About this game

The magical world of Hitonero is crumbling. Dreams, the lifeblood of creation, have stopped flowing, and feral monsters now roam the land.

Play as Ollie, a nimble catfolk scout, and journey through a collapsing 2D Metroidvania of agile platforming, dynamic swordplay, divine powers, and hidden paths.
A Pantheon of Archons
Gather ancient Archons, each embodying a force of reality, and earn boons that change how you fight, move, and explore. Scale walls, levitate over traps, bounce off ceilings, unlock magical doors to forgotten areas, summon a giant snake and a feral wolf, ride inside mighty golems, master witchcraft and soar across the world on a flying mount.
Explore the World of Hitonero
Travel across handcrafted realms, from the Dryadic Forest and Pretty Swamp to levitating islands, buried temples, godly prisons, and sealed sanctuaries. Explore a deeply interconnected world filled with relics, shortcuts, pets, secrets, optional encounters, and hidden lore.

Game Content Update
I’m happy to announce that with this update, the game has finally come full circle, tying together some of its remaining loose ends and bringing previously hinted-at parts of the world into the game itself. The main addition is two new optional bosses.Gorgoth, The AncestralOne of them is Gorgoth, the ancestral monster who, until now, existed only through references in the game’s lore. Gorgoth can now be encountered as a very late-game optional boss.To gain access to him, you will need to:Gather all six Archontic Spheres.Be defeated at least once by the final boss.Unlock the passage through the Hall of Mirrors in the Abysmal Temple. The doorway to Gorgoth is found through the first mirror, which becomes available only after the other two mirrors have been unlocked. For anyone who may have missed this in previous updates, one of those mirrors can be accessed from Kindleburg, through the first house at the top of the village. You will first need to learn how to enter the building by defeating the optional Gorgon boss found in the subway area beneath the Pretty Swamp. The Merman KingThe second major addition is the Merman King, another completely optional boss, together with a small new dungeon leading up to the encounter.Unlike Gorgoth, the Merman King can be challenged at almost any stage of the game in the sea between Kindleburg and Occa's hut. There is no major progression requirement... the main question is whether your movement and combat skills are good enough to take him on.After defeating him, the Merman King can also be found in the Underwater Hall, where he unlocks an additional interaction.Other fixes and save logicAlongside these additions are further fixes and smaller adjustments throughout the game, including a much needed fix to the save system, which so far still eluded me but thanks to the engine developers we've finally managed to really pin down the issue. There should no longer be broken save files moving forward.Thank you to everyone who has played so ...Read full article on Community Announcements (louis.john.is.not)AnnouncementsOfficial

Game Content Update
Hello everyone! This update introduces a new branching path accessible from the Pretty Swamp, leading to a brand-new optional boss: the Winged Gorgon. Can you survive her petrifying gaze? This update also adds an optional dungeon crawler minigame. Navigate trap-laden stages, find the key, and reach the staircase to descend deeper, all while collecting dream energy that can be spent in the main game.Further changes in this patch:The Serpent Clan technique has been reworked, as it was previously not as useful as intended. Ollie will now finish his leap with an attack that fires a wave projectile at enemies.Ollie’s jump attack has also been refined. Jumping and attacking immediately afterward will no longer cancel his jump momentum.Added a new enemy variant for the blue blobs... the spiky slime is purple and has a whole new attack. One little requestBefore wrapping up, I’d like to ask one small favour as the developer of Ollie and the Merchant of Dreams.Since launch, visibility for the game has been quite limited. On Steam, discoverability is heavily influenced by the algorithm, and player reviews are one of the things that can help a game reach more people. So, if you have played Ollie and the Merchant of Dreams and enjoyed your time with it, leaving a review would genuinely help a lot. It shows your support, helps other players discover the game, and gives me even more motivation to keep updating it with new content.Thank you for playing and for supporting the game.Read full article on Community Announcements (louis.john.is.not)Patch NotesOfficial
