Action, Adventure, Indie · More free games
Embark on a perilous journey through ancient ruins, using shadows and strategy to evade a relentless pursuit by a cannibalistic tribe. Every move counts in this hardcore survival game that tests your wits and reflexes.
About this game
Draw your bow as Kiipluu, a young hunter fleeing across hostile lands while being pursued by the cannibalistic tribe, the Na’ush. Outnumbered and under-equipped, you must rely on stealth, planning, and careful movement to survive.
Direct combat is possible but always risky, always costly, and often a last resort.
Along the way, Kiipluu is haunted by dreamlike spirits and visions of his father, a legendary hunter whose shadow looms over every choice. Your decisions shape who survives, who is lost, and what kind of person Kiipluu becomes. The question is: Can you survive in a world that wants you dead?

Embrace Hardcore Stealth Action
Study patrol routes, use tall grass, shadows, sound, and terrain to stay hidden. Set traps, strike with an ambush, or slip past unseen. Being discovered can quickly become fatal.
Master Brutal Combat with Consequences
When stealth fails, combat is fast and unforgiving. Weapons are primitive, injuries matter, and there are no easy victories.
Hunt or Be Hunted
Stay constantly on the run as you are pursued by the relentless cannibal tribe known as the Na’ush.
Craft to Survive
Prepare tools, weapons, and gear as you learn to lead to survive.
Shape Your Dark Mythic Adventure
Make meaningful choices that influence Kiipluu’s journey home as he navigates a harsh world and the spirits that haunt his path.

Three detection ideas we want your take on
We are looking at three possible changes to detection in Kiipluu and want feedback before deciding on any of them. First, smell. A few players suggested adding it as a detection layer for the Na'Ush. We talked about this earlier in development too, around wind direction and hunting, a hunter downwind of an animal gives himself away before he is close. The same idea could work with an enemy warrior downwind of you, picking up your scent before seeing or hearing you. We left it out because it seemed too complicated to build properly. The suggestion brought it back.Second, hiding in the dark. A number of demo players seem to think they can hide in shadow. There is no such mechanic right now, darkness does not affect NPC vision at all. We could add it, but most of the game does not take place at night, so it would barely come up. An alternative we are weighing is hiding up in trees, which would work during the day what could balance hiding in the dark during the night, or could be alternative.Third, UI. We have kept the interface minimal on purpose, but several players have asked for something closer to Thief, a clear indicator of whether you are hidden. Right now there are small cues instead, heartbeat gets louder, a slight color shift, the screen edges darken a little. Before the questions, here is how detection works right now.How detection works right nowPlayer detection NowWhen we started, NPC player detection worked the way it does in most stealth games. If you are in cover or you're not visible, if you run NPC will hear from further away, if you sneak then you are silent, and we made several-tier vision system. Darkness does not affect NPC vision. We also added “look around” for guards, so they would give a clue before doing that and then look around.Problems:· We noticed that several-tier vision system is already complicated for people to understand. Of course the real reason might be that demo just throws player into encounter without too much explanation a...Read full article on Community Announcements (Šalna)Patch NotesOfficial
We Watched From the Shadows
We watched from the shadows.Events, streamers, players at Nordic Games - we saw everything. We saw you die in ways we didn't intend. We saw confusion where there should have been tension. We saw you drag a body across the ground in total silence, which was either deeply immersive or a glitch. (It was a glitch)So we went back in. Here's what we fixed. What's new and improved:NPC damage reactions - Enemies now respond to being hit the way you'd expect something alive to respond. They feel it.Credits - Yes, finally. The people who built this world have names.Hints and lore during loading screens and death - You will die. You already know this. Now something useful happens while you wait.Subtitle UI improvements - Cleaner, more readable. You shouldn't have to squint at a Neolithic campfire scene.Improved enemy AI - Na'Ush warriors were occasionally dancing instead of attacking. We were embarrassed. Fixed. Bowmen are also smarter now. You've been warned.Inventory bug fix on loading - sometimes you loaded in holding two weapons. Sometimes nothing. Neither is ideal when something is trying to hunt you.Sound bug fix when dragging bodies - The silence was unsettling. It's been corrected. Dragging is now as unpleasant as it should be.Subtitle UI bug after restart - Fixed. Restart all you like.Other bug fixes - The kind that don't get headlines but matter. The demo is still brutal. That's intentional. But now it's brutal on our terms, not because something broke.Thank you for playing, for streaming, and for dying loudly enough that we could hear it. And write reviews! The NIEKO teamRead full article on Community Announcements (Niekoplay)AnnouncementsOfficial
Bows & Arrows in Kiipluu | Devlog #3
🏹 Bows & Arrows in Kiipluu Surviving in Kiipluu isn't just about hiding in the shadows, sometimes you need to strike from a distance. Our bow system features four unique arrow types, each designed for different situations:🍃 Leaf-Shaped Arrow – A reliable, all-purpose arrow for everyday encounters.🩸 Bleeding Arrow – Causes enemies to bleed over time, making every hit count.☠️ Poison Arrow – Delivers devastating damage and can take down dangerous enemies quickly.🪨 Blunt Arrow – ideal for hunting wildlife and creating distractions Stamina MattersDrawing a bow requires focus and endurance. While aiming, your stamina drains rapidly. As your stamina decreases, your aim becomes less steady, making every shot more challenging.Every Shot CountsNot all hits are equal.Leg shots deal the least damage.Chest shots are more effective.Headshots deal the highest damage. But be careful - missing a shot isn't always harmless. Alert enemies may hear an arrow fly past and start searching for the source.Hunt, Survive, Stay HiddenBows are essential for hunting animals that are too fast or dangerous to approach in melee combat. They also allow stealthy players to eliminate threats from a distance without exposing themselves. With proper planning and the right ammunition, even heavily guarded enemies can be taken down before they have a chance to react.Craft Your Own ArrowsResources found throughout the world can be used to craft new arrows at crafting tables, allowing you to prepare for different situations and adapt your strategy.Which arrow type would you choose for your survival journey?🏹 Wishlist Kiipluu on Steam and follow development for more updates!Read full article on Community Announcements (Šalna)AnnouncementsOfficial
Kiipluu Dev Blog #2 – NPC Vision in Kiipluu
How Enemy Vision Works in Kiipluu One of the biggest challenges in stealth games is making enemy detection feel tense without feeling random. For Kiipluu, we wanted players to constantly think about distance, movement, terrain, and positioning instead of simply asking:“Am I hidden or not?”That led us to building a layered NPC vision system. Different Detection Zones Enemies react differently depending on how close you are and how exposed you become. At longer distances, enemies mostly react to movement. If you crouch and move carefully, you can stay unnoticed even relatively close to them.As you get nearer, stealth becomes less forgiving.Bushes, terrain, shadows, and visibility start playing a much larger role. Moving carelessly or standing in the wrong place becomes much more dangerous. At direct range, enemies can both see and hear you clearly. Running, fast movement, and noise become difficult to recover from once you are detected. And if you get extremely close, even bushes stop being reliable protection. Awareness Behind Enemies We also added a small awareness zone behind NPCs.Not because enemies literally have eyes in the back of their heads, but because sneaking directly behind someone should still feel risky and tense. That uncomfortable feeling of: “Okay… Someone might be behind me.”was something we wanted to preserve. Stealth Should Feel Uncertain A lot of stealth systems eventually become predictable once players fully understand the rules. Our goal with Kiipluu is slightly different. We want players to understand the systems enough to learn from mistakes, while still feeling vulnerable during encounters.Stealth should reward observation and patience, but there should always be tension when moving through enemy territory. We would love to hear your thoughts after watching the video. Watch the video below for a deeper look at how NPC vision currently works in Kiipluu.Read full article on Community Announcements (Šalna)Patch NotesOfficial
