points at high rounds.Optimizations:-Added shader pre-compilation on the menu screen, this should reduce in-game stuttering you may have encountered when first playing the gameFixes:-Additional fixes to parties not connecting after disconnecting from a previous match-Fixed broken pathing for zombies on staircase in Die Toten Erwachen as reported by Zombiexp and other players, thank you!-Fixes for various other zombie pathing errors-Fixed error where launch screen would say login had failed, this was in error and a leftover from an unimplemented online system-Improved hand...

Round Leaderboard Added + Fixes to Character Selection, Matchmaking, Bullet Lag

New features:-A Leaderboard for highest round survived has been addedGameplay changes:-Power ups should now spawn more frequently, up to 4 times per wave. This should help with those running out of ammo on higher rounds. More solutions are on the way for that issue though.Bug Fixes-Fixed issue where non host players selected characters would not change in lobby. This didn't affect your character once you loaded into a match, but either way which character you've chosen will now be consistent from lobby to gameplay-Further fixes to issues where matchmaking may get stuck when switching between matchmaking and private match, or vice versa. Also added a delay between when you back out of matchmaking and when you can start it again, so if clicking the selected playlist does nothing and is greyed out. Just wait a moment and you'll be able to search again. If you still have issues try going back to the main menu or restart the game. You may have to do this if you quit a game mid match and then try to search in matchmaking again immediately afterwards-Fixes to shots not registering when a lot of players are all firing weapons, let me know if you still have this issue-Further fixes to any stuck zombies that may be delaying progression to the next wave. If there appear to be no more zombies on the map, then in 2-3 minutes they should despawn or get themselves unstuck and the match will progressLet me know any further issues you have, I will try my best to solve them as soon as possible. Thank you for playing and thank you for your patience!
