About this game

Roadmap

About the Game

SuperWEIRD is a roguelite about automation, building, and survival. It combines easy-to-learn automation mechanics with deep gameplay in which perfectionists can spend hours improving and optimizing production chains.

In this game, there are no right or wrong decisions—you can always start over and try a new strategy. Most importantly, it’s more fun with friends: play solo or with up to four players.

You need more bots

Goofy Goo is powerful—you won’t defeat it alone. You’ll need an army of rusty, clumsy lemming-like robots.
Control your bots by marking paths and task points with flags. Build complex production chains to craft increasingly advanced and powerful weapons.

Beware the corruption

On your journey, you’ll face many enemies. The vile Goofy Goo, which broke the planet apart, will stand in your way by sending giant robot bosses and smaller disgusting creatures. It also devours resources and structures, making life difficult for everyone.

Piece the planet back together

A SuperWEIRD planet has fallen apart into hundreds of fragments. It’s up to you to piece it back together!
Experiment, combine, and create your own unique world—this is a true sandbox in which every fragment can be used in your own way.

Save the locals

Among the planet’s remains, you’ll rescue the locals from corruption. They’ll settle at your base and ask for all kinds of strange favors—like fetching a boss’s “third claw from the left.” In return, these quirky aliens will reward you with perks such as extra health, larger inventory stacks, and increased speed.

Co-op

Play solo or with friends, either online or over a local network.

Tutorial & QoL Update — Videos will save us!

Hi everyone For anyone who opened the Playtest page for the first time and has no idea where they ended up: SuperWEIRD is an automation roguelite where you build production chains and command an army of very clumsy, slightly stupid robots. Some of them are smarter, some of them are more stupid. One way or another, little by little, with the help of automation — and recently also with the help of your friends, who you can now invite into the playtest — you rebuild, piece by piece, a planet destroyed by a terrible Corruption called Goofy Goo. Today we have another SuperWEIRD update for you. And, as always, we really need videos from people joining the playtest. We need pretty much everything. If this is your first time playing, please record the tutorial — it is especially important for us to understand how clear and interesting it feels now. If you can, keep recording and play for as long as possible. We want to see how the runs actually play out. We also still have quite a lot of bugs in co-op. We know that for some people it crashes constantly, and we do receive reports about it, but unfortunately the reports alone usually aren't enough for us to understand where the problem is. To figure out what is broken, we really need to see a video of the co-op session and the moment it crashes. Please send us your recordings. Links for sending videos: 1) If you have a google account. 2) If you don’t have a google account. What did we add in this update? At first glance, it may look like nothing particularly special. But behind the scenes there are a lot of small changes, tutorial improvements, and quality-of-life changes. We also added a little more comic content and story. We added a final statistics screen at the end of every run in this patch, so you could look back at all the cool stuff you managed to do with your friends and congratulate yourselves on how well you did. We also improved some of the sounds in the game and changed one of the windows where you assemble the ...

    COOP IS HERE!!!

Store.steampowered.com/app/3818770/SuperWEIRD/ Hi everyone We’ve just launched our very first attempt at co-op in SuperWEIRD. For anyone drifting into this strange little corner for the first time, SuperWEIRD is an automation roguelite about building production chains, commanding clumsy robots, rebuilding a broken planet with Tetris-like pieces, and trying to stop the Corruption called Goofy Goo. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/94652dc41ffe4677719a76e4f421cff194952f20.png This is the first real co-op build, so naturally, everything started falling apart almost immediately. Shortly before release, we discovered that a player could invite themselves into their own co-op session. Which is technically multiplayer, depending on how philosophical you feel about it)))) We fixed a lot, probably broke a few new things, and now we really need your feedback on how co-op actually feels. Full video playthroughs are especially useful, because they help us see all the confusing, awkward, and unexpectedly funny moments that written feedback can miss. You can sign up for the co-op playtest here: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/fb2f177b6aeb8fe11525c091aa4dc889f4dd7ef8.png Players who can record their playthrough will be invited first. And one more thing! Small—though possibly the most important—piece of news: our artist Anya has brought one of the game's NPCs (who has already become our little mascot) to life! Take a look at this adorable creation, and please shower Anya with compliments! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/25c4aea835b5c712a3e97a9ab3f2cc2cf9659ad5.jpg By the way, we've uploaded the painting process to our YouTube channel if you'd like to see how it all came together. Happy testing! Good News: More Robots. Bad News: Also More Robots

Store.steampowered.com/app/3818770/SuperWEIRD/ Those of you who’ve been with us for a while might remember that this winter we ran browser playtests and even launched the game on itch — pretty successfully, we’d say. We experimented a lot there: tested different algorithms, explored how itch works, and even built a small internal tool to figure out the best tags for the game. We wrote a detailed breakdown of those experiments here: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/fea17e5b7afae3a4eccca13fb12a71214653c6f6.png TL;DR: the itch launch was a success — not so much because of wishlists, but because of the incredible feedback you gave us. Seriously, the amount (and quality!) of comments was huge, and it helped us a lot. So, we moved on to a series of closed playtests where we’re now polishing the core features. If you want to join — hop into our Discord and follow SuperWEIRD updates. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/fb2f177b6aeb8fe11525c091aa4dc889f4dd7ef8.png After the closed playtests (keys required), and once we feel confident about the core gameplay, we’ll invite the Discord community to test co-op. So yeah — join, subscribe, and don’t miss the early tests. And just to avoid confusion: If you signed up for the big Steam playtest — the one with the “Request Access” button — that’s a different thing. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/267d435859b5a2b9becaf6b6ef59b55bd4c29bc0.png That one is an open playtest, and it will happen later, after we’re done with the closed testing phase. So… what did we do for two months? Well — we’re building a more complex, expanded version of the game for Steam. The last two months looked like this: release a patch → send keys to new players → watch feedback → repeat. We’ve done that cycle four times already. What did we learn? First of all — we added worker robots. We were getting comments about this even back in the browser version: splitting one stream of robots into multiple flows just wasn’t very intuitive. It was hard to keep track of who was going wher...

    SuperWEIRD: closed playtest

Store.steampowered.com/app/3818770/SuperWEIRD/ Friends! Long time no see. We’re here to tell you how development is going and to ask for your help with the upcoming closed playtest. But first things first. How’s development going? Until recently, we were busy running browser playtests. The playtests are now over, the team has gathered feedback, and based on it we’re fully reworking the game to prepare it for Steam. Latest changes: Interfaces The gameplay is becoming more complex, new features are piling up, and we’re actively redesigning the UI to support them. Take a look at some of our mockups! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/2315a7bcb8982ef7f2651c7d966b70af95491326.png Towers Another thing: we received a lot of feedback saying that our towers look like anything but towers. People called them totems, carrots… pretty much everything except defensive structures. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/63253fc7bb534ad4f52ea9f028f73d5838688cc1.gif So yes, we got the message — we’ll be redesigning them. We don’t have a final solution yet, but we can share some sketches. Let us know in the comments which towers you like the most! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/90039c843e6d74dfc027455be0b8d28ca57f0bfe.png We need your help Friends, we really need your support. This game has always been closely shaped by your feedback — sometimes through direct comments, sometimes through metrics and playtime data — but either way, this project has always grown based on your input. Right now, we need to test the new, more complex gameplay with real players. That’s why we’re launching a CLOSED playtest on March 9. If you’d like to participate, please fill out the form using the 👉🏻LINK. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45692635/fb2f177b6aeb8fe11525c091aa4dc889f4dd7ef8.png Players who provide detailed feedback — especially if it includes video recordings — are incredibly valuable to the development process. We’d be happy to mention you in the credits and give you some extra in-game goodies when the game launches. DO NOT CON...
