About this game

A Space Shaped by What You Carry

The Quiet Weight is a restrained, symbolic horror experience about the cycles we return to when processing our deepest pains. Rooms shift. Paths close. New ones open only when you're ready to face what's waiting. You're not escaping a place — you're moving through something you've been avoiding.

Atmospheric Horror Through Subtle Change

The world reacts quietly to your presence. A vent opens that wasn't open before. A door strains, as if holding something back. A hallway feels narrower than before. Something responds to every step you take — shaped by what still hurts, and what you're not ready to see.

Move Carefully Through What Remains

Sound matters. Stillness matters. Attention matters. You'll navigate:

  • Shifting rooms shaped by memory.

  • Fragile spaces that hold what you've left untouched.

  • Moments of pressure pressing through the walls.

  • A quiet presence built from the parts of yourself you've tried not to feel.

Not every part of you is ready at the same time — and the house reflects that.

Cycles That Change When You Do

Each loop reveals something new — not because the world is random, but because you are different each time you return. You're not retracing someone else's steps. You're retracing your own. And when you're ready, the house will lead you back to the moment you've been carrying.

    Small Demo Fixes

Over the last few days, I’ve been watching how players move through the demo, where they get stuck, and what breaks the flow. One moment stood out: the first encounter with Pain. It was too fast, too punishing, and not clear enough to survive on a first attempt.I’ve made a few adjustments to help the encounter land the way it was meant to:Slightly slower movement and reaction from PainClearer behavioral hints added to the DiariesA bit more room to understand what’s happening before things escalateTweaked the radius, size and range of the flashlightThese changes should make the moment tense and readable, without losing its emotional weight. To everyone who played the demo so far — thank you. Your playthroughs are incredibly helpful, and I’ll keep refining the experience throughout the festival.

Demo Update 0.1.1 — A Shift in the Halls

Thank you to everyone who has taken their first steps into The Quiet Weight over the last few days. Since the demo went live, it has been incredible watching you navigate the cycles and face what is waiting in the dark. The house is a space shaped by what you carry, but as I’ve watched early playthroughs, it became clear that in one specific loop, the house was pushing back a little too suddenly. The presence you encounter there is meant to be overwhelming, but the sudden weight of it was closing the walls in before you had a fair chance to find your bearings.I’ve just pushed a small update to adjust how the house reacts in that moment:A Glimpse of the Path: Before the tension spikes and the doors shut, the house now grants you a deliberate, lingering look at your escape route. If you look closely, the blue light of progress is there to guide you.A Quieter Stance: When the presence fully reveals itself and you are left to navigate the red light, the physical weight of the room will now force you low. You will automatically transition into a crouched stance—a silent reminder that surviving this space requires quiet movement.A Moment of Hesitation: The threat still moves with an unnatural, heavy intent, but the shadows now grant you a singular, brief moment of stillness. It acts as a split-second warning, allowing you to realize you are making too much noise before it strikes. If the halls claimed you before you were ready to find closure, I encourage you to step back inside. The path forward should feel much clearer now.Thank you for playing, and please keep sharing your experiences. The house is always listening.
